The research aims at getting acquainted with how far pupils of the 5th and 6th grade, in the Basic Education, do read, and how often do they visit the school library. Within this framework, we tried to point out the factors having impact on the volume of reading, starting with the family circumstances; the parents’ work, their level of education and encouragement, and also the school’s influence in as much as it contributes to the teacher, the director or the book keeper in encouraging pupils to read. The research emerged from inquiries related with how far is the Knowledge of the teachers of the basic Education stage / higher circle / of the education environmental curricula and with how far their use to such Knowledge throughout their teachin g practices. • The research has specified his objectives in three points: - Checking the levels of teachers' knowledge of the environment education curricula (objectives, contents and methodology…) - Identifying the reality of application of Environment Education curricula by teachers. - Determining of the relation between Knowledge levels and application levels.
The purpose of this study is to monitor the reality of life skills in the schools of basic education, in terms of the extent to which the students of the fifth grade in the ability to solve the problems of life, social interaction, and the possession of the types of environmental health skills. To achieve this, use descriptive and analytical approach, and re-test of Life Skills, where he was sure his sincerity and persistence, and included three axes. Distributed test on a sample of students in the fifth grade totaling 200 pupils. The findings from the study that the research sample has a life skills grade average, equal to the premise level (2.5); Which (60%) and therefore there is no difference between the average of the calculated estimates of the students about a pivotal test (over the ability to solve problems of life, owning environmental health skills) and between Mediterranean premise for them. While The results indicated that there is a statistically significant difference between the mean estimates of pupils about the ability of social interaction. The search is over a set of conclusions and proposals as necessary attention to the development of life skills for students of basic education when presented in the curriculum.
This study aimed to assessing the role of school administration in health education in basic education schools in Lattakia city. The researcher used analytical descriptive method. The questionnaire was used to collect the study data from 30 principal s, who were chosen by using simple random sample. The findings indicated that the degree of the role of the school administration in health education in basic education schools of Lattakia city was low average as a whole is (2.42). The degree in achieving the means of health and safety was low average is (2.58), securing good environment suitable for good nutrition was low average is (2.25), and health culture was the lowest average is (2.10). Where achieving hygiene was the highest average is (2.78). This study recommended exploiting and following the applying of the health education programs. Developing the health culture programs of the school pupils and activating the role of health guide in school health field by holding seminars, training courses and sessions.
The Basic issue of this research is the lack of skills in the social instructors when they deal with students able to increase their awareness and to motivate them to develop their skills. The current study tries to observe and analyze the nature of the relation between the social instructor`s skills and their ability to contribute in forming and setting up the student for the future and in all his life stages and to give many experiences to students , make them aware of the problems which they may face in addition to that helping the student to develop his abilities and to protect him from delinquency.
This study aimed at investigating fourth grade basic pupils’ attitudes towards social studies based on Marzano’s Model and to investigate the effect of sex and residence of these attitudes. For that, the descriptive method was used, and the questi onnaires’ attitudes towards classroom climate and assigned tasks was administered to the simple random sample consisted of (201) males and females pupils in Lattakia province schools. The results showed that pupils’ attitudes were positive towards their acceptance by the teacher and by their peers, order, social studies value, social studies clarity, and ability to perform social studies. There were no significant differences among Females and male` attitudes towards their acceptance by the teacher and by their peers, comfort, order, and social studies value, and social studies clarity. Furthermore, Females` attitudes towards ability to perform social studies more than males’ attitudes. In addition, Urban pupils` attitudes towards social studies clarity and ability to perform social studies more than urban pupils’ attitudes, whereas rural pupils` sense of comfort in social studies more than urban pupils’ sense. The study suggest according to these results the necessity of teaching teachers about positive classroom climate and about assigned tasks for developing attitudes towards social studies.
