Two bacterial species were isolated from petroleum hydrocarbon-contaminated soil. The isolates were characterized based on their gram reaction characteristics, morphological and biochemical properties. The results showed two bacteria isolated the first isolated: gram negative short rod, urease and nitrate reduction test showed a positive result , and glucose test showed positive result. And the second isolated: gram positive cocci, gelatin and Citrate utilization test showed a positive result , and maltose, mannitol test showed negative result. They were then incubated at (37) ° C for (48- 72) hours. This is based on comparison of results with Bergey Manual of systematic bacteriology. The isolates were identified to be: Pseudomonas pachastrellae (X1) Micrococcus brunensis (X2).

Isolation and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was screened from 15 samples of Syrian oily-soils to determine the ability to produce Lipase enzyme by Cetermide Agar, Tributrin Agar and Brain Heart Broth during 2007-2008 AD. The results sho wed that there were grown colonies with color of green or yellow-green surrounded with different diameter of clear zone in three samples and the identification by Mowasat Hospital revealed that it was Pseudomonas aeruginosa In addition, the results showed that the optimum conditions to produce lipase was 35 Cº with the pH degree of 8 and the time of production of lipase with highest activity of 63.3% was three days in submerged culture during the optimum conditions. These results illustrated the important of this isolates to produce and control lipase for industrial production.
The Mediterranean region is world’s leading olive growing area. A large amount of liquid waste results from olive oil extraction these wastewaters have a different effects an environmental . In this study, four fungal isolates from Samples of soil Polluted by olive mill wastewater ,this isolates follow to several types from deuteromycetes, they are follow to this types : Humicola sp., paecilomyces javanicus, Aspergillus terreus, Aspergillus flavus. They isolated them on tow media (PDA, CzA) and identify them on colony character ,Biometric and compare them with reference studies.
This study was conducted in the years 2008-2009-2010, it has analyzed for Staph. aureus and isolated from 100 samples of traditional ice cream sold to customers it has had collected from different regions parts of Damascus and his countryside. The study has been found that there was no violation of the Syrian standard for Staph. aureus. And the results were also diagnosed using the techniques of API Staph and PCR equal.
This research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Food Science laboratories to isolate lactic acid bacteria from some Syrian milk products (milk, yogurt, cheese) and determine some morphological, physiological characteristic and the ability of these isolates to ferment sugars.
Samples from carrot and lettuce roots, sclerotia of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, and soil were collected from south of Damascus during 2001. 82 isolates were isolated, 48 of them were isolated from roots, 27 from sarfuce of sclerotia, and 7 from soil around roots. Antgonisim capacity of these isolates was tested against S. Sclerotiorum in vitro. 7 bacterial isolates showed antagonistic effect on the growth of S. Sclerotiorum, the antagonism distance ranged bettwen (1.3 – 11 mm). The Isolate (K82.4), which was isolated from soil, showed antagonistic distance (11mm), and was the best of bacterial isolates. Three isolates were iddentified (K82.4 isolated from lettuce soil, FN3 isolated from surface of sclerotia, K4.4 isolated from carrot roots), that belong to Bacillus spp.
