There are a lot of studies with conflicting results about the correlation between blood levels of vitamin D and lipid profile (total cholesterol, LDLc, HDLc) and the effect of treatment with vitamin D supplements on it. This study aimed to investig ate the effect of vitamin D and calcium supplements on lipid profile. This study included 59 volunteers who received these supplements for prevention of osteoporosis as a prescription from orthopedic doctors between 11/2016 to 1/2018. The average of age was 49±8 years. The plasma values of TC, LDLc, HDLc were measured using enzymatic colorimetric method ( Biosystems kits ) in Tishreen hospital before treatment and after two months. The results were analyzed by T-Student test, and P value <0.05 was considered significant. The mean plasma levels of LDLc before treatment were (100.983 ±28.36) mg/dl, and after two months of treatment were (102.249±27.478) mg/dl, and the difference was not significant. The mean plasma levels of HDLc before treatment were (68.056 ±14.369) mg/dl and after two months of treatment were (62.715 ± 14.39) mg/dl, and the difference was significant. We advise to measure plasma lipid levels during treatment with these supplements depending on the changes that observed in this study.
The increase in sugar, cholesterol and triglyceride among the citizens of my country is not insignificant, so I went to study the causes of this phenomenon. Among these reasons is the genetic disorder that has been caused by a disorder in the lipid proteins. I studied at least fifty cases of familial genetic disorder, Cholesterol, and triglyceride levels.
The experiment was conducted on 24 brown laying hens at 30 weeks old and were randomly assigned to four groups, each consisting of six laying hens and put in individual cages stacked in accordance with the battery system in the unit of poultry fee d at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Hama, in order to study the effect of different types of oil and fat on performance, apparent and true metabolizable energy, and apparent and true fats digestibility.
Aiming to develop the growth, to decrease antibiotic and increase immunity of poultry, propolis and garlic powder was used in feeding of broiler chicken by adding it in the form of dry powder . The research was carried out on Hubberd hybrid which they are locally existed. Birds were divided into four groups (control and three experiment groups).
Aiming to study the effect of propolis powder on some blood parameters of sheep, propolis powder was used in feeding of sheep by adding it in the form of dry powder . The research was carried out Syrian Awassi sheep which they are locally existed . Sheep were divided into four groups (control and three experiment groups) (2 , 3 , 4) k.g/100k.g diet of propolis powder were added to diets.
In research we studied the effect of vitamin C on the level of total cholesterol ،triglycerides ، (HDL) and (LDL) in the stressful rabbits blood by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) . We used 30 rabbits were divided into three groups:First groupnot stresse d (control group) ، Second group (Group stressed by H2O2) left without treatment until the end of the experimental period ، third group (Group stressful by hydrogen peroxide) was given orally vitamin C solution at a rate of 100 mg / kg of body weight per a day for five weeks.
In Alassad Hospital we studied a population of 70 patients with pleural effusion for a period from August 2014 to Agust 2015 . The patients were 40men(57.1%) and 30 women(42.9) . According to the criteria used , 23(32.9%)patients were transudative ef fusions , and 47(67.1%)had exudative effusions . In our study we measured the level of cholesterol in the pleural fluid to assess the role of this measure in differentiating between transudativ and exudative effusion and the different causes of the effusion . We found that : pleural fluid cholesterol levels were significantly lower in the transudative than in exudative effusions ( 10.702±21.8 mg/dL and 32.67±69.39 mg/L respectively ) , but Light's criteria is better than level of cholesterol in pleural effusion to differentiate between the two types of effusions . but the stsatistic result improved when we add cholesterol into lights criteria . In the exudative effusion with lymphocytic cholesterol level more than 72.5 mg/dL is a strong suggestion for tuberculosis effusion , whether the level lower suggestive of malignant for exudative effusions . So , levels of cholesterol in pleural effusion can narrow the differential diagnosis of pleural effusions and help for perfecting the results .
A trial was carried out to study the possibility of using fenugreek powder in the treatment of diabetes type(2). 48 Newzealand white male rabbits ( five months old)were used in this experiment.Theexperimental animals were randomly divided into fo ur groups. By using Aloluxan, we enforced diabetes type2 in three of the four groups of the experimental animals. The animals of the fourth group remained as a natural healthy control.
The purpose of this article is how to use HPLC technique for quantitive analysis of cholesterol in some foods. The best conditions are studied for this analysis including composition of mobile phase, temperature, flow rate, the wavelength of detec tor UV-VIS, and acidity of mobile phase. The column used for cholesterol determination by this method was: C18(5μm,250x4.6mm) with injection volume of 20μL. Methanol 100% was used as mobile phase.
Skin tags are common benign skin tumors usually occurring on the neck and major flexors of older people. Objective: To investigate and compare the prevalence of diabetes and disorders of triglycerides, cholesterol, LDL, and HDL levels in patients wit h skin tags and a control group. A case-control study was conducted in individuals between (25-70) years old, comparing cases (n=107) and age-, sex-matched controls (n=97) without skin tag. Cases and controls were recruited from patients consecutively seen at the outpatient dermatology clinic at Al-Assad University Hospital in Lattakia. All patients underwent standard laboratory tests of fasting blood sugar , triglycerides , cholesterol , LDL , and HDL levels. Results: Patients with skin tags had higher frequency of diabetes and higher levels of triglycerides , cholesterol , and LDL than the control group (P <=0.0001) and lower levels of HDL in patients with skin tags than the control group (P<=0.001). A positive correlation was found between the existing of skin tags and high BMI comparing with the control group (P<=0.0001). According to our results, skin tags might be a useful clinical sign that could alert clinicians to screen patients with skin tags for abnormal lipids, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disease, and guide patients with skin tags to modify their life style, avoiding risk factors and making clinical laboratory check-up periodically
