In light of the breadth of financial globalization , and in light of the risks associated with a lot of banks have adopted measures to ensure preservation of its performance , and to reduce risks and achieve the common interest of all parties collabo rating with them. The corporate governance is one of those methods that are commonly used , at the corporate level general and banks in particular , in order to regulate relations participatory between executive management and the board of directors , shareholders , and other stakeholders , different control provisions of the administration and not to prejudice the interests of the dealers. As the competitive advantage has become the mainstay of which they are based organizations in general, in their quest to stay in the market competition and maintain or expand market share , has sought to adopt many of the systems designed to enhance the advantage , and between systems that have been used recently is the application of corporate governance within the organizations. And therefore presented this research to study the impact of the application of the principles of private banks for corporate governance to increase the competitiveness of these banks. The researcher concluded a set of findings and recommendations , including that the governance of banking has been successful in attracting attention, and strengthened the competitiveness of Syrian banks guide development and growth and increase the size of the facilities provided , tighten the financing operations in accordance with the legislative and regulatory frameworks reflect the bright image of the governance of banking in the light of globalization and reflection so to enhance the competitiveness of the private banks .
This research work aims at whether or not corporate governance has an immediate effect on voluntary disclosure concerning financial or nonfinancial data, and defining the degree of this effect. To achieve this aim, the researchers developed an index against which voluntary disclosure may be measured, in the field of study represented by private Syrian banks. The study covered the last six years for each bank. The study adopted a strategy of testing the study hypotheses, using analysis regression method.
The research aims to study the role of internal audit in the activation of governance in the Commercial Bank of Syria Latakia. To achieve the objectives of the research a questionnaire was designed and distributed to (43) managers of the bank Staff . The researcher used the descriptive method and analytical method using the tools necessary for the collection of evidence and data. After study and analysis was reached the following conclusions: 1- The application of an elaborate system of internal audit leads to the activation of governance in the Commercial Bank of Syria Latakia. 2- Making internal audit in accordance with professional standards of due diligence leads to the activation of governance in the Commercial Bank of Syria Latakia. 3- The independence of the internal audit departments leads to the activation of governance in the Commercial Bank of Syria Latakia. 4- The monitoring and evaluation systems and risk management procedures lead to the activation of governance in the Commercial Bank of Syria Latakia.
The corporate governance of the important issues for all local and international companies in our time, given that the financial crises that have suffered because of the global economy and has developed the concept of corporate governance within the priorities and focus systems and the laws of corporate governance in the world to limit the use of administrative power in not the interests of shareholders, And working to activate the performance of boards of directors of these companies, As well as strengthening internal control and monitor the implementation of strategies and identify the roles and powers of each of the shareholders and the Board of directors and executive management and stakeholders as well emphasize the importance of transparency and disclosure, The concept of corporate governance, Curriculum reform and a new mechanism of action that would establish the integrity of financial transactions put determinants serve public interests and rights of shareholders In the banking sector is increasingly important to use this mechanism, so the researcher to study the effect of the application of corporate governance in the reduction of administrative and financial corruption in the private banking sector in Syria, and concluded that most of the private banks to adopt the application of corporate governance, also concluded that the application of the principles of corporate governance has to do with moral and good in the reduction of financial and administrative corruption in these banks.
The study aimed to test the impact of application the principles of corporate governance relating to administrative ownership for listed companies on Damascus Securities Exchange, The study sample included of 24 companies spread over five sectors banking, insurance, industry, agriculture and services during the period from 2009 to 2014, and used multiple regression to test hypotheses. The Variables studied included market value as measured by Tobin's Q-dependent variable and all of the ownership of CEO, board size, ownership of the Board of Directors, the independence of the Board of Directors as independent variables and the size of the company and the proportion of debt and the type of sectors a secondary variables. The most significant results of the study that listed companies in Damascus Securities Exchange abide by the rules of governance, particularly relating to administrative ownership of them. Affecting the increased market value of the companies, which encourages investors to invest in them.
This study aims at determine the extent to which Syrians listed firms in Damascus Stock Exchange comply with the Principles of Corporate Governance, issued by Syrian Commission on Financial Markets and Securities (2008), Central Bank of Syria, (200 9), Syrian Insurance Supervisory Commission (2007), and OECD (2004). To achieve this objective, the researcher conducted a field study on a sample of (20) shareholding companies working in the banking and insurance sectors (about 83% of the Syrians listed firms). A questionnaire containing six questions which cover the six principles of corporate governance was distributed to explore the sample's opinion about how much Syrians shareholding companies comply with those principles. The major findings of this study indicated that there were no significant differences between the level of the banks' commitment to the principles of corporate governance and the level of insurance companies' commitment.
This research aims to shed light on the impact of corporate governance on the performance of listed companies in Damascus Securities Exchange (2012-2016). To achieve this objective, the researcher used a hypothetical-deductive approach to formulate the hypotheses; and analyzed the financial statements of all shareholding Syrians listed companies. Results indicate that, despite of the variation in applying corporate governance between listed companies, there is a sufficient level of commitment to the principles of corporate governance. As well as, the results showed that all performance indicators effected by corporate governance principles. The results of this study provides an empirical evidence to policy makers and regulators in Syria to emphasize the importance of the continuation of Syrian companies to abide by the applying of the principles of corporate governance; as well as the need to find a unified measure corporate governance can be applied in Syria; and at the same time the need to educate the public concerning corporate governance.
