Business activities and role of small and medium-sized enterprises SME's in increasing gross domestic product GDP in Syria

This research highlight the business activities and the role of small and mediumsized enterprises SME's in the national economy, and expectancy role of this sector is increasing economic activity, securing jobs and increasing gross domestic product GDP in general. It also focuses on the most important characteristics and features of the sector of SME's in Syria. In addition to review of the main weaknesses facing the national economy in general and this sector, in particular, which contributed to the derivation of many suggestions contribute to the advancement and development of business environment and SME's and to the promotion and support its role in national economy.

Syrian industry and international agreements

Industry Occupies a great importance in national economy , and increases the prestige importance in light of the international arena' variables directly linked to the exchange of international trade and the relationship of states to each other and the impacts on the balance of trade for these countries , and in this context, Syria has held a number of bilateral agreements and entering into blocs regional economic and achieve the desired results of these agreements has taken several steps over the harmonization of legislation with the requirements of the global economy and the issuance of new legislation to adapt its trade with global trade rules , but the initial results were not of the level of ambition , despite the availability of economic possibilities and opportunities untapped , so Syria were not the winner of all the agreements struck with the states and other blocs , including the Free Trade Area of the Greater Arab , that there was a defect is it not real understanding of the policies put forward for these countries means that there is a lack of understanding of the objectives of these conglomerates , or that there is a defect in the mechanisms follow-up and application by the competent organs and their application ?

The Economic Role of Small and Medium Enterprises in Syria

The advancement of small and medium enterprises sector(SMEs), activating its developmental role in general, and its role in employment in particular, is considered an important goal for most countries of the world, whereas many economists believe that the development of SMEs, and encouraging its establishment is one of the most important tributaries of the economic and social development. This research clarifies the concept of SMEs in Syria, its economic importance and studies its contribution in the national economy in Syria.
