The aim of the research was to evaluate the role of the head nurses in documenting, evaluating and reviewing the performance of nursing staff at Tishreen University Hospital from the point of view of nursing staff. Random sample was used , it consi sted of 50% of the nursing staff at Tishreen University Hospital during the application of the research there number (300 ) nurses. A developed tool for collecting information was used based on recent research literature, and data were collected and analyzed using SPSS version (20). The most important results were that the evaluation of the role of the head nurses was at moderate level in documenting and evaluating the performance of the nursing staff, while the evaluation of the research sample for the role of the head nurses in reviewing their performance was at a good level.
The purpose of the study was to assess the role of the head nurses in managing the performance of the nursing staff at Tishreen University Hospital from the point of view of the nursing staff and the head nurses. The sample that have been used was av ailable of the head nurses and the simple randomness of the nursing staff and was composed of 55.5% of head nurses and their number was (30) head nurses And 50% of the nursing staff participating in the Tishreen University Hospital during the application of the research and their number was (300) nurse. An improved tool for gathering information was used based on recent research literatures, and data were collected and analyzed using SPSS version 20. The most important results: The assessment of the role of head nurses in managing staff performance at Tishreen University Hospital in general was in a good level.
Job stress is defending as silent killer, nursing profession is stressful job. The aim of this study is to identify job stress sources and coping styles among nurses working in alkadmous governmental hospitals, a sample consisted of (50%) of nurses (90 nurse) were randomly selected for this study, the questionnaire was developed by the researcher based on references and literature review. the result show that the total degree of general average of job stress sources was moderate, the percentage (62.8%) of the psychosocial stress domain was in the first degree, administration stress domain in the second degree, the third degree work place environment related stress, and domain of personality stress came last in order. Also, Shows the study that positive styles of coping stress such as access to advice and guidance, problems discussion, and identify priorities of work were most use among study sample from negative styles such as changing work, and the use of drug. Based upon the results. To conclude, the study has proposed the following recommendation: there is a need for raising salaries and incentives, implementation of a job description plan, improvement of working conditions.
Each health care organisation has certain characteristics in terms of activities and work methods, that differentiate areorganisation from the other. These characteristics represent the work environment that nurses work within. Nursing work environ ment received an international attention recentlyspecial emphasis on the importance of improvinghospitals environment for its influence on organizational and individuals outcomes such as absence of nurses, job dissatisfaction, nursing turnover , Burnout ,intention to leave the profession workplace, nursing represents an important part of an essential element in the system of health care, work in the pressing environment can affect the psychological health and arrival at Burnout .This study aim to study the impact of nursing work environment on nurse’ burnout in critical care units in government hospital settings in Lattakia. The study showed that the environment of nursing work environment is unfavorable, from the point of view of more than half of the nursing staff participating in the study 2,where the highest scoring of subscale was:/nurse physician communications skills/ and lowest scoring of subscale was/nurse foundations for quality of care/ ,well as the study showed the existence of a direct relationship between the work environment unfavorable and burnout , and the work environment in all its dimensions affect the burnout, where after /nurse manager's ability, leadership, and support of nurses/ where the most influential dimensions in the nurse’ burnout, while /nurse-physician communications skills/ the less influential dimensions in the development of nurse’ burnout, on , study showed that there is a link between each of the dimensions of the an environment nursing work and dimensions of the burnout, where that the / nurse foundations for quality of care/ importance of its role more than the impact in raising the rate of emotional exhaustion, while after /nurse participation in organization affairs/ of the importance of its role more than the dimensions of the work environment impact in raising the rate of depersonalization, as it was after the / adequacy of resources and nurses/ more than the dimensions of the work environment impact in reducing the proportion of personal achievement.
Compliance of health care workers to adhere to correct hand hygiene is reported to be poor in many countries although the techniques involved in hand hygiene are simple. This study yielded interesting findings regarding knowledge and behavior among a sample of 30 nurses in Al-assad university hospital in Lattakia. Nurses received a self administered paper questionnaire on knowledge and practices of hand hygiene at their workplace and were observed during their work. Only (14 %) of participants had very good knowledge about hand hygiene, with a significant difference in the level of knowledge according to the level of education as respondents with university degree were more likely to correctly identify the proper way of hand hygiene compared to those nurses who have a lower level of education. On the other hand, the overall hand hygiene compliance among nurses is 30%. Some of the key parameters associated with noncompliance have been clearly identified. Hand washing hygiene is a cheap and primary infection control procedure. Therefore, the study suggests some improvement by continuous education during shifts, seminars and posters, ensuring the availability of adequate hand washing utilities like soap, water taps, drying tissues and reducing work load to improve nurse to patient ratio.
This study aimed to identify the professional psychological pressures on a sample of nurses who are working in Al-assad University Hospital according to the variables (gender, marital status).The sample consistes of (120) nurses of various department s in the hospital. The researcher has done a questionair of the pressure professional psychological, the study concluded to the following results: -About (64.59) of the nurses have shown high levels of psychological stress. What comes first to the surface is the financial issues, then comes the work environment dimension and the psychological dimension. -The study showed that there were statistical significant differencesin favor of femalescocerningthe psychological dimension, and towardmales inthe dimension of the relationship with doctors as we the financialdimension. -The study showed that there were statistical significant differencesconcerning professional psychological pressures. These differences were related to the psychological dimension and in favor of unmarried people only.
This research deals with Hypochondriasis for a sample of Female Nurses in the Public Hospital in Damascus, the aims of this research are; knowing the percentage of the spread of hypochondriasis disorder in those working in nursing profession (sample members). -Knowing the differences in hypochondriasis in the female nurses according to the following variables: (Age, family status, number of years of service). Research sample: The sample is composed of 400 female nurses who work in the public and private hospitals in Damascus city. The research tool: Hypochondriasis scale is used, prepared by Fayez Al-Haj (1991). Research methodology: the researcher has used the analytical descriptive methodology which is considered the suitable methodology for the psychiatric, social and educational sciences. Statistical methods used: The raw marks of the sample members and their processing through the Statistical package (spss). The most important results of the study: - Percentage numbers amounting to 24% of the female nurses (sample members) suffer hypochondriasis. - There are no differences in hypochondriasis in the female nurses according to age variable. - There are differences in hypochondriasis in female nurses according to the family status variable. There are denoting differences between the two means of (married) class and (widow)class in favor of the later one, differences between (married) class and (divorced) class in favor of the later one, differences between (single) class and (widow)class in favor of the later one, and differences between (single) class and (divorced) class in favor of the later one. - There are differences in hypochondriasis in the female nurses according to the variable of number of years of service between the two means of class (1-5) and class (11-15) in favor of class (11-15). Moreover, denoting differences have appeared between the two means of class (1-5) and class (16-up) in favor of class (16-up).
