Tissue culture process of date palm propagation via bud proliferation is fully described. Adventitious plantlets were obtained from shoot tips. axillary buds and the bottom of young leaves of five date palm cultivars (Sefri, Zahdi, Rizzez, Khalas and Hillaly).

This investigation was conducted on Ru140 grape rootstock at the General Commission for Scientific Agricultural Research (GCSAR), Damascus with the aim of in vitro vegetatively micropropagation using some plant growth regulators on multiplication and rooting to determine the best combinations and concentrations of plant growth regulators that result in the best multiplication rate, and best rooting crekeria (rate and roots number and length). Results demonstrated that, the best medium for in vitro micropropagation of the studied rootstock was the modified MS medium supplemented with 4.44 μM BA + 0.49 μM IBA with multiplication rate of 7.72 new shoots every 4 weeks, and shoots lengt of 5.54 cm. These shoots were transferred for 4 weeks to among elongation medium containing the same medium with the addition of Kinetine at a concentration of 2.22 μM instead of BA which led to a shoot elongation rate of 7.87 cm, then these shoots were transferred to rooting medium for rooting, It was shown that using auxin IBA at a concentration of 4.44 μM resulted at the highest rate of rooting (87%) with the largest number of roots (7.56) when using the auxin IBA concentration μM 4.44 compared with the rest of other transactions and with the control as well. However, The highest length of roots (6.29 cm) was observed on medim contained lower IBA concentration (2.22 μM). Rooted Plants were acclimatized gradually to ex vitro conditions with 70 % efficiency.
The objective of this research isto study the in vitro effect of some plant hormones (growth regulators) BAP,NAA, 2,4-D, and genotype on callus and bud formation from embryonic axes of two Soybean cultivar seeds (sb-44, sb-172). The embryonic axes were cultured on MS basal medium and MS supplemented with 1, 2, 3 mg/l BAP alone and in combination with 0.5 mg/l NAA.The cultures were maintained at 25 C°±1 with photoperiod of 16 hours light (2000-2500 lux) and 8 hours dark. The highest percentage92.5% and mean average 4.63 of callus formation were recorded on MS medium containing BAP (3 mg/l) and NAA (0.5 mg/l). The highest percentage 67.5% and average 3.38 of buds formation were obtained on MS medium supplemented 1 mg/l BAP and 0.5 mg/l NAA in cultivar sb-44. The percentage of callus formation increased, while the percentage of bud formation decreased with each increase in BAP concentration when used alone. A positive increase was observed in all mediums in the combination of 0.5 mg/l NAA or 0.5 mg/l 2. 4-D in the two cultivars used in this study. This study showed the genotypic difference effect on callus and bud formation.Roots were formed from allplantlets cultured on MS medium without plant hormones.Rooted plantlets were transferred into pots with nutrient soil, irrigated with water, and adapted tolaboratory conditions. Good plants grown to maturity were obtained in 12-13 weeks.
This study was carried out at AL-Rasheedia Agricultural Research Station ,Ninevah, to evaluate five radish cultivars, during fall seasons (1997-1998) and (1998-1999) . Results showed significant differences among the different cultivars. The cult ivar Black (Rabeea) was superior to other cultivars in number of leaves/ plant, root diameter, weight, and total yield /donum, which were 11.81, 9.22 (cm), 382.91 (gram), and 11.67 ton/ donum respectivelly. The April Cross cultivar gave the highest root length and foliar weight. Significant correlation was observed between cultivars. Yield was significantly correlated with root weight, number of leaves per plant and foliar weight. The root weight was positively correlated with its diameter, and number of leaves per plant.
A detailed in vitro multiplication system for rapid micropropagataion of the Hypericum perforatum L. has been developed. Shoot tips and axillary buds excised from this plant which were collected from Tartous explants and surface disinifected then cultured on MS (Murashige and Skoog 1962) medium.
