Most of the villages and rural towns, in general, and in Latakia, in particular, suffer from poor transport organizing and Serving of people so that travelling has become a great suffering for most people. After studying the transport situation bet ween Jableh and Latakia, we found that this city suffers from transport problems like other cities. This is because of transport poor management and regulation including timing, the number of vehicles available and inability to meet demand, which causes a deterioration in service quality. The research provided a comprehensive method to evaluate the performance of public transport on the road by evaluating travel time, the journey speed, and the buses volume and frequency. Considering these indicators as a criterion for evaluating the performance of public transport to determine the most effective factors regarding the quality of performance of public transport and improve this performance in future. A field and practical study of the research has been conducted, which includes selecting of study sites, collecting engineering and traffic data, designing of questionnaires and distributing them on random passengers and drivers working on Jableh - Lattakia transportation road to find out their opinions. Then the data has been inserted into SPSS Statistics Base program for analyzing the results. The research has concluded that the performance of public transport between Jableh and Latakia is generally weak, and the largest proportion of passengers depend on their mobility on minibuses, which does not satisfy the required transportation level. Therefore, a range of solutions has been developed depending on local conditions which will ease the burden of mobility and raise the transportation performance level.
The importance of this research lies in establishing an integrated system to support decision making of bituminous road surface maintenance in Lattakia within the environment of Geographic Information Systems, which leads to improve the level of p erformance and reach better conditions of road safety and comfort. In a former research, the bituminous surface condition data was conducted and filled in the Asphalt Institute Form by which we obtained an overall condition rating that led in turn to the type of maintenance of each studied segment and link them to the digitized maps where every segment appeared in a color reflecting its condition according to the purpose of the map. In this research we depended on the " Project Priority Methodology " to view and query different alternatives to support decision making of which road segments should be maintained first by using five categories each one gives us a weighing value, then we collected the total weighed value for the five categories together, and link that to digitized maps that guaranteed fast and direct reach to various solutions to choose the best, insuring as a result that the traditional way in maintenance which begins with the worst segment is not always the best, and that its time to move towards new pavement maintenance management systems.
Blast load caused emptying a large amount of energy very quickly parts of the second causing a significant increase of pressure, in addition to generating high temperatures because of the high speed often ends local effects of the explosion before the bridge begins to respond, which causing major damage in the bridge. Most of bridge design codes didn’t take in account during design the blast load, as well there are no codes inspection on bridges the blast load. The research aims to study and to facilitate the understanding of damages caused by explosion load on elements of road bridges through the facts of explosion and photographs the cases of damages occurring practical and realistic, and also through some computer models. It has been in the research review the impact of the blast load on the slab bridges. The distinction between the case of the impact of the blast load at top and bottom of slab bridge. So the case of the bombing at the top slab bridge leading to increase the binding moments and shear forces, in against the case of blasting at the bottom of slab bridges leads to act opposite load for design loads. Also studied blast load on bridge beams and illustrated resulting addional cross sections. Also explained the effect of blast load on bridge piers and abutments, and the forms of caused damages.
Most of the villages and rural communities are suffering, particularly in Tartous region, of poor organization of transport and serve the people. Therefore the movement between rural and city become a great suffering for most people. This research presents an evaluation the quality of public transport on rural transport network based on a set of indicators and quantitative criteria that show us the case or the quality of rural transport, And it identify the most effective and appropriate criteria to the evaluation operation. In addition, take procedure to increase the effectiveness of service performance. This study was conducted on Tartous- Al dreikish axis which passes in steep mountainous area in some areas is what makes the subject of improving the performance of the public transport system on this axis is an important issue contribute to facilitate the traffic and transport, and reducing accidents on the many junctions. In this research will be to provide analysis, draw conclusions and make suggestions to the problem in this study.
The primary objective of this research is to assess the state of the road accidents’ data currently collected by using traditional text reports in the Syrian Arab Republic. The followed approach consisted of two main steps: (1) Developing a compr ehensive road accident report template which contains all data items that should collected from a road accident . (2) Digitizing data from randomly selected traditional road accident text reports into a computer database developed based on the accident report template established in step 1.

This research related to the reappointment of the main roads and railways in the event of loss (Axis elements in the horizontal projected: Straight lines. Circular curves. Between these two elements are introduced Transit Curves), and also rehabili tation, commensurate with the developments taking place in the present time. The program is designed to also facilitate this work using the language of MATLAB. There are several questions present themselves: - What are the requirements for work (Field or desktop)? - What are the proposals for the development of the current reality of the road network and railways in the study area and rehabilitation? - What are the tools that allow transfer of theoretical study to a realistic work progress on the ground?
This research highlights the vital role of Pavement Management Systems integrated with Geographic Information Systems in planning and managing road maintenance in Lattakia, and getting a flexible local system by following a new method in processing a nd viewing information that supports maintenance decision. This study included applying a pilot project for managing pavement maintenance over a group of roads following The General Establishment for Road Communications. Those roads were divided to links and segments then evaluated using the " Asphalt Institute Method ", which gave us a numeric pointer that led in turn to the type of maintenance needed for a particular pavement. In this research, we depended on the Geographic Information Systems to design and build a comprehensive database, that reflected the present condition of the studied roads, and enabled us to store, analyze and document pavement surface condition and link it to the digitized maps of the studied roads. This guaranteed easy and direct access to various kinds of data and solutions as every segment appeared in a different color reflecting its conditions according to the theme of the map. By doing so, we could support the process of taking right maintenance decisions.
