The aim of this study was to evaluate the affecting factors of Buffalo milk production in Al- Ghab Plain. The data were collected according to the farmers during the season of 2009-2010. The effect of parturition season, dry period and calving interval were studied. The results showed that the mean milk production was 934,96 kg with 8.1% fat and 4.85% protein. The lactation period was 180-240 days, the dry period was 120-180 days and the calving interval mean was 420 days. Our results indicated that the quantity of buffalo milk in Syria was low because of the short lactation period, the long dry period and the long calving interval. But it could be possible to improve the buffalo milk production by the better rasing conditions and genetic improvement.

Four strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) from different genus، species and sources were tested for their abilities to bind of AFM1 for 14 hours. Lactobacillus rhamnosus LC705 showed higher ability to bind AFM1 (88.35%)، followed by Bifidobacteri um bifidum BG1 (84.21%), Lactobacillus bulgaricus R21 by 80.41% and finally Streptococcus thermophilus by 71.52% after 14 hours of incubation.
The object of this search was the setting up of study of sterilized milk munofactore in Syria, and definition of causes to drop of quality and decrease of shelf-life. As will as study of factors affecting the shelf-life of sterilized milk and possibility of using of the new techniques in extension of sterilized milk's shelf-life for increment of the economic yield and the competition in the markets.
In spite of an increase of farming experiance, producers are still facing many obstacles which affect negatively on their final income. It is clear from this study the decrease of productivity per unit area of wheat and cotton crops and high produ ction cost, caused decrease of the final income. Most of the farmers, were not satisfied with cultivation of these crops, due to increase of production cost, unsuitable price, lack of cultivation requirements and the prices rising…..etc. Also, the extension services offered to the farmers are poor and not at the required level. That was the most important reason for the decrease of the productivity. Consequently, it is possible to develop the agricultural activity by improving the extension services and decreasing the prices of production requirement and improving the selling prices. Therefore, it is necessary to decrease the production costs of wheat and cotton crops, increase their productivity, improve and activate the extension units work and spread awareness and knowledge about modern methods of cultivation as well as ways of decreasing the productivity costs, the factors which help to increase the productivity from unit area, and acquainting the farmers to other crops, which could be alternative crops in the future.
This study conducted at Deir Al-Hajar Station during the season 2010-2011 to describe the lactation curve of Shami cattle and determine factors affecting its shape compenents. 1120 records of 356 Shami cows collected between 1997 – 2010 were used. Data were subjected to general linear model, and the analysis of variance used to determine the effect of factors. Duncan test was used to compare the means using SAS system (1996) and Incomplete gamma functions were used to estimate the parameters of lactation curve (a, b and on the basis of daily yield of milk. Results indicated that the average values of the gamma parameters were 2.14 ± 0.01 kg for a (beginning of milking ), 0.61 ± 0.02 kg for b (increasing milk production up to peak) and - 0.23± 0.01 kg for c (decreasing milk production from peak to dry). The effect of calving year was significant (p<0.01) on a, and (p<0.05) on b and (p<0.001) on c. The effect of age at calving and sex of calf was significant (p<0.01) on a but non significant on b and c. Season of calving, parity, and interaction between age and parity was not significant on all parameters. It was concluded that improving the productive performance of Shami cattle, requires applying a long term genetic improvement program to select the best herd.
This study was carried out in Lattakia province/ Syria during the 2012 season, in order to recognize the current situation of milk marketing and detect the problems and the obstacles that facing it in Lattakia. The area of study included four regi ons (latakia-Alhaffa- ALqurdaha and Jableh)where couple of villages in each region was studied, and the raiser were divided into categories regarding to the number of their cows. A specific questionnaires were distributed on the keepers included the following questions: farm location, holding size, the quantity of production, production costs, manufacturing costs (if present), packaging and transport costs, the marketing chain for milk, the marketing costs, the marketing margin and problems faced by the raiser.
