This research aims to investigate the correlative relationship between the cognitive style (impulsivity/reflectivity) and psychological stress among college students. This study aimed at investigating future anxiety and its relationship with the psychological stress on a sample of Tishreen University students. Furthermore, the study attempted to explore whether students differ according to their gender in the fu ture anxiety and the psychological stress. The sample comprised of (188) students: (95 male and 93 female). In order to achieve the goals of this study the Inventory of University Students’ Anxiety Future was constructed. The final version of the scale consisted of (28) items. And the Inventory of University Students’ Sources of psychological stress was constructed, the final version of the scale consisted of (60) items. The results showed: there are correlation statistically significant between the future anxiety and the psychological stress. The results also indicated to significant differences (α≤ 0.05) between males and females means in the psychological stress, and its indicated to no differences between males and females in the future anxiety.
This research aimed to identify internet addiction among students of Damascus university-Darra Branch according to the variables of sex, specialization, achievement, economic status, sitting hours surfing the internet and the favorite websites. This study was done by a descriptive analytic method. The sample was taken randomly of (674 students from all collages and institutes). Internet Addiction Scale (IAS) was built in this study according to the steps which are used in a scale structure. The results showed the followings: The distribution is normal; there is no relationship between internet addiction and achievement. There is a significant positive relationship between internet addiction and economic statues. Sex factor hasn't any effects on internet addiction. There is no difference in internet addiction according to academic specialization except for some differences between students of literature and students of education, law, science and economy, where students of literature are more addictive. the average of sitting hours surfing the internet is (2.78) degrees out of four degrees, and the social websites had the highest rate of readers.
This research aims to investigate the nature of the correlated relationship between mindfulness and resilience, as well as to investigate these differences according to the gender variable. The Kentucky Inventory of Mindfulness (prepared by Baer, G regory, and Allen, 2004) and Resilience Scale (prepared by Connor and Davidson, 2003), both translated into Arabic by Al-Assemi, have been used. The sample consisted of (40) 3th year undergraduate students of Counseling Department (2nd Faculty of Education in Damascus University). The concluded results are: 1. There is a statistically significant relationship between observing and resilience dimensions: hardiness, resourcefulness, and purpose, as well as the total score of resilience. Moreover, there is a statistically significant relationship between describing and purpose dimensions. Furthermore, there is a statistically significant relationship between the total score of resilience and the purpose dimension. 2. There are statistically significant differences in the average scores among the sample’s members on the resilience scale between high and low emotional regulation levels. 3. There are no statistically significant differences in the average scores among the sample’s members on the mindfulness and resilience scales related to gender. 4. There is a statistically significant effect between resilience and gender variables in mindfulness, in favor of high-scored resilience female members. However, there is a statistically significant effect of resilience alone or gender alone in mindfulness.
This research aims to investigate the nature of the correlated relationship between emotional regulation and resilience, as well as to investigate the differences according to the gender. Emotional Regulation Scale for Adolescents (prepared by Al-A ssemi) and Resilience Scale (prepared by Connor and Davidson) have been used. The sample was (40) students of 2nd year of secondary school in Sweidaa Governorate.
This research aims at present to detective the correlation between psychological security the and Achievement Motivation, as well as to detect differences between the average scores students at the scale of psychological security and a measure of Ach ievement Motivation among faculty members according to the (academic specialization) among the students of the Damascus university. To achieve this goal has been to use the following tools: Questionnaire to measure the psychological security of the preparation of researcher, And a questionnaire to measure the phenomenon of Achievement Motivation of the preparation of Jdid(2009). The study sample consists of (581) male and female students from Damascus university. The most important findings of Search: 1- There were correlation statistically significant between the scores of students on the scale of psychological security and grades on a scale of Achievement Motivation. 2- There weren't differences between the mean scores of students on thescale of psychological security due to the academic specialization variable. 3- There were differences between the mean scores of students on the scale of Achievement Motivation due to the academic specialization variable favor application college.
