Leadership characteristics are pivotal for the personality and performance of head nursesas evident by many research studies which showed the influence ofleadership characteristics on organizational outcomes that related to , performance, job satisfaction, as well as the effectiveness of teamwork. The study aimsis to assess the personal leadership characteristics of head nurses in Banias National Hospital and Tartous Cardiac Surgery Center. The study results showed that head nurses rated themselves highly on loyalty, experience and knowledge, whilst nursing staff rated their head nurses highly on professional appearance, and least regarding the following leadership traits: trusting their teams, empathy, and compassion which concurred with self-rating of head nurses. Head nurses also rated themselves highly and significantly higher than staff rating on communication skills followed by managerial skills, motivational skills and finally problem solving and decision making skills.

Introduction:The nurse manager role and how it is carried out in healthcare organizations has been an important topic which had emphasized by many international organizations and institutions during the past two decades. Thus, this role had impact on nursing staff, other healthcare providers, patients and on healthcare environment as whole. To carry out her duties, nurse manager needs to build up and improve her personal skills and leadership competencies continuously. This by depending on international competency standards which developed by international organizations and institutions to be the basic to assess and improve nurse managers competency. Depending on these standards, this study was conducted and aimed to assess nurse managers' competency in implementing international competency standards in Al- Assad university hospital and Al- Wattany hospital at Lattakia. Thestudy was conducted on Al- Assad university and Al- Wattany hospitals at Lattakia. Whereas, The study sample consisted of 21 nurse managers , and 80 nurses from two hospitals. The main results ofthis study was that there was agreement between nurses 'viewpoints and nurse managers' viewpoint in both hospitals on nurse managers' implementation of international competencies standards.
This study was carried out in AL-ASSAD and Tishreen University Hospitals during the years 2013-2015, and included 174 patients who have been treated. Male: Female ratio was 1:2, and the average age of the sample of patients was 63. Introduction: As nursing develop with regard to science, knowledge & practice and nursing responsibilities increase, critical thinking- the ability to question and make rational decisions- becomes even more important. Whereas, critical thinking requi res that all thoughts and actions be examined objectively, in patient care almost all actions require decision making, and problem solving. Critical thinking is an essential element in decision making which involves choices, and problem solving which requires analysis. Through critical thinking skills, a nurse manager can become a transformational leader. She can challenge the routine nursing practices now, develop a more robust understanding of any problem underlying causes, and develop her leadership skills as well as develop more creative solutions when using critical thinking. Although, critical thinking skills are more important but there were few studies both English and Arabic and there was no study in Syria concerned with critical thinking skills that must used by nurse mangers to do their role effectively, for that this study was conducted and aimed to assess critical thinking skills of nurse managers in Al- Assad university hospital and Al- Wattany hospital in Lattakia. The study was conducted in Al- Assad university and Al- Wattany hospitals in Lattakia. Whereas, The study sample consisted of 21 nurse managers , and 80 nurses from both hospitals. The results of this study showed that there were positive convergence between nurses 'viewpoints and nurse managers ' viewpoints in both hospitals and that nurse managers used critical thinking skills in their practice.
The leadership plays pivotal role in any organization, where the success and the failure of all resources in organization depends upon. It is the starting point and the end of any organization, whatever its shape. Therefore, it was necessary to focus the studies in the subject of leadership, and leadership traits that should be characterized by it In order to be more effective. Therefore, the goal of this study is to recognize on the preferred leadership traits for Administrators in tourist organization. The questionnaire, which includes 39 traits of leadership, was distributed on 82-administration leader in tourist organizations in Tartous. The analysis has been using the spss program. We arrange the traits from the most preferred to the least preferred, and the results were as follows: The first group includes the first ten traits most favored and its arranged according to their preference from the top to the lowest as follows: take responsibility and experience, Justice, problem solving, efficiency, boldness in decision-making, setting a good example, time management, strength of character, attention to training, guidance. The second group-Vitality activity- Clear style- Honest-Persuasiveness –Good appearance-Respect for others-Planning-Encourage teamwork -Self, Confident –Faithfulness-Enthusiasm-Courageous-Wisdom-Knowledgeable-Exchange views. The third group Independence-change and development- patience- intelligence -the ambition-quiet-devolution of powers-flexibility-affiliation-control and monitoring-beams-humility-human relationships.
The leadership traits is one of the distinguished characteristics of the personality of the soccer referee that help him perform his duties in the game under the multiple pressures circumstances, so it was to identify the relation between the these features and the referee's performance may help to raise the level of performance which is the main objective of this study that applied to 24 international and federal Syrian soccer referees, the descriptive method of correlation study style is used. The study concludes that the degree of leadership traits of the referees is a high degree. The study also found that socialization feature is the most successful one, and that the performance of the referees' degree is very good the study also concludes that there is a positive insignificant correlation between the degrees of leadership traits and the degree of performance.
