The decision-making process is the most important topics of
operations research, which offers methods and tools to assist
decision makers in reaching resolution.
Research overture applied and analytic study for decision making

This research aims at present to detective the correlation
between Irrational Beliefs the and Decision-Making, as well as to
detect differences between the average scores students at the scale
of Irrational Beliefs and a measure of Decision-Making
among
faculty members according to the (scholastic year) among the
students of the Damascus university. To achieve this goal has been
to use the following tools: Questionnaire to measure the Irrational
Beliefs of the preparation of Ratibe (2001), And a questionnaire to
measure Decision-Making of the preparation of researcher. The
study sample consists of (341) male and female students from
Damascus university.
The most important findings of Search:
- There were correlation statistically negative significant between
the scores of students on the scale of Irrational Beliefs and grades
on a scale of Decision-Making.
-There were differences between the mean scores of students on
the scale of Irrational Beliefs due to the variable scholastic year
favor first year.
- There were differences between the mean scores of students on
the scale of Decision-Making due to the variable scholastic year
favor four year
The research aims to learn more about management styles prevalent
among secondary school principals from the perspective of teachers.
And know the level of participation of teachers in the decisionmaking
process. And defines the relationship betwe
en the
management styles of the managers of secondary education and
decision-making process. And know the differences between the
scores of the answers sample individuals to identify patterns and to
identify administrative decision depending on the variables of
research: (qualification, years of experience). And adopted a
researcher on the analytical descriptive approach, and the researcher
used a questionnaire to measure patterns of four administrative
behavior patterns, and to identify the decision. The sample search of
(246) and a school teacher of teachers of secondary education in the
province of Damascus.
The main issue of research is to reveal the effect of family
socialization on youths' participation in making and taking – decision
inside the family. The research is also an attempt to highlight the ways of
socialization which is followed in upbr
inging of youths inside family. It
also aims to support the good behaviours and give up the unfruitful ones.
These things, in my point of view, would support the research.
The research is going to achieve a group of goals such as:
· knowing the extent of youth participation in taking – decisions inside
the family.
· Knowing the ways of socialization which take place in family.
· Revealing the right ways of socialization which enable the youths of
an active participation in different community's activities.
· knowing the difficulties which stand in the face of youths to take part
in taking – decision inside the family.
This research focuses on an important sector of the national economy sectors, which
is the industrial sector and, especially engineering industry. This research aims to explain
the importance of using research operations methods in the process of d
ecision- making,
especially in choosing optimal product mix in engineering companies in the Syrian coast.
These methods play an essential role in making scientific and logical decisions to solve
problems which face decision-makers in these companies. They provide a set of
alternatives that help decision-makers on choosing the best alternative among available
alternatives set to solve the problem that face them. This positively influences the work of
these companies, which, in turn, positively influences their role in industry and national
economy.
The researcher found to following results:
- Using research operations methods requires a definition of these methods, availability
of proper financial support, suitable work nature, availability of required data and
availability of computers.
- Using research operations methods helps to improve the decision-making process in
choosing optimal product mix through decreasing production costs, optimal using of
available resources, optimal investment of production power.
In this article, we propose a mathematical model, fundamentally based on evidence theory in
order to process and to combine the information elements coming from different sources of
information in a security system. These elements could be heteroge
neous (qualitative,
quantitative, ordinal, binary … etc.) and imperfect (imprecise, ambiguous, probable, missing
values … etc.). Along with the heterogeneity and the imperfection, we must consider the case
bases that contain security cases with solutions to help us to make decisions as supplementary
sources of information (this is called in machine learning field ''case-based reasoning'').
Furthermore, the proposed method must consider the conflict and the contradictory resulting
from the different sources of evidence. The afore-mentioned issues will be explained through an
illustrative numeric example to clarify the proposed model.
Introduction: As nursing develop with regard to science, knowledge & practice and nursing responsibilities increase, critical thinking- the ability to question and make rational decisions- becomes even more important. Whereas, critical thinking requi
res that all thoughts and actions be examined objectively, in patient care almost all actions require decision making, and problem solving. Critical thinking is an essential element in decision making which involves choices, and problem solving which requires analysis. Through critical thinking skills, a nurse manager can become a transformational leader. She can challenge the routine nursing practices now, develop a more robust understanding of any problem underlying causes, and develop her leadership skills as well as develop more creative solutions when using critical thinking. Although, critical thinking skills are more important but there were few studies both English and Arabic and there was no study in Syria concerned with critical thinking skills that must used by nurse mangers to do their role effectively, for that this study was conducted and aimed to assess critical thinking skills of nurse managers in Al- Assad university hospital and Al- Wattany hospital in Lattakia. The study was conducted in Al- Assad university and Al- Wattany hospitals in Lattakia. Whereas, The study sample consisted of 21 nurse managers , and 80 nurses from both hospitals. The results of this study showed that there were positive convergence between nurses 'viewpoints and nurse managers ' viewpoints in both hospitals and that nurse managers used critical thinking skills in their practice.
The research aims to identify the nature of the relationship between the
level of ambition and decision-making among a sample of first year
students at the University of Damascus, revealing the significance of
differences in performance on the lev
el of ambition scale and
attributed to two variables: Gender and competence among the
research sample, revealing the significance of differences in
performance on a scale of decision-making which is attributed to two
variables: Gender and competence among the research sample. The
sample totaled 170 students, 70 males and 100 females from the firstyear
students in the University of Damascus. And may researcher used
a questionnaire to the level of ambition and a questionnaire to make
the decision, two of the prepared after making sure of their sincerity
and steadfastness.
This research aims to evaluate the relationship between using the
quantitive methods in decisions making and improving the performance
in the industrial engineering companies in the Syrian coast , The
importance of these methods and they are large
role that its playing in
making scientific and logical decisions to solving problems, which faces
decision makers in these companies. These methods provide a set of
alternatives that help decision makers to choose the best alternative
among these available alternatives to solve the problem that face them,
this reflects positively on the performance of these companies, and their
role on industry.
The importance of this research lies in establishing an integrated system to support
decision making of bituminous road surface maintenance in Lattakia within the
environment of Geographic Information Systems, which leads to improve the level of
p
erformance and reach better conditions of road safety and comfort.
In a former research, the bituminous surface condition data was conducted and filled
in the Asphalt Institute Form by which we obtained an overall condition rating that led in
turn to the type of maintenance of each studied segment and link them to the digitized
maps where every segment appeared in a color reflecting its condition according to the
purpose of the map.
In this research we depended on the " Project Priority Methodology " to view and
query different alternatives to support decision making of which road segments should be
maintained first by using five categories each one gives us a weighing value, then we
collected the total weighed value for the five categories together, and link that to digitized
maps that guaranteed fast and direct reach to various solutions to choose the best, insuring
as a result that the traditional way in maintenance which begins with the worst segment is
not always the best, and that its time to move towards new pavement maintenance
management systems.
