Being and Event is the title of the most prominent book of the French philosopher
Alain Badiou, but it’s also a title of an entire philosophical space. Between the two sides of
this title, the philosophy has reorganized all the traditional philosop
hical concepts,
especially the truth and the subject. In this context, Badiou’s philosophy is particularly
affluent, because it returned back to the very beginning of the philosophy, and launched a
discussion with the most eminent philosophical moments in the history of philosophy. In
this article, we represent the outlines of this philosopher’s doctrine, it’s the first
representation of its kind in Arabic, and we discuss the most important topics he put up,
especially the political ones.
This study aimed to identify the relationship between the logical mathematical
thinking and the ability to solve mathematical issue to the eighth –grade primary students
and to achieve this goal , the researcher applying the test logical mathematic
al thinking and
test the ability to solve mathematical issue prepared by the researcher reaching study
sample (150) students from the eighth grade in the main city of Lattakia .
The results showed a strong correlation direct relationship between the scores of
students (male\ female) to test the logical mathematical thinking and their scores on the
ability to solve mathematical issue where this relationship suggest that the greater the
degree of the students in the test of logical thinking increased their scores in the ability to
solve Test Sports matter . And because the mathematical proof is a tool for thinking logical
sense and flour among students is based on a holistic yiew and a careful analysis of the
elements of the issue and then re-installed flexibly .
The study suggested the need to develop educational programs that contribute to the
development of mathematical reasoning among students , which may help in developing
their skills in mathematical proof , and training teachers in the development of logical
thinking , and provide the necessary training courses before and during service.
The present study aimed at evaluating the styles of the mathematics teachers which
help to develop thinking skills of the sixth grade students at the basic education in Lattakia,
and it also aimed at examining the significance of differences among
the means average of
teachers who practice the encourage methods to thinking skills of students according to
variables of (gender, Experience and the scientific qualification). To achieve this goal, the
descriptive approach was used. And an assessment scale of the teacher's style of
developing thinking was prepared for evolution. After proving its validity and stability
according to the known statistical methods, the scale was applied to a sample of 30
teachers (males and females).
The results were as follows:
- The degree of mathematics teachers concerning their practices of developing
thinking methods of the of the sixth graders at the basic education in Lattakia was (54.2%)
which was represented first by providing the interactive social environment (58.4%), and
second it was represented to (53.6%) for the method of listening to students and respecting
their views whatever they were simple, and third it was represented to (51%) concerning
the teacher' using modern to modern teaching strategies.
- There are no statistical significant differences between the teachers' responses on
the teacher practice scale of developing thinking methods due to the variable of gender,
scientific certificate, and the years of experience.
The two researchers suggested developing of the mathematics guide book of the
sixth grade, and developing programs of preparing and training teachers to improve the
levels of thinking by students such as analysis, synthesis, criticism and weight-bearing
skills, in addition to holding training sessions to in-service teachers in order to activate the
teaching practices methods that encourage developing thinking, and they also suggested
applying similar studies depending on the observation card at different teaching stages by
other subjects teachers.
This study aims to investigate the effect of using the sixth learning strategy on the
achievement of the basic tenth grade female students in Mathematics, and on their attitudes
towards it. The study tries to answer the following questions: 1) what
is the effect of using
the sixth learning strategy on the achievement of the basic tenth grade female students in
Mathematics? 2) What is the effect of using the sixth learning strategy on attitudes of the
basic tenth grade female students towards Mathematics?
The sample was consist of (80) students selected purposely, and distributed randomly
into two groups, experimental group (40) students, and control group (40) students, to
achieve the purpose of the study, two instruments were designed, achievement test,
andattitudes scale. Their Validity and Reliability were verified.
The research aim to know the impact of using puzzles in the
development of critical thinking with pupils in the fourth grade
basic In mathematics, to achieve this goal, The researcher set up
(22) Puzzles mystery spread over seven lessons are(Angle
s,
Rectangle and square, Surroundings of rectangle and square,
Rectangle and square area, Height and distance, Mass, Capacity),
The research sample consisted of (61) male and female students
from the School of Abdul Karim Al Ragab, Divided into
experimental group numbered (30) pupils have been taught by
mathematical puzzles, And a control group numbered (31) pupils
have been taught in the traditional way, The study tool is a test of
critical thinking and test consisted of (24) items, distributed evenly
over the four skills of critical thinking, It follows: The skill of the
possibility of the right solution, interpretation Skill.
This research aims to stand at the mathematics teacher and the
requirements of preparing specifications, in the light of international
standards, and then get to know the reality of mathematics teacher at
the Faculty of Science of the Baath Univer
sity set up a model and
stand at the goals and modalities of the program accredited courses
followed in his rehabilitation, in order to develop these programs in
the light of new educational roles of the teacher and in light of the
approved global trends in its preparation is a measure to evaluate the
preparation of mathematics teacher and rehabilitation program in
accordance with the standards, , and moving search according to
two windows: the first frame: analytical and descriptive math’s
teacher requirements and prepared to develop programs accordance
to these requirements, frame II: a field application is through a
measure to evaluate the current program setup math teachers in the
Faculty of Science of the Baath University, according to the
opinions of a sample in the faculty, and students teachers of
Mathematics.
The study aimed to identify types of questions (Problems, Objective,
Short Answers), knowing at comprehension extent of questions to the
domains: the affective, psychomotor, and cognitive, and distribution
extent of cognitive questions on level of cognitive domain in a content of
Mathematics two textbooks, determinants for the Second Grad from basic
Education in Syria.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the twelfth grade (science
stream) mathematics textbook from the teachers’ perspective in light of
(the economy of knowledge). The study also explored the effect of
gender and experience within the sample.
The sample consisted of 75
male and female teachers all of whom were randomly selected from
government schools in the five directorates in Amman during the
academic year of 2009/2010. In order to achieve the purpose of this
study, the researcher developed a questionnaire that was made up of 30
items which were distributed over 5 domains. The results revealed that 4
of these domains received high scores (high quality) in which the average
was over 3.7. However, the content domain received the lowest scores
(medium quality). In addition, the results showed that there were no
statistical differences in the sample with regard to gender. On the other
hand, there were statistical differences regarding the teachers’ experience
wherein the more experienced teachers gave a higher evaluation of the
textbook than the less experienced ones.
This study aimed at examining the effect of using manipulatives in the
mathematical achievement of the first graders at UNRWA schools in
Jerash area in Jordan. The sample of the study consisted of 155 students
representing four sections, who were
divided into two groups: An
experimental group which was taught “numbers from 0-9” subjects using
manipulatives, and a control group which was taught by the traditional
method. After the completion of the study application, an achievement
test was applied and a 2-way ANOVA analysis was used to test the
hypotheses of the study.
The study results revealed that there were statistically significant
differences between the two groups in favor of the experimental group,
which was taught by using manipulatives; whereas there were no
significant differences between students’ marks due to sex or the
interaction between group and sex.
