The research aimed to identify the level of creative thinking skills (fluency, flexibility, originality, whole degree) among basic fourth class students in Latakia, in the light of gender. To achieve this purpose, the researcher used Torrance test of creative thinking-vocabulary form (A). The sample consisted of (255) students (125 males and130 females)selected by using random sampling method, from several schools in Latakia, The results showed weakness in the level of creative thinking among basic fourth class students. The average of degrees were(the whole degree95.21, fluency 46.85, flexibility 28.27,and originality 20.08), The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in each skill of creative thinking (fluency, originality, and whole degree) due to gender, but there were statistically significant differences in degree of flexibility in favor of females. In the light of the findings, the study suggested merging the skills of creative thinking in curriculum, and teaching these skills independently, fasten training session to teachers to habituation them on development of creative thinking during the class teaching, and setting up tests to measure creative thinking skills codified in Syrian environment, and conducting new researches focusing on creative thinking (from where measuring and development him) in different school levels, with using other variables.

This study aimed at investigating fourth grade basic pupils’ attitudes towards social studies based on Marzano’s Model and to investigate the effect of sex and residence of these attitudes. For that, the descriptive method was used, and the questi onnaires’ attitudes towards classroom climate and assigned tasks was administered to the simple random sample consisted of (201) males and females pupils in Lattakia province schools. The results showed that pupils’ attitudes were positive towards their acceptance by the teacher and by their peers, order, social studies value, social studies clarity, and ability to perform social studies. There were no significant differences among Females and male` attitudes towards their acceptance by the teacher and by their peers, comfort, order, and social studies value, and social studies clarity. Furthermore, Females` attitudes towards ability to perform social studies more than males’ attitudes. In addition, Urban pupils` attitudes towards social studies clarity and ability to perform social studies more than urban pupils’ attitudes, whereas rural pupils` sense of comfort in social studies more than urban pupils’ sense. The study suggest according to these results the necessity of teaching teachers about positive classroom climate and about assigned tasks for developing attitudes towards social studies.
The aim of the research was to investigate the level of environmental awareness among sixth graders’ students in light of the gender variables and the cultural level of the mother. In order to achieve this goal, the descriptive approach was used, a nd the "environmental awareness" scale was prepared. After verifying its validity, it was distributed to a sample of 140 students and students from the sixth grade school in Lattakia in 2017/2018. The results showed that the level of awareness among the sixth grade students was average. There were no statistically significant differences among the sixth grade in terms of environmental awareness due to sex, while there were statistically significant differences due to the cultural level of the mother in favor of students whose mothers have university degrees.
The purpose of this study is to identify some of alternative conceptions by fourth grade pupils about some scientific concepts in two terms (energy-electricity and magnetism). To achieve that, the researcher used the analytical descriptive method, and she prepared a test to identify the alternative conception; she ensured its reliability and constancy. The sample is consisted of (143) pupils in Lattakia province schools. The results showed that the sample of study has alternative conceptions about concepts of two per-terms and the percent arrived about some concepts to (91.60%). The present research aimed to identify the extent of the practice of science teachers for creative thinking skills in teaching students basic sixth grade in the city of Lattakia, according to the variables: educational qualification. The applicatio n note card prepared by the researcher; to identify creative thinking skills included (30) items, and is divided into four axes: fluency, flexibility, originality, and expansion. The research sample has been selected randomly, and applied the note card on (30) teachers for the academic year 2016/ 2017, and descriptive method was used. The results showed that science teachers do not practice creative thinking skills while teaching sixth grade students, and the degree of practice of creative thinking skills was low. Also, the results indicated that there is no statistically significant difference between the average grade of the practice of science teachers for creative thinking skills in the skills of fluency, flexibility, originality, and expansion. And there was no statistically significant difference between the average grade of the practice of science teachers for creative thinking skills according to the variables educational qualification. The research presented several proposals, the most important of which is the work on the development of basic education curricula that are directly related to the skills of creative thinking, as well as conducting studies on the importance of developing creative thinking skills in scientific subjects.
