There is an increasing interest in continuous learning (CL), as data privacy is becoming a priority for real-world machine learning applications. Meanwhile, there is still a lack of academic NLP benchmarks that are applicable for realistic CL setting
s, which is a major challenge for the advancement of the field. In this paper we discuss some of the unrealistic data characteristics of public datasets, study the challenges of realistic single-task continuous learning as well as the effectiveness of data rehearsal as a way to mitigate accuracy loss. We construct a CL NER dataset from an existing publicly available dataset and release it along with the code to the research community.
In the Vision-and-Language Navigation (VLN) task an embodied agent navigates a 3D environment, following natural language instructions. A challenge in this task is how to handle off the path' scenarios where an agent veers from a reference path. Prio
r work supervises the agent with actions based on the shortest path from the agent's location to the goal, but such goal-oriented supervision is often not in alignment with the instruction. Furthermore, the evaluation metrics employed by prior work do not measure how much of a language instruction the agent is able to follow. In this work, we propose a simple and effective language-aligned supervision scheme, and a new metric that measures the number of sub-instructions the agent has completed during navigation.
Supervised systems have nowadays become the standard recipe for Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD), with Transformer-based language models as their primary ingredient. However, while these systems have certainly attained unprecedented performances, virt
ually all of them operate under the constraining assumption that, given a context, each word can be disambiguated individually with no account of the other sense choices. To address this limitation and drop this assumption, we propose CONtinuous SEnse Comprehension (ConSeC), a novel approach to WSD: leveraging a recent re-framing of this task as a text extraction problem, we adapt it to our formulation and introduce a feedback loop strategy that allows the disambiguation of a target word to be conditioned not only on its context but also on the explicit senses assigned to nearby words. We evaluate ConSeC and examine how its components lead it to surpass all its competitors and set a new state of the art on English WSD. We also explore how ConSeC fares in the cross-lingual setting, focusing on 8 languages with various degrees of resource availability, and report significant improvements over prior systems. We collected a corpus of human-human task-oriented dialogs rich in dissatisfaction and built a model that used prosodic features to predict when the user was likely dissatisfied. For utterances this attained a F.25 score of 0.62,against a baseline of
0.39. Based on qualitative observations and failure analysis, we discuss likely ways to improve this result to make it have practical utility.

This research aimed for using Geographic Information System (GIS) in producing
Digital Elevation Model (DEM) for Dimas District, By applying various methods: Spatial
Analyst, Geo Statistical Analyst, Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN), and interp
olating
DEM from contour lines.
The study showed that the best methods for interpolating DEM is Kriging method,
Which interpolated an evaluated surface for scattered points which had (Z values) whether
they were closed or scattered from each other. And (TIN) method which required less area
on hard disc to be stored comparing with other methods, and it's perfect for representing
surfaces in wide areas, Also generating DEM from contour lines produced DEM which had
very accurate representing for surfaces.

This study discusses the effect of relationship conflict in the
organizational commitment of the academic staff at Tishreen
University and, accordingly, this research aims to determine the
degree of influence of relationship conflict in the organi
zational
commitment level, Determine the effect of demographic variables
(gender, experience, age) in the relationship conflict among them.
The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach in
conducting the search. The sample consisted of search (290) of
Members of the academic staff at the University of Tishreen.
We offer in this research study of the probability density
function of a continuous random variable. Where we have to
reached to results that show the oneness of the general shape of
this function when it is linear or quadratic, as we came up to
the general formula for this function for each of the above two
cases. It was clarified the necessary and sufficient conditions of
a linear and quadratic function to be, a continuous probability
density function.

Aluminum Alloy 6063 is used widely in extrusion industry for
building and automobile applications. Aluminum billet is
manufactured usually by vertical continuous casting technique and direct water cooling. 5 different casting temperatures 660, 680,
700, 720, 740Cº, besides 5 different casting speeds 100, 112, 125, 138, 150 mm/min to control cool water feeding are chosen. It has noticed that the increase of casting temperature and decreasing of casting speed has a good effect on improving billet quality which contribute later on improving the hardness and mechanical properties of extruded aluminum profiles.
