This research aims to shed light on the impact of corporate governance on the performance of listed companies in Damascus Securities Exchange (2012-2016). To achieve this objective, the researcher used a hypothetical-deductive approach to formulate the hypotheses; and analyzed the financial statements of all shareholding Syrians listed companies. Results indicate that, despite of the variation in applying corporate governance between listed companies, there is a sufficient level of commitment to the principles of corporate governance. As well as, the results showed that all performance indicators effected by corporate governance principles. The results of this study provides an empirical evidence to policy makers and regulators in Syria to emphasize the importance of the continuation of Syrian companies to abide by the applying of the principles of corporate governance; as well as the need to find a unified measure corporate governance can be applied in Syria; and at the same time the need to educate the public concerning corporate governance.

This study aims at determine the extent to which Syrians listed firms in Damascus Stock Exchange comply with the Principles of Corporate Governance, issued by Syrian Commission on Financial Markets and Securities (2008), Central Bank of Syria, (200 9), Syrian Insurance Supervisory Commission (2007), and OECD (2004). To achieve this objective, the researcher conducted a field study on a sample of (20) shareholding companies working in the banking and insurance sectors (about 83% of the Syrians listed firms). A questionnaire containing six questions which cover the six principles of corporate governance was distributed to explore the sample's opinion about how much Syrians shareholding companies comply with those principles. The major findings of this study indicated that there were no significant differences between the level of the banks' commitment to the principles of corporate governance and the level of insurance companies' commitment.
The study addressed the investments of insurance companies listed market Damascus Securities Exchange, and its impact on the performance of the market to know how much they contribute to the improvement of Damascus Securities Exchange performance through the study of the relationship between the size of the investment represented by turnover of the shares of insurance companies listed in Damascus Securities Exchange and Index Damascus Securities Exchange, During the period 1-1-2010 until 31- 12-2014 in order to improve and raise the level of the insurance sector as an important investment sectors in the national economy.
The aim of current research is to determine whether the earnings management by income smoothing approach has impact on stock returns for companies listed at Damascus Securities Exchange. The study aimed to provide a new evidence of the importance and role of corporate bonds to raise their effectiveness and ensuring its success and survival in the world of business, through their ability to increase profits and maximize shareholder wealth. The following conclusions were reached: There is a relationship between shareholding corporations' awareness and understanding of the advantages of bonds, and taking the decision by issuing them and the fear of launching bonds being convinced of constraints. And the limitations of full understanding of the advantages of bonds of the decision makers prevents launching of bonds. The study recommended the need to activate the bond market and encourage shareholding corporations to issue bonds in particular as tax-exempt financial instrument with the encouragement of the zero bond being suited to a wide range of investors and savers we are witnessing currently and providing the necessary facilities and facilitate necessary to launch bonds especially under current economics in Syria.
The purpose of this study is to know the impact of credit risk on the share prices by applying in listed Syrian private banks in DSE. It was presented the concept of credit and its importance and types, addition to the concept of credit risk and i ts causes The study based on sample of 6 Syrian banks in the practical section . And for a period (2010-30/6/2015) included 10 semiannual periods .For analysis simple and multiple regression model was used. The evidence revealed that no relationship between unproductive debt ratio and share prices. and indicated also no relationship between credit losses reserve ratio and share prices. because of the smallness of DSE and weakness of its efficiency, On order to reducing credit risk and improve DSE performance several recommendations have been presented by the end of study.
