The purpose of the study was to assess the role of the head nurses in managing the performance of the nursing staff at Tishreen University Hospital from the point of view of the nursing staff and the head nurses. The sample that have been used was available of the head nurses and the simple randomness of the nursing staff and was composed of 55.5% of head nurses and their number was (30) head nurses And 50% of the nursing staff participating in the Tishreen University Hospital during the application of the research and their number was (300) nurse. An improved tool for gathering information was used based on recent research literatures, and data were collected and analyzed using SPSS version 20. The most important results: The assessment of the role of head nurses in managing staff performance at Tishreen University Hospital in general was in a good level.

The aim of the research was to evaluate the role of the head nurses in documenting, evaluating and reviewing the performance of nursing staff at Tishreen University Hospital from the point of view of nursing staff. Random sample was used , it consi sted of 50% of the nursing staff at Tishreen University Hospital during the application of the research there number (300 ) nurses. A developed tool for collecting information was used based on recent research literature, and data were collected and analyzed using SPSS version (20). The most important results were that the evaluation of the role of the head nurses was at moderate level in documenting and evaluating the performance of the nursing staff, while the evaluation of the research sample for the role of the head nurses in reviewing their performance was at a good level.
Medication errors are the most common medical errors, which may cause complications in patients, nursing staff are the first one who deal with these errors, so the current descriptive study aim to identify the factors leading to the Medication erro rs at Tishreen University Hospital from the Point of view of 48 nurses working at internal department by using suitable tool for the study object. The study found that the most important factors that lead to medication errors are the inability to read instructions because of the poor doctor's line, Inability to interpret physician order correctly, the Heavy workload and fatigue, tension and Lack of sleep, and interruption and Distract during Work by someone else, inconvenience during work. The study recommended to establishment of educational courses for the nursing staff in the hospital on the subject of the factors causing the Medication errors and ways to prevent their effects, to inform the doctors and nurses working at hospital about the results of this study, put these results in the consideration of policy makers of the hospital to develop rules and strategies that exceed the impact of these factors to include Patient safety, and similar studies in several hospitals to ascertain the results of the study.
Chemotherapy drugs cannot tell the difference between of normal cells and cancer cells. This means normal cells are damaged and this results in side effects, This damage does not stop in the patient who receiving treatment but also extends to all e mployees in the health care sitting. Nurses are the main groups that are exposed to these drugs in hospital setting Generally, the occupational activities that pose to greatest risk of exposure are the preparation ,Transporting cytotoxic drugs, administration of antineoplastic agents, cleaning of chemotherapy spills, and handling of waste. Nurses require specialized knowledge and skills in order to ensure safety for both patients life and for their own safety of the jobs. Because of available a lot of chemotherapy guidelines we Must assess knowledge and skills nursing staff and assess the extent of their commitment to these guidelines. Objective: The objectives of this study were to assessment of knowledge and skill of oncology nurses in chemotherapy administration.
Introduction: As nursing develop with regard to science, knowledge & practice and nursing responsibilities increase, critical thinking- the ability to question and make rational decisions- becomes even more important. Whereas, critical thinking requi res that all thoughts and actions be examined objectively, in patient care almost all actions require decision making, and problem solving. Critical thinking is an essential element in decision making which involves choices, and problem solving which requires analysis. Through critical thinking skills, a nurse manager can become a transformational leader. She can challenge the routine nursing practices now, develop a more robust understanding of any problem underlying causes, and develop her leadership skills as well as develop more creative solutions when using critical thinking. Although, critical thinking skills are more important but there were few studies both English and Arabic and there was no study in Syria concerned with critical thinking skills that must used by nurse mangers to do their role effectively, for that this study was conducted and aimed to assess critical thinking skills of nurse managers in Al- Assad university hospital and Al- Wattany hospital in Lattakia. The study was conducted in Al- Assad university and Al- Wattany hospitals in Lattakia. Whereas, The study sample consisted of 21 nurse managers , and 80 nurses from both hospitals. The results of this study showed that there were positive convergence between nurses 'viewpoints and nurse managers ' viewpoints in both hospitals and that nurse managers used critical thinking skills in their practice.

Depending on these standards, this study was conducted and aimed to assess nurse managers' competency in implementing international competency standards in Al- Assad university hospital and Al- Wattany hospital at Lattakia. Thestudy was conducted on Al- Assad university and Al- Wattany hospitals at Lattakia. Whereas, The study sample consisted of 21 nurse managers , and 80 nurses from two hospitals. The main results ofthis study was that there was agreement between nurses 'viewpoints and nurse managers' viewpoint in both hospitals on nurse managers' implementation of international competencies standards.
