A field experiment was carried out in Hout research station- Agriculture research center in Swaida – General Commission For Scientific Research Agricultural during the growing season of 2015-2016 to study the effect of different levels of deficit irrigation with different levels of town refuse compost (TRC)on some morphological parameters and the productivity of lettuce and compare it with the common mineral fertilizers. The experiment was designed as a split block design with three levels of irrigation, each level has four fertilizing treatments and control with three replicates. The research has studied the plant height (H), the number of its leaves (N) ,the leaf area (LAL), the plant's leaves area (LAP), the leaves area index (LAI), in addition to the lettuce head's fresh weight and the total productivity of the planted area. The irrigation and fertilizing interaction results indicate to the obvious positive effect of the organic additions on the productivity parameters and the efficiency of deficit irrigation, and the significant superiority of T11 treatment in all of the measured parameters in compare with the other treatments with an increased final yield of %169 comparing with T15 and % 428 comparing with T35. The results also indicate to the possibility of saving %25 of the consumed amount of irrigation water by using TRC instead of mineral fertilizer , and reveal that the organicmineral combination achieved a better yield with percentages of ( 29- 44 – 53 )% comparing with single mineral fertilizer in the three studied irrigation levels (T1-T2-T3) respectively. These results give the farmer a wide range of possibilities to choose what suits his available productivity needs , and a clear idea about the expected yield according to the chosen treatment.

The experiment carried out in the agricultural Center (Boqa) of Tishreen University, in the province of Lattakia, during the agricultural season (2014), in order to study the effect of different types (cattle, sheep, poultry) and rates (0, 15.30 to n/ha) of the compost on durum wheat (Doma1). It farmed on (11.23.2014), according to complete system of randomized sectors (27 bis). The compost was added within the lines of Agriculture (10/06/2014). The results showed a response to the average of all the studied traits (plant density (plant/m2), plant height (cm), the length of awn (cm), grains/spike weight (g), the weight of 1000 grains (g)) positively organic fertilizing. While no significant differences were recorded in the averages of the traits studied (plant density (plant/m2), plant height (cm), the length of awn (cm), grains/spike weight (g), 1000 grains weight (g)) under the manure type. In the case of overlap between the type and the rate of organic manure, it has recorded a significant and high differences between the treatments. The treatment (30 ton/ha-1 poultry) was the most influential of all the studied traits. It gave the following results: plant density (331.70 plants/m2), plant height (95.85cm), the length of awn (16.24 cm), grains/spike weight (1.66 g), 1000 grains weight (49.57 g).
This study was carried out in the nursery gardens of Tishreen University in the early spring period in 2014, to study the effect of different levels of dry organic manure in the growth and productivity of potato plants (class Spunta), in randomized complete design, study included six treatments: control ( cow organic manure amount of 4 kg/m2) and five treatment with five levels of dry organic manure (100-150-200-250-300 g/m2) .The results showed an increase in stem height, number of stem, foliage area, production and percent of standard tubers by adding dry organic manure at level of 250 g/m2 while Treatment with 300g/m2 contributed an increase of folige area, height of plant and stem number while causing reduced plant production, tuber average weight and production of standard tubers. The result showed also no significant differences between the control and the treatment of 250 g/m2dry organic manure in each of the folige area, production and standard tubers
This study was conducted in Abu-Jarash farm at the Faculty of Agriculture, Damascus University during the main season 2013 to evaluate the effect of soil solarization and organic fertilization treatments on the productivity of some maize genotypes (Basel 1, Basel 2, Ghouta 1, Ghouta 82 and Local White). The experiment was laid out according to split-split plot design with three replications. The statistical analysis results clearly indicated to the existence of variability in the response of studied maize genotypes to soil solarization and organic fertilization treatments. The genotype Ghouta 82 surpassed in the traits of plant height, leaf area index, 100-kernel weight and grain yield (150.25 cm, 2.84, 28.10 g and 7.99 ton.ha-1) respectively, as compared to other studied genotypes and was closely followed by the genotype Basel 2 which recorded the highest number of rows per ear (13.83 row/ear). Soil solarization for 45 days before sowing and applying organic manures at the rate of 20 ton.ha-1 encouraged the traits of plant height, leaf area index, number of rows and grains per ear, 100-kernel weight which was reflected on grain yield. Therefore we can grow variety Ghouta 82 or hybrid Basel 2 to get higher yield of maize.
Predicting crop yield response to irrigation level is increasingly important to optimize irrigation under limited available water and for enhancing sustainability and profitable production. This study was carried out to evaluate the performance of CropWat model in predicting deficit irrigation effect on cotton crop, and to explore some alternatives for cotton irrigation. Crop yield and water use data were collected from a 3-yr (2007-2009) field experiment to assess the response of drip-irrigated cotton to deficit irrigation (DI).
The experiment was carried out at the end of April during 2013 In Abi- Jarash farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Damascus University in order to determine the influence of organic fertilization on the growth and yield of Snap bean. The snap bean ”Tema” Phaseolus Varity, and organic fertilizer” Humax” with two methods (root application and foliar spry) and two concentrations (2 and 4 g/L) were used. The organic fertilizer was used after two weeks of germination and then two weeks between treatment and another and the experiment was laid according to simple randomized block design. Results showed that organic fertilizer caused an increase of plants growth and yield, and the foliar spray method showed significant superiority (p<0.05) to some of the studied parameter such as plant dry weight (6.89 g), leaf area (4595.44 cm2), leaf area index (2.55), number of clusters (15.3 cluster/ plant), number of pods (29.6 pod/plant), plant yield (156.9 g/plant), compared to the root applied method. Results also showed no significant effect for the fertilizer concentration.
