The current study aims at revealing the body dysmorphic disorder and its relation to self-esteem among cosmetic surgery clinic visitors in the county of Homs in the light of the following independent variables: sex and age, using the correlative d escriptive methodology. For the purpose of achieving the goals of the study, the researcher applied the body dysmorphic disorder criterion together with the self-esteem criterion to a sample of 200 visitors to the cosmetic surgery clinics.
The aim of this research is to know the relationship between altruistic and psychological, social and self concept of students of Damascus University, and detect differences in study variables according to the variable sex, in order to achieve the objectives of the study were altruistic application of preparation of menkhi (1995), and self concept scale preparation of Baker (1979) and the design of social psychological scale, and apply the tools of Damascus University students consisted of 230 students (294) from the various faculties of the University of Damascus.
This study aimed to define the relationship between autonomy needs and concept of the self among faculty of education students in AI-Baath university, and whether there differences between males and females in achieving autonomy needs in concept o f the self and its subsidiary effects. The sample of the studying consisted of (184) students (80) males and 104 females), had been selected randomly among students in faculty of education in Baath university "Homs".The researcher used the measurement of autonomy needs, prepared by researcher and concept of the self prepared by Maria Hamed.The researcher used the following statistical methods: arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and t- student test.
This study aims to identify self-concept in a sample of amputation cases by the war on Syria in Lattakia province in relation to some variables such as social status and the place of amputation. To achieve this purpose, the self-concept test was pr epared by the researcher, which consisted of (10) cases who suffer from amputation, and was applied on the sample. The results of this study showed that there were no statical significant differences in self-concept of a sample of amputation cases after war due to the variable of social status and the variable of the place of amputation.
The research highlights the significance of studying and assessing the multidimensional concept of the self so as to guarantee the psychological health of the individuals who form the basis of a well-being society, and its essential role in persona lity development that positively reflects on society. It tends to make certain whether the concept of the self changes according to sex and residence. A few theories and approaches on the definition of the self have been mentioned, next to the potential difficulties while assessing such a concept.
This research aims at present to detect the relationship between school social behavior and self-concept among a sample of students in Second graders secondary, and the study of the differences between the gender (male and female) in the search varia bles (school social behavior, self-concept). And the research community schools of secondary education governmental organizations in the area Sehnaya, who are students of second grade secondary school (15-17 years), have been withdrawn sample randomly, which amounted to (90) students (45 males + 45 females), and the researcher used the following tools: 1 – a measure of school social behavior, 2 - self-concept scale, after that she has tested Validity and reliability, The researcher followed the descriptive analytical method so as to its relevance to the nature of the research،she has developed a set of hypotheses and Results came as following:1- There is a statistically significant relationship between the school social behavior and self-concept among the sample search.2- There were statistically significant differences in the school social behavior depending on gender for the sample of the male.3- There are statistically significant differences in self-concept depending on the gender for the sample of the male. In light of these findings researcher presented a set of proposals the most important was further studies and research on the school social behavior and its relationship to some psychological variables in the various educational stages (elementary, university) and the need to develop outreach programs designed to give teenagers the proper methods to learn correct school social behaviors and that lead to develop a positive self-concept.
The study aims to determine the effect of a group counseling (Rogers), accompanied with biofeedback and relaxation training in reducing the degree of stress caused by the teaching profession and some other variables ,trait anxiety, self-concept, blood pressure, and heart rate.
