This study aimed to extract the psychometric characteristics of the Statistical Anxiety Scale when applied to a sample of graduate students the Faculty of Education, Tishreen University, to ensure the ability to using the statistical anxiety scale to
diagnose postgraduate students' statistical anxiety reliability. Statistical anxiety scale (which was translated by into Arabic Abou Hashem, 2002) has been applied on a sample of research postgraduate students in the courses phase and in the dissertation phase in the Faculty of Education at the Tishreen University. The study results indicate a high significant internal consistency and statistically significant of the scale items, the scale also enjoyed a high degree of reliability. The items that to cause concern were extracted from the sample, and were arranged according to the level of concern caused by calculating the specific weight of each item. It was verified of a set of hypotheses that confirmed the scale validity and reliability.

This study aimed at arranging the items of cognitive abilities test (primary battery)
by using Rash s one parameter model , In addition ,different forms for interpreting the
individuals level of ability were carried out. The test was conducted on a
sample of (1081)
students from Lattakia schools and kindergarten . using "SPSS" program and Winsteps for
statistical treatment in accordance with Rasch Model. The results showed the necessity of
omitting (38) items of cognitive abilities test because they were not fitting the model. The
remain items that were left were (172). And proved the validity and the reliability of the
test. Moreover, the present study form criteria for percentiles rank, T scores, and
standardized intelligent quiescent that equal for the different individual ability.
The aim of current research is to measuring the environmental awareness of Tishreen
University students, by using the "Environmental Awareness Scale" which had been
prepared by "Schahn" in its amended third form (1999) after being standardized on t
he
Syrian environment. The research aimed to identify the differences in the degrees of
environmental awareness among members of the research sample according to each of the
following variables: Faculty type (theoretical-practical), gender (males-females), and the
academic year. This research was conducted on a sample of (850) students (males-females)
in the University of Tishreen to extract the psychometric properties of the scale and to
check the significance of validity and reliability. The researchers used arbitrators' sincerity,
honesty, and internal consistency to verify the veracity of scale's statements. Reliability
was verified through consistency and repeated reliability, by using Cronbach's Alpha
equation by split-half. The results found out that the values of honesty and reliability
coefficients were high and statistically significant and demonstrated the validity of the
scale. It was also showed there were statistically significant differences in the level of
environmental awareness among male and female students. While no clear differences
were shown among students that were related to the college type and school year variables.
This study aims to extract the psychometric properties of the adult edition of
Toulouse self-esteem scale. The scale was translated from French to Arabic and it was
introduced to a set of Arabic language specialists to ensure good paraphrasing, and
then it
was re-translated to the original language (French) to ensure the accuracy of the
translation. The Scale was implemented on a random sample consisting of 500 adults in
Latakia city. The study results indicate a high level of validity of the scale and high degree
scale of reliability identical with the statistical indicators to of the French version of the
scale. Subsequently a series of hypotheses was tested which showed that there was no
difference between male and female means degrees on the scale except the social self field.
Also, it was found that there are statistical differences by educational level of respondents
in favor of postgraduate and graduate degrees. The differences on scale dimensions
according to the taxonomic variables (gender and educational level) were studied too. The
research suggested further studies on the scale in different environments and the necessity
to be used in educational and psychological fields.
This study aims to extract the psychometric properties of the Adolescent edition of
Toulouse self-esteem scale. The scale was translated from French to Arabic and it was
introduced to a set of Arabic language specialists to ensure good paraphrasing
, and then it
was back-translated to the original language (the French) to ensure the accuracy of the
translation. The Scale was implemented on a random sample consisting of 466 adolescents
in Lattakia city. The study results indicate a high level of validity of the scale and high
degree scale of reliability identical with the statistical indicators to of the French version of
the scale. Subsequently, hypothesis were tested to check whether there is a difference
between male and female scores on the scale. Differences in the dimension of the social
self were found. The research concluded to suggest the need for further studies on the scale
in different environments and the need of using it in educational and psychological fields.
This research aimed at analyzing the factorial structure of
Tennesse Standard of the self-concept (the edition of adults) after
applying it on two samples from Tishreen university students
(applied faculties- theoretical faculties).
The present study aimed to extract the Indicators of Validity and Reliability of the
Toulouse Self-Esteem Scale - Children's Copy. The Scale was translated from French to
Arabic and presented to a group of Arabic language specialists to ensure that
the wording
is correct, after which a counter-translation into the original language (French) was
performed to ensure the accuracy of the translation. The scale was applied to a random
sample of 413 children in Lattakia. The results of the study showed a high level of
accuracy with a high degree of stability (repeatability of 0.776 and alpha-cronbach 0.81 ),
identical to the statistical indicators of the Scale in its French version. A hypothesis was
then tested as to whether there was a difference between the average male and female
scores on the scale. It was found that there was a difference on the macro scale, the
dimensions of social self-sufficiency and school self-interest for females. And 71.4% of
individuals are at the high level of self-esteem.
The research concluded that more studies on the scale should be carried out in
different settings and should be used in the fields of education and psychology
This study aimed to investigating the prevalence of Cornell Critical Thinking Test
Level (x) on a sample of talented students in the national Centre for the distinguished
(NCD) in Syria, and to identify the levels of critical thinking among talente
d students, and
whether these differed according to (students’ gender, academic level), the sample
consisted of (167) talented students, the results showed that the participants exhibited an
average level of Critical Thinking, and no Significant differences were found due to
gender, the results also revealed that Significant differences were found due to academic
level for the third academic level.
These papers aim to study the estimation of the simple linear regression equation
coefficients using the least square method at different sample sizes and different sampling
methods. And so on, the main goal of this research is to try to determine
the optimum size
and the best sampling method for these coefficients. We used experimental data for a
population consist of 2000 students from different schools all over the country. We had
changed the sample size each time and calculate the coefficients and then compare these
coefficients for different sample sizes with their coefficients of the real population; and the
results have been shown that the estimation of the linear regression equation coefficients
are close from the real values of the coefficients of the regression line equation for the
population when the sample size closes the value (325). As it turns out that the Stratified
random sampling with proportional distribution with class sizes gives the best and most
accurate results to estimate linear regression equation with least square method.
