A trial was carried out to study the possibility of using
fenugreek powder in the treatment of diabetes type(2). 48
Newzealand white male rabbits ( five months old)were used
in this experiment.Theexperimental animals were randomly
divided into fo
ur groups. By using Aloluxan, we enforced
diabetes type2 in three of the four groups of the
experimental animals. The animals of the fourth group
remained as a natural healthy control.
The fastest medical evaluation possible is deemed vital to assuring the best possible
care for critical patients, several diagnostic tests are necessary to fully evaluate these
patients because care decisions will often be based on the results, usi
ng a functioning
peripheral venous catheter for obtaining blood samples helps patients, medical and nursing
staff. Objective: The objectives of this study were to compare between obtaining blood
samples from peripheral intravenous catheters and venipuncture on complete blood count
and glucose.
Tools and methods: This study was conducted on a sample of 80 patients, was
selected by simple random sampling who are employing in surgical yard in Al-Asad
University hospital, and obtains double blood specimens by two methods (Peripheral
venous catheters, venipuncture) and applying the same laboratory studies on it.
Results: The results showed that obtaining blood samples from peripheral venous
catheters is acceptable method for (WBC, RBC, HGB, HCT) where the value (0.05< P)
and unacceptable method for (PLT, GLU) where the value (0.05> P).
Ten growing Shami female dromedaries, 27 weeks old were used to
determine peripheral levels of glucose, IGF-1 and leptin in prepubertal Shami
dromedary heifers. Body weight(BW) was measured and blood samples were
collected weekly from the jugular
vein for 6 months in EDTA-containing tubes.
Serum was separated and stored at −20°C for later analysis. Glucose was
determined using a colorimetric glucose oxidase kit. Serum concentrations of
IGF-1 and leptin were assayed using some modifications of bovine radioimmunoassay
procedures. Animals were grouped according to their birth date,
body weight or average daily gain and variations in the plasma concentrations
of parameters as well as to the effect of studied factors were tested and assessed
by analysis of variance using the general linear model, repeated measurements
procedures of SAS. It is reported for the first time information on peripheral
levels of glucose, IGF-1 and leptin hormones in sexually immature dromedary
heifers and results indicated that BW had a significant effect (p<0.05) on IGF-1
levels. Overall means for glucose, Igf-1 and leptin, were 188 ± 4.11 mg\dl, 222 ±
6.43 ng\ml, and13.27 ± 0.16 ng\ml, respectively and it was found that those
concentrations were greater than values in sexually immature females in the
other domestic animals. Such information might be helpful for specialists to
search for the role of these hormones in the reproductive function and develop
breeding programs to reduce the period of the onset of puberty and increase
the reproductive performance of dromedary camels.
Sweeteners are used as alternatives of Sugar because of their slow
absorption and incomplete metabolism in human body, which are positively
destinies in setting free small amount of calorie.
This research presents the influence of ultrasonic on th
e sorbitol synthesis,
starting from Glucose by implementing hydrogenation using Lithium
Aluminum Hydride. The result we have reached by using the ultrasonic as
compared with mechanical mixing or other method have lead us to two
conclusions:
The first was that we have obtained almost the same quantity of the sorbitol.
The second was that by using ultrasonic, micelles of colloid Aluminum
hydroxide were accumulated. This accumulation resulted in an easy separation
by purification, which eventually lead to a super pure sorbitol solution.
We hope that these results will be useful for the Crystallography science.
Aiming to study the effect of propolis powder on some blood
parameters of sheep, propolis powder was used in feeding of sheep
by adding it in the form of dry powder .
The research was carried out Syrian Awassi sheep which they are
locally existed
.
Sheep were divided into four groups (control and three experiment
groups) (2 , 3 , 4) k.g/100k.g diet of propolis powder were added to
diets.
The specific aim of this study was to investigate the effects of
Methalonic Extract of Fenugreek and Nigella Sativa On Glucose
Levels In Blood In Diabetic Male Rabbits. The experiment was
carried out on(42) At Diabetic Male Rabbits divided into(7) groups
(6) animals of each.
The study was conducted in 2016. The samples of rice Oryza sativa L. straw
were collected from Dewania governorate/Iraq, and were brought to laboratory of
Directorate of Environmental and Water in Ministry of Science and Technology.
The samples we
re cleaned and milled, then stored in sterile containers. Local
cellulolytic bacterial isolate was cultivated and isolated on mineral and cellulose
medium, at 37 ºC for (24± 2) hours, the bacterial isolate was diagnosed as Bacillus sp.
depending on phenotypes of bacterial colonies on solid medium, microscopic
characters and some biochemical tests. Milled rice straw was chemically treated
with 1% of sodium hydroxide, then biological treatment by bacterial isolate Bacillus sp
cultivate in mineral medium with alkali treated rice straw as carbone source and
compared with cellulose standard medium. The bacterial growth was measured at
600 nm, which reached 0.974 in rice straw medium, while in cellulose medium
reached 0.853. For glucose concentration, the value reached 250 μg/ml in rice straw
medium, while in cellulose medium it was 210 μg/ml. The results concluded the
possibility of getting rid of rice husks, which is an environmental contaminant, and
to use it in the production of glucose.
