40 samples were collected from milk from Homs to isolate the
bacteria and study their ability to produce the enzyme β-
galactosidase and diagnose isolates the most efficient in the
production of the enzyme, the results showed the presence of 25
sporeforming isolates producing the enzyme β-galactosidase , the
effectiveness of β-galactosidase was estimated using
spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 420 nm.
The search is focused on application of the catalase enzyme in the
dyeing bath at different temperatures and concentration to catalyze
the peroxide remaining after bleaching the fabrics of cotton and
study its effect on exhaustion and fastness of reactive dye and
compare these results with sample is dyed in clean water path
without the presence of the enzyme.
Orange is used in the juice industry, yielding important quantities of by products.
Orange peel is analyzed for chemical composition and water holding capacity. Data show
that, it has high amount of crude fiber, phenolic contents and antioxidant ca
pacity, also it
has high level of water holding capacity. Biscuits are prepared from blendes which contain
a different proportion (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25)% of orange peel flour are also evaluate for
physical and sensory characteristics, chemical composition and rheological properties for
this blendes.
The sensory evaluation does not show any significant difference between control and
that adds with 10% of orange peel flour. Physical parameters, namely, diameter, thickness
and spread ratio were tested. The diameter and thickness of orange peel substituted biscuits
were decreased, whereas spread ratio of biscuits increase with increasing levels of it.
The data reveals that incorporation of orange peel powder in biscuits increase crude
fiber, ash, phenolic contents and antioxidant capacity, it decreases the carbohydrate
content. Rheological properties of the blended flour show increase in water absorption and
stability.
Addition of 40ppm xylanase enzyme reduce the hardness value of the sample in
general, it also decrease the spread ratio as compared to control samples with no enzyme
added.
Sensory evaluation results show good overall acceptability scores for the biscuits
contain 10% orange peel with and without xylanase.
The research was conducted in order to test the effect of each of the
filtrate T. viride and chitosan and sodium benzoate in filamentous
growth pathogenic fungi F. oxysporum and F. solani, and their
impact in protecting the seeds of peppers from t
hese two fungi, and
then assess the effectiveness of peroxidase enzyme in pepper plants
from seeds treated with the above-mentioned compounds.
This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of butyric acid alone or with
Vitamins in the feed on liver enzymes activity and some minerals in serum.
One hundred (100) 1-day old unsexed commercial Japanese quail chicks were
studied for 42 days
. The Japanese quail chicks were randomly divided into 4
groups as 25 chicks in each. The chicks were fed with starter mash which
contained crude protein24% and metabolizable energy 2850 Kcal / kg up to 42
day of age.
The effect of phenolic compounds were extracted from leaves of Dan
and Toufahi sorts of Syrian olives, spread particularly in Damascus
country, studied on the activity of Guaiacol peroxidise in the celles of
Kolioptyl Zea myse L. Solutions of thre
e different concentrations of
phenolic extracts are used in the work : 25% , 50% and 100%.
The conditions for producing cellulase enzyme were optimized using corn
husks as substrate in submerged fermentation. The effects of five parameters
(incubation temperature, pH, substrate concentration, inoculum volume,
fermentation time) on the s
train growth and enzyme production were studied.
For this purpose the statistical program Minitab and the statistical design
Response Surface Methodology (RSM) were applied.
A partial purification was performed for the fungal hydroxycinnamic acid
esterase (HCAE) from Humicola sp. by precipitation using either ammonium
sulfate or acetone.
Thirty randomized samples of sugar materials were collected from different
places (Tartous, Damascus, Homs) in Syria for isolation and identification of
some yeasts. These yeasts were classified physiologically by API technique
to identify the spe
cies of Yeasts found in these materials. Results showed that
the isolated materials contained 17 isolated yeasts distributed in 3 genus and 7
species and named as follows: One isolated yeast from Geotrichum capitatum,
Candida krusei,Candida guilliermondi, Candida fumata and Candida zeylanoides
and 4 isolated yeasts from Candida lusitaniae and 7 isolated yeasts from
Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The classified yeasts were screened to investigate the
activity of internal and external invertase produced by them using
spectrophotometer at 540 nm. The results showed that there were differences in
the ability of yeasts to produce invertase enzyme. Candida Lusitaniae-2 and
Saccharomyces cerevisiae-4 were found the best yeasts for production of
external invertase, whereas Candida Lusitaniae1 was the best for internal
invertase.
Sugar fatty acid esters are nonionic surfactants, which are used for personal
care products, cosmetic applications, and as emulsifiers for food. In recent
years, enzymatic synthesis of sugar fatty acid esters is attracting keen attention
as a new
manufacturing method for future application. Some Reaction
parameters of lipase-catalyzed synthesis of SFAE in organic solvent were
optimized in a batch reactor. Optimum conditions for reaction performed were
10% (w/w of substrates) of lipase from Candida antarctica B, at 60°C. Among
the solvents tested in this study, the highest yield (93%) was obtained when
Aceton was used as a solvent,. The optimal sugar-to-fatty acid ratio was tested
in the range from 3:1 to 1:7 and verious sugars were used. A high conversion
was obtained when the ratio of Sugar: Fatty acid (1:5) and Froctuse were used
as substrat, respectively.
