Event detection (ED) task aims to classify events by identifying key event trigger words embedded in a piece of text. Previous research have proved the validity of fusing syntactic dependency relations into Graph Convolutional Networks(GCN). While ex isting GCN-based methods explore latent node-to-node dependency relations according to a stationary adjacency tensor, an attention-based dynamic tensor, which can pay much attention to the key node like event trigger or its neighboring nodes, has not been developed. Simultaneously, suffering from the phenomenon of graph information vanishing caused by the symmetric adjacency tensor, existing GCN models can not achieve higher overall performance. In this paper, we propose a novel model Self-Attention Graph Residual Convolution Networks (SA-GRCN) to mine node-to-node latent dependency relations via self-attention mechanism and introduce Graph Residual Network (GResNet) to solve graph information vanishing problem. Specifically, a self-attention module is constructed to generate an attention tensor, representing the dependency attention scores of all words in the sentence. Furthermore, a graph residual term is added to the baseline SA-GCN to construct a GResNet. Considering the syntactically connection of the network input, we initialize the raw adjacency tensor without processed by the self-attention module as the residual term. We conduct experiments on the ACE2005 dataset and the results show significant improvement over competitive baseline methods.
Mining the causes of political decision-making is an active research area in the field of political science. In the past, most studies have focused on long-term policies that are collected over several decades of time, and have primarily relied on su rveys as the main source of predictors. However, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a new political phenomenon, where political decision-making consists of frequent short-term decisions, all on the same controlled topic---the pandemic. In this paper, we focus on the question of how public opinion influences policy decisions, while controlling for confounders such as COVID-19 case increases or unemployment rates. Using a dataset consisting of Twitter data from the 50 US states, we classify the sentiments toward governors of each state, and conduct controlled studies and comparisons. Based on the compiled samples of sentiments, policies, and confounders, we conduct causal inference to discover trends in political decision-making across different states.
In this paper we offer a new interactive method for solving Multiobjective linear programming problems. This method depends on forming the model for reducing the relative deviations of objective functions from their ideal standard, and dealing with the unsatisfying deviations of objective functions by reacting with decision maker. The results obtained from using this method were compared with many interactive methods as (STEM Method[6] – Improvement STEM Method[7] – Matejas-peric Method[8]). Numerical results indicate that the efficiency of purposed method comparing with the obtained results by using that methods at initial solution point and the other interactive points with decision maker.
This paper deals with the impact of the Efficiency of marketing research system in making marketing decisions in the Syrian telecommunications companies, by studying the impact of (Data efficiency and workers efficiency and software efficiency that used in marketing research system) and making marketing decisions in telecommunications companies. The research adopted the descriptive approach, which included the research community who working in Syriatel Telecom were distributed (70) to identify the workers in the marketing research field and responsible for making marketing decisions, (60) questionnaire was responded, in rate (85.7%), by using appropriate statistical methods the study reached the following results: 1- There is a significant positive correlation between the efficiency of the used data in marketing research system and making marketing decisions in Syriatel Telecom. 2- There is a positive relationship and significant morale among the workers efficiency in marketing research system and making marketing decisions in Syriatel Telecom. 3- There is a positive relationship and weak significant differences between the efficiency of the software which used in marketing research system and make marketing decisions in Syriatel Telecom. 4- There is a significant positive relationship among all the independent variables (efficiency of marketing research system) with the dependent variable (making marketing decisions) where the variable (data efficiency) is the most influential dimension in the dependent variable (making marketing decisions) and the variable (Software efficiency) is the lower influent dimension in the dependent variable (making marketing decisions).
Information quality plays a pivotal role in the decision-making process, this research aims mainly to study the impact of the dimensions of information quality in construction firms operating in Syria on the quality of decision-making and to ident ify the most influential dimension in the interpretation of this quality. The researcher had followed the descriptive approach- survey in the study based on the problem of the study and objectives that he seeks to achieve, and included a study population of all construction firms working in Syria.
Project risk management plays a pivotal role in the decision-making process, this research aims mainly to study the impact of the dimensions of project risk management in contraction firms operating in the Syrian coast on the quality of decision-ma king and to identify the most influential dimension in the interpretation of this quality. The researcher had followed the survey method in his study, and the study population was included all construction companies operating in the Syrian coast. The researcher adopted probability sampling (random sampling), and the study sample size was 75 units. The researcher used a measure of the maturity level of project risk management that developer by (Ciorciari & Blattner, 2007), and another instrument to measure the quality of decision-making designed by (Donelan, 2013). The findings of this study shows that There is significant positive relationship between events identification and the quality of decision-making and events identification variable occupies first place among project risk management dimensions in terms of impact on decision making quality, because this dimension explains a rate equal (9.61%) of decision making quality. The relationship between the dependent variable quality of decision-making and the seven remaining dimensions of risk management projects namely (monitoring of risk management - risks response - objective setting - risk assessment - control activities - risk management culture - information and communication) is a positive and significant relationship, and risk management as a whole explain what percentage of (22.6%) of the quality of decision-making. The most important recommendations reached by the researcher that the contraction firms working in the Syrian coast should to spread the risk management culture at all levels of management to enhances the application processes PRM because it will reflect on a more quality of decisions making.
The research aims to identify the level of decision-making skills of managers of special kindergartens in the province of Homs . Defines habilitation and culture prevailing patterns of directors of special kindergartens. And defines the relationsh ip between the decision-making skills of managers special kindergartens, and between habilitation and culture prevailing in Riyadh institutions. And know the differences between the averages of the answers sample individuals to identify decision-making skills and patterns of habilitation and culture depending on the variables of research: (qualification, training courses). The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method, and used to identify decision-making skills, and identifying patterns of habilitation and culture. Included sample(82), director of special kindergarten.
This research deals with the relationship between the empowerment of workers and the quality of work life in the telecommunication sector in Syria. The objectives of this study are to determine the nature of the relationship between the empowermen t of workers and the quality of work life, and to determine the best form of empowerment of employees required to achieve the quality of work life in the organizations under study. The most important result of the study was that there is a significant relationship between the empowerment of employees’ variables including, delegation of authority, participation of workers in decision-making, participation of workers in the ownership, encouragement of workers and the appreciation of their ideas and suggestions, and the quality of work life in the concerned organizations. The study also indicates that the appreciation of achievement is the most variable of employee empowerment linked to the quality of work life, followed by participation of workers in the property, and then the delegation of authority. The study shows that the family life of the individual was far from the concern of the companies under study. Moreover, noting that most companies have a strategy for the delegation of authority and there is a limited participation of the employees in decision making, healthcare insurance program was not implemented properly despite the fact that the wages and compensation system is fair.
