The aim of the research was to evaluate the role of the head nurses in documenting, evaluating and reviewing the performance of nursing staff at Tishreen University Hospital from the point of view of nursing staff. Random sample was used , it consi sted of 50% of the nursing staff at Tishreen University Hospital during the application of the research there number (300 ) nurses. A developed tool for collecting information was used based on recent research literature, and data were collected and analyzed using SPSS version (20). The most important results were that the evaluation of the role of the head nurses was at moderate level in documenting and evaluating the performance of the nursing staff, while the evaluation of the research sample for the role of the head nurses in reviewing their performance was at a good level.
Medication errors are the most common medical errors, which may cause complications in patients, nursing staff are the first one who deal with these errors, so the current descriptive study aim to identify the factors leading to the Medication erro rs at Tishreen University Hospital from the Point of view of 48 nurses working at internal department by using suitable tool for the study object. The study found that the most important factors that lead to medication errors are the inability to read instructions because of the poor doctor's line, Inability to interpret physician order correctly, the Heavy workload and fatigue, tension and Lack of sleep, and interruption and Distract during Work by someone else, inconvenience during work. The study recommended to establishment of educational courses for the nursing staff in the hospital on the subject of the factors causing the Medication errors and ways to prevent their effects, to inform the doctors and nurses working at hospital about the results of this study, put these results in the consideration of policy makers of the hospital to develop rules and strategies that exceed the impact of these factors to include Patient safety, and similar studies in several hospitals to ascertain the results of the study.
The purpose of the study was to assess the role of the head nurses in managing the performance of the nursing staff at Tishreen University Hospital from the point of view of the nursing staff and the head nurses. The sample that have been used was av ailable of the head nurses and the simple randomness of the nursing staff and was composed of 55.5% of head nurses and their number was (30) head nurses And 50% of the nursing staff participating in the Tishreen University Hospital during the application of the research and their number was (300) nurse. An improved tool for gathering information was used based on recent research literatures, and data were collected and analyzed using SPSS version 20. The most important results: The assessment of the role of head nurses in managing staff performance at Tishreen University Hospital in general was in a good level.
Recent descriptive study was conducted to identify occupational stressors among emergency department nurses and unites in three governmental hospitals in Latakia.
The study aimed to assess the clinical supervision from viewpoint of students of Nursing Faculty in Tishreen University. The study sample consisted of 350 students, randomly selected from the students of Nursing Faculty in The four academic years, who were existed during the period of data collection. The researcher developed the tool of assessing clinical supervision depending on up-to date references, and the tool consisted of three axis: axis of training process management, educational axis, and supportive or motivation axis & students' satisfaction with clinical supervision. The main results of the study were there was a few difference between negative and positive viewpoints of students toward supervision on them in clinical training. Whereas, students' assessment was more positive in axis of training process management, while it was more negative in the remaining axis (educational axis, supportive or motivation axis, and students' satisfaction with clinical supervision.
Nursing is considered to be one of the most stressful professions among the human services professions, it need compassion and involvement beyond physical care giving. Nurses have tremendous responsibilities and deal with enormous challenges, Burno ut is one of these challenges, it is characterized by decreasing energy, power and resources in the presence of excessive demands. It is one of the factors which influence the efficiency and productivity of the workers and staff in every field. Aim: This descriptive study was aimed to assess burnout among 135 nurses, were randomly chosen, working in various section of Al-Assad university hospital. The data were collected by using a translated version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey. Results: Showed high levels of burnout among nurses as general Nurses working in Emergency Room, Intensive Care, Operation Room with Baccholrius degree had high level of Emotional Exhaustio (EE). Nurses young people experienced high level of Depronalization (D). Nurses working in night shift showed low level of Personal Accomplishment (PA(.No statistical significance was found between burnout and gende, marital status, work experience. Conclusions: this problem must be studied more deeply and related factors should be recognized in order to reduce burn out among nurses. Many affected aspects of nurse's job should be noticed and appropriate intervention should be conducted.

Each health care organisation has certain characteristics in terms of activities and work methods, that differentiate areorganisation from the other. These characteristics represent the work environment that nurses work within. Nursing work environ ment received an international attention recentlyspecial emphasis on the importance of improvinghospitals environment for its influence on organizational and individuals outcomes such as absence of nurses, job dissatisfaction, nursing turnover , Burnout ,intention to leave the profession workplace, nursing represents an important part of an essential element in the system of health care, work in the pressing environment can affect the psychological health and arrival at Burnout .This study aim to study the impact of nursing work environment on nurse’ burnout in critical care units in government hospital settings in Lattakia. The study showed that the environment of nursing work environment is unfavorable, from the point of view of more than half of the nursing staff participating in the study 2,where the highest scoring of subscale was:/nurse physician communications skills/ and lowest scoring of subscale was/nurse foundations for quality of care/ ,well as the study showed the existence of a direct relationship between the work environment unfavorable and burnout , and the work environment in all its dimensions affect the burnout, where after /nurse manager's ability, leadership, and support of nurses/ where the most influential dimensions in the nurse’ burnout, while /nurse-physician communications skills/ the less influential dimensions in the development of nurse’ burnout, on , study showed that there is a link between each of the dimensions of the an environment nursing work and dimensions of the burnout, where that the / nurse foundations for quality of care/ importance of its role more than the impact in raising the rate of emotional exhaustion, while after /nurse participation in organization affairs/ of the importance of its role more than the dimensions of the work environment impact in raising the rate of depersonalization, as it was after the / adequacy of resources and nurses/ more than the dimensions of the work environment impact in reducing the proportion of personal achievement.
Considered inadequate maternity care during pregnancy and delivery largely responsible for the big annual losses for each of the parturient mothers and their newborns. So this study aimed to assess the midwives knowledge regarding the management of s econd stage of labor, and to find out the association between their knowledge and personal data during second stage of labor. This descriptive study was conducted in three hospitals at lattakia city, on a sample of 160 midwife. Results of the study showed that the level of midwives information to the second stage of labor was average, and the study of the impact of personal data on the level of midwives information about the second stage of labor show a statistically significant relationship between age and the level of Midwives Information, and between educational level and the level of their knowledge. The study also showed that There were no statistically significant differences between the experience and the level of information midwives relationship. The study recommends that; installing in-service educational program for Midwives to upgrade the techniques necessary to assess, evaluate and improve the quality of care rendered to laboring women, and to put an emphasis on conducting training course for the Midwives in order to change their malpractices and updating their knowledge with regular supervision on their performance.
Upper abdominal surgery patients are considered more vulnerable to changes in pulmonary function and therefore to acute decrease in respiratory function. physical treatment techniques play an important role, especially deep breathing exercises and th e use of incentive spirometry device as well as walking, which have an important role in improving pulmonary function. here lies the nursing role in the training of patients to use those technologies and encouraging them toapplyearlypostoperatively. The aims of the study is toassess the effect of implementing nursing policy (deep breathing exercises , the use of incentive spirometer and walking) on respiratory function among upper abdominal surgery patients.The sample comprised 45 patients chosen randomly from thetwogenders who were prepared to upper abdominal surgery in Al-Assad University Hospital,Each patient implemented nursing policy and assessed pulmonary functionby using a spirometer device and measured the degree of arterial blood oxygen saturation by Oxygenation –pulse measurement. We can notice from the results of this study that the implement of nursing policy contributed to the preservation of respiratory function in patients with the two experimental groups , particularly in the experimental group 2, which have the lower decrease in the pulmonary functions values and the degree of arterial blood oxygen saturation .
