This research aimed to study the psychometric properties of
Standard Progressive Matrices test (Parallel Version), an IQ test
non-verbal measure of intelligence is influenced by culture, this
test was been made in England by John Raven to measure
general intelligence concept Spearman factor, and this is the test
into Englishmen psychologists of the best tools available so far to
measure public factor of intelligence.
Purpose: to study the Distribution of intraocular pressure in the age group 20-40 years old and the related factors: age, gender, family history, BMI, smoking.
Methods: This was a population-based cross-sectional study of 1000 subjects All particip
ant underwent IOP (intraocular pressure) measurement and a standardized survey for the initial data of the study.
Results: The mean IOP for the study subjects was (17.6mmHg); the mean IOP in men was higher than women (17.53) vs (16.8) mmHg respectively. Ocular hypertension was found in 16.8% participants. IOP increased 0.5 mmHg for every 10 years of age. BMI (Body Mass Index) had a positive association with IOP. Subjects with positive family history of ocular hypertension had higher IOP (18.46) vs (16.98) mmHg. IOP was higher in smokers’ group (17.77) vs (16.29) mmHg. Multivariate analyzing showed that aging, smoking, male sex, family history were independent risk factors for ocular hypertension, otherwise there was no significant relationship between ocular hypertension and BMI.
This research aims to studying the psychometric
properties of the Arabic version of Burks Behavior Rating
Scale (BBRS) in the Syrian environment through using
varied methods in studying the scale validity and reliability
depending on estimating the behavior of a sample of first
stage basic teaching students in Damascus governorate,
where the sample consisted of (360) students.
This study aimed to investigating the prevalence of Cornell Critical Thinking Test
Level (x) on a sample of talented students in the national Centre for the distinguished
(NCD) in Syria, and to identify the levels of critical thinking among talente
d students, and
whether these differed according to (students’ gender, academic level), the sample
consisted of (167) talented students, the results showed that the participants exhibited an
average level of Critical Thinking, and no Significant differences were found due to
gender, the results also revealed that Significant differences were found due to academic
level for the third academic level.
It was investigated in this study the influence of
Carboxymethylcellolose (CMC) solution concentration,
temperature, and pH on the rheological properties according to the
shear stress as function of shear rate. Experimental results show that
shea
r stress increase at all operational conditions as the shear rate
increase. When the shear rate is constant, the shear stress increases
also with the increasing of both concentration and pH as well as the
decreasing of temperature.
