This research is an analytic study about the aestheticism and impact of Arab calligraphy on architecture and enriching the interior space through intellectual and religious factors and principles. It also deals with the relationship between the Arab
calligraphy and plastic elements, such as decorative,
geometric and floral elements and stalactites as well, which have had a clear role in interior and exterior architecture. The Functionalities and cotemporary aesthetic of such elements have been studied, as they are basic and alphabetical elements of plastic arts with a very important organic function as to keep the local identity.
This study also sheds light on modern architectural experiences and various collection of the use of handwriting in new ways, while maintaining a special sense that keeps link with the ancient creative heritage.
Design phase is one of the phases that can largely affects the lowering of performance level, i.e. conflicts in design documents, numerous modifications to be performed and the difficulty that causeatlate stages of the design process, and consequentl
y delay in delivery and sometimes fail to reach the project objectives.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) system is one of the effective methodologies that offers many privileges that could take part in solving these problems. The purpose of this study is revealing the influence of implementing BIM in design phase, by comparing it with traditional CAD-based systems.
Case studies have been conducted for projects of residential buildings during design phase in architectural part. Findings indicate that implementing BIM in design phase for architectural discipline have shortened the time needed for producing design documents by 75%.
This study could be utilized by any company working in the architectural design field, and encourages decision makers to start using BIM. Furthermore there still is a need foran extensive studies to imply other kinds of buildings and more disciplines of AEC industry.
It is argued that the Pyncheon house in The House of the Seven
Gables is a metaphor of the family, a container for memory and culture, a
structure with a body and soul, a text with two levels of meanings,
and that its architecture is a cultural ex
pression, an index of
Hawthorne’s oeuvre, an external representation of the individuality
of the Pyncheons, a means of reconstructing and materializing the
past, and a replica of the architectural construction of characters
constituting Hawthorne’s remarkable building in the novel.
We introduce a taxonomic study of parallel programming models
on High-Performance architectures. We review the parallel
architectures(shared and distributed memory), and then the
development of the architectures through the emergence of the
heter
ogeneous and hybrid parallel architectures.
We review important parallel programming model as the
Partitioned Global Address Space (PGAS) model, as model for
distributed memory architectures and the Data Flow model as
model to heterogeneous and hybrid parallel programming. Finally
we present several scenarios for the use of this taxonomic study.
The present study is concerned with the creation of an organized
framework to the teaching of architectural design that addresses
the individual differences of learners, such as differences in
abilities, tendencies, experiences, speed of learning
and self
development through appointing the self-learning skills required
for architectural students, and how much these skills are
practiced, as an important aspect of the design process. This
method enhances the education and development of mental
ability which considered the most important for students to solve
design problems in compliance with the society variables.
Because of the importance of the human sense of the surrounding people, objects or circles
and spaces, which makes everything in his life a different meaning and material or
emotional value or both, it was necessary to study the meaning and concept
of sense and
interpretation of the mechanism of access to the conversion of tangible things in the ocean
to perceptions of the same Mental and digital values, as well as in an attempt to interpret
perceptions of mental, scientific and digital values through analytical, applied field-based
analytical media to reach the senses and feelings of the building. This led the research to
the need to know the difference between the sense and perception on the one hand, and
research in the mechanism of the analysis of the intermediate of the inter-transfer between
the two directions between the sensation and perception.
Because architecture is one of the most important spaces that occupy the mind and passion
of the users materially and emotionally, the study and analysis of the emotional sensation
of users in the process of design and interpretation of the sense to reach the mental
perception and the importance of design in accordance with the process of mental
perception to reach a positive emotional feeling to the satisfaction of users.
The history of Swaida city in several civilizations was clear through architecture as if it formed a mixture of them all. Each culture had its own way of dealing with the environmental conditions, combining these design strategies accumulatively resu
lted in a rich architecture that deals with the environment in a very systematic way. On the other hand, the construction strategies dealt with a lot of limitation such as the lack of resources and experiences which were not available during those periods.
This report describes the historical and climatical characteristics that Swaida city has, and reviews some design strategies that used to respond to climate challenges.
