The Mediterranean region is world’s leading olive growing area. A large amount of liquid waste results from olive oil extraction these wastewaters have a different effects an environmental . In this study, four fungal isolates from Samples of soil Polluted by olive mill wastewater ,this isolates follow to several types from deuteromycetes, they are follow to this types : Humicola sp., paecilomyces javanicus, Aspergillus terreus, Aspergillus flavus. They isolated them on tow media (PDA, CzA) and identify them on colony character ,Biometric and compare them with reference studies.
This study was carried out in nine sites of various altitudes. The sites represent scattered zones of Cordia myxa Forsk. as an introduced species in the coastal region, Lattakia governorate during 2010-2011. The research showed that there is an eff ect of altitude on the investigated trees in the different sites, and that there were significant differences in relation to the characteristics of the average of the following: tree height, length of leaf stalk, catkin length, canopy, fresh and dry leaf weight, and fruit weight. However, there were no effects of altitude on the species. There were also no observed significant differences in relation to the characteristics of the average of the following: the tree diameter, trunk length, flower number in one catkin, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, leaf humidity percentage, flowering start, and flowering period. It can be said that there were changes in the morphological characteristics of the studied trees in the different sites, which appeared to be a preliminary indication of the impact of altitude on the variations of some morphological characteristics of Cordia myxa Forsk.
This study had been carried out to investigate the effect of inbreeding on some morphological traits in purebred Syrian Arabian foals. Data of 10 body measurements for 108 horses included 60 colts and 48 fillies were collected at Bassel Al-Assad s tud for purebred Arabian horses. It consisted of wither height, croup height, complete body length, back line length, chest depth, chest width, chest girth, neck girth, croup width, and cannon bone length for front legs. Pedigree data were extracted from stud book of purebred Syrian Arabian horses with four ancestor generations and Inbreeding coefficients were estimated. General linear model (GLM) was used to study the effect of inbreeding on studied traits. The results cleared that growth rate for biometric traits in Syrian Arabian foals similar to other Arabian foals in different regions. On other hand, it was different from growth rate of foals of other breeds.
