This research aims at present to detective the correlation between Irrational Beliefs the and Decision-Making, as well as to detect differences between the average scores students at the scale of Irrational Beliefs and a measure of Decision-Making among faculty members according to the (scholastic year) among the students of the Damascus university. The purpose of the research is to identify the correlation between selfaffirmation and decision-making, and to find out the differences between the average grade of university students and the members of the research sample on the scale of self-affirmation and decision making according to the gender variable and the academic specialization.
The research aims to identify the nature of the relationship between the level of ambition and decision-making among a sample of first year students at the University of Damascus, revealing the significance of differences in performance on the lev el of ambition scale and attributed to two variables: Gender and competence among the research sample, revealing the significance of differences in performance on a scale of decision-making which is attributed to two variables: Gender and competence among the research sample. The sample totaled 170 students, 70 males and 100 females from the firstyear students in the University of Damascus. This study aims to identify the relationship between self- Consciousness and the irrational thoughts and how this relationship may vary on the basis of sexual differentiation. The sample of the study consists of (330) students from the first second ary class (150 male, 180 female). The study has used the self- Consciousness scale (Fenigstein, et.al., 1975) and the irrational thoughts scale (Al-mougharbel, 2010). The findings indicate that there is a statistically significant relationship between the private and the public selfconsciousness along with the irrational thoughts. In addition, there are differences in self- Consciousness resulting from sexual differentiation and are in favor of females. There are also no differences in the irrational thoughts depending on the basis of sexual differentiation.
