Species of the genus Campylobacterare recognized as the main cause of foodborne disease in both developing and developed countries. They are main causative of diarrhea and gastroenteritis worldwide. Staphylococcus bacteria especially S. aureus are re sponsible of food poisoning due to their ability to produce enterotoxins. Traditional methods which are used to identify bacteria are time-consuming and labor intensive and very expensive. Thirteen isolates of Campylobacter and twenty-two isolates of Staphylococcus were isolated from a variety of foods. Traditional methods based on biochemical tests were used for identification in addition to laser light-scattering technique to discriminate isolates. Laser light-scattering technique showed the ability to distinguish all isolate in high accuracy, rapid and low costs manner, thus it may represent a potential alternative to traditional methods to identify these bacteria. So it is a very important issue to find new alternative methods characterized by high accuracy, low costs and rapidity in results achievement, to replace traditional methods, thus laser light-scattering may be a possible alternative
The mass spectra of 5 trisubstituted aromatic compounds were studied. The spectra were recorded by local GC-MS at 70 eV and compared with bibliographic spectra. The spectra of each compound were different. The using of local GC-MS for identificati on required recording the spectra references at the same conditions.
Many images of sea, sea waves and ships is repeated in al-Jahili poetry; sometimes, such images are formulated partially in one single line of verse or as a quick flicker, if not such those detailed or circumlocutory images; other times, they occur as comprehensive images that embody the poet's collective literary experience, upon which textual symbols are structured in the form of oppositional or substitutive functions and suggestions. This piece of research concludes that such maritime images take place in three contexts: either in the howdahs' or riding camels journeys in which the image of the shiphowdah or ship-camel appears; or, in love poetry, in which the image of the pearl woman appears. Or, they may occur while disclosing the poetical self when highly indulged in rhetoric, semantics and oration, not to mention vainglory, generosity and hospitality speeches. In brief, this research attempts to explain the relationship of such images to the structure of the al-Jahili poem, the poetical self, the human temperament, and his psychological and cultural horizons.
This study aimed to investigate the possibility of rapid identification of isolated bacteria Leuconostoc from Syrian white fresh cheese made of cow and ewe milk using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). 20 isolates (14 from ewe milk ch eese and 6 from cow milk cheese) were isolated. These isolates were pretasted with PCR technique using specific primers. Results indicated that these isolates are belonged to the genus Leuconostoc and 12 of them are belonged to Ln. mesenteroides species. The results of FTIR technique showed in comparison to device library that all isolates are belonged to genus Leuconostoc, and 4 of these isolates are belonged to Ln. citreum species which could not be identified using PCR method (with the used primers), and helped to identify the following subspecies: Ln.mesenteroides subsp mesenteroides and Ln. mesenteroides subsp dextranicum while PCR technique described them belonging only to a Ln. mesenteroides species. Moreover, FTIR technique was able to give the results within 25 hours, thus it can be used in identification of food bacteria more quickly.
Isolation and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was screened from 15 samples of Syrian oily-soils to determine the ability to produce Lipase enzyme by Cetermide Agar, Tributrin Agar and Brain Heart Broth during 2007-2008 AD. The results sho wed that there were grown colonies with color of green or yellow-green surrounded with different diameter of clear zone in three samples and the identification by Mowasat Hospital revealed that it was Pseudomonas aeruginosa In addition, the results showed that the optimum conditions to produce lipase was 35 Cº with the pH degree of 8 and the time of production of lipase with highest activity of 63.3% was three days in submerged culture during the optimum conditions. These results illustrated the important of this isolates to produce and control lipase for industrial production.
