This study aimed to determine the reality of scientific research in Syria compared to Arab Countries, and some developed countries, by comparing the proportion of expenditure on research and development of local output, the number of researchers and technicians working in research and development, the number of research articles published in international journals, the number of Syrian researchers registered in the Google Scholar search engine, the number of citations to their researches, the number of researches published in Tishreen University, in addition to the number of researches registered and completed for postgraduate students at Tishreen University during the period 2008-2018, the number of Syrian researchers registered in the Researchgate research site, as well as the number of applications for patents for accreditation in the Arab Countries, the value of exports of high technology and the proportion of those exports of transformative exports; and determine the components of scientific research to be available to create added value to the Syrian Universities. The researcher adopted the survey methodology and distributed the questionnaire to 289 members of the teaching staff at Tishreen University. The most important result of the study was that, the participation of the Syrian Universities in attracting talent, participation in local, Arab and international conferences, seminars and workshops, providing research labs, modern computers, participation in search engines, research sites, databases and financing of external publications are effective Foundations for creating added value. Then, some recommendations were presented that would contribute to the creation of added value, the most important of which are: increasing the percentage of expenditure on scientific research, employing researchers, encouraging researchers to publish in international journals, establishing cooperation relations with local, Arab and international research organizations and developing them.
The present study aims to find out the reality of postgraduate students' use of printed learning resources and its role in serving the scientific research. The sample of the study is all postgraduate students enrolled in Tishreen University college s. The researcher has relied on the descriptive approach and used the questionnaire as a research tool in order to find out the reality of postgraduate students' use of printed learning resources and its role in serving the scientific research. The study has found that the most important printed sources used by the postgraduate students at Tishreen University are printed books, followed by periodicals. Moreover, there were statistically significant differences at (0.05) among the answers of the research sample members, Tishreen postgraduate students, concerning the services provided by the libraries of the scientific research, especially the printed sources, and regarding the difficulties of using the libraries in the scientific research, especially the printed sources, according to the variable of College Type. However, there were no statistically significant differences among the answers of the research sample members regarding the previous two topics according to the variable of the Academic Year.
The esearch aims to show the ways to develop the scientific research at Al Forat University – Al Hasska from teachers point of view. The sample of this research consists of (72)members which applied this research on them from different faculties a t Al Forat University –Al Hassaka .The instrument of this research is a questionnaire which consists of (4) chapters and (40) clauses to answers the main question: What is the ways of develop the scientific research at Al Forat University from teachers points of view?
The research aimed at recognize the degree of Commitment of Postgraduate Students with the Ethics of scientific research from the viewpoint the sample research, and recognize the significance of the differences between averages the teaching staff abo ut the degree of Commitment of Postgraduate Students with the Ethics of scientific research according to the variables the teaching staff (Faculty, study rank, years of experience). To achieve the objectives of the research, was applied questionnaire prepared for this purpose, consisted (50) items, which distributed for five areas (originality and innovation, objectivity, honesty, respectful, and the scientific humble). The questionnaire has been applied the research on sample (268) teaching staff during the academic year of (2015 - 2016); after the Validity and the Reliability was established.
This study aimed at identifying the reality of scientific research in Tishreen University from the perspective of postgraduate students in the Department of sociology, the study is divided into five key areas related to the process of scientific re search which are: services and facilities, scientific staff, financing of scientific research, scientific research and community development, and the quality of scientific research. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method, comprehensive inventory method for all postgraduate students. A questionnaire was designed and distributed to the members of the universe. Data had been analyzed with the help of SPSS programme, Likert quintuple scale was also used to answer the questionnaire, in addition the test of averages and factor analysis was applied. The result of data analysis showed that the dissatisfaction of postgraduate students in the Department of Sociology on the reality of scientific research in University, and that the services and facilities and financing of scientific research are the most important factors from the perspective of postgraduate students in the Department of Sociology.
This study aimed to identify the extent of using modern technologies for the purposes of scientific research by faculty members at Tishreen University, and the impact on the degree of psychological satisfaction they have. To achieve this, a random sa mple was selected of Tishreen University teachers, it consisted of 185 members. Questionnaire has been used as a tool to survey of members of the study sample after it was ascertained that the sincerity and persistence. The study results showed the low level of use of modern techniques in scientific research by faculty members at Tishreen University, and that the computer and Internet are in the front of technology most commonly used, then CDs and E-mail service came in the intermediate level, the video conference and mobile phone technique did not yet started as an assistant means in scientific research at the university. The results also show that the use of modern techniques in scientific research may help to raise the level of self-esteem among the members of the teaching staff and allow sufficient time for them to accomplish and complete the work as if their existence was optimal, in addition to that most of the sample members responses coincident with the availability of these technologies contributes also to know the results of their work and raise the level of positive appreciation by their departments, thus contributing to achieve an acceptable degree of job satisfaction, which is a form of psychological satisfaction. The findings also revealed the weakness of the technical equipment needed to conduct scientific research in the laboratories of the university, and a lack of awareness of its importance, in addition to existence technical problems accompany the (lack of regular maintenance and the lack of technicians and the necessary updates) and the lack of sufficient time for faculty members to carry out scientific research. The results showed the presence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the psychological satisfaction of the members of the teaching staff at Tishreen University due to the use of modern techniques for the purposes of scientific research variable depending on the sex and Grade and of experience years, while there were no differences according to the type faculty variable. The main recommendations of the study: equipping laboratories of faculties with modern techniques to help to conduct scientific research, and work on updated them and provide with the necessary maintenance constantly, and training the teaching staff members on how to use the techniques of scientific research.
This research deals with Legitimacy extent of medical work in non-therapeutic cases such as virgin patching, sex change, medical sterility, lease of uterus for reproduction with medical assistance, plastic surgery and scientific research and experime nts. The medical work is not legitimate in the previous cases, because it does not originally aim for therapy and cure, but it is possible that the medical work in the previous cases is legitimate if it is exceptionally aiming for therapy. The research concluded some results and recommendation, which may contribute in issuing required legal texts by the national legislator.
This research aims at identifying the obstacles facing graduate students when they use the Internet for the purposes of scientific research by answering the following questions: 1 - What are the obstacles faced by graduate students while using the Internet for research purposes? 2 - Is there a difference between the answers of graduate students as regardschallenging the obstacles they face when using the Internet for the purposes of scientific research? The research employs descriptive analytical method by using questionnaires composed of (30) distributed over three areas, the research found the following results: 1 - Most resolution phrases constituted obstacles to graduate students when using the Internet for the purposes of scientific research substantially and medium. 2 - There are no statistically significant differences between the mean of graduate students’ answers at the University of Damascus concerning their challenge for degrees of constraints of Internet use in scientific research; there are significant differences between the mean of students’ answers concerning their challenge for degrees of constraints of Internet use in scientific research due to the academic variable level in favor of Ph.D. students.
The purpose of the study was to identify the perceptions of faculty members at the Jordanian universities of their academic freedom, and to investigate its relationship with research output. The study population consisted of all 4789 faculty membe rs at the Jordanian universities, while the sample consisted of 510 faculty members. Data gathering were done by a questionnaire to identify perceptions held by faculty members regarding their academic freedom.
The recruiting of sciences is usually accompanied with reorganization of traditional research methods and preparation of new approaches and methods which lead to develop it. Through the process of human geography development, the theoretical and m ethodical bases of this science, essentially, expands and become deeper. The complexity of human geographical studies and their practical applications requires effective use of relative sciences' methods and enrichment the methodical inventory with new qualitative techniques.
