In this paper we introduce a vision towards establishing the Malta National Language Technology Platform; an ongoing effort that aims to provide a basis for enhancing Malta's official languages, namely Maltese and English, using Machine Translation. This will contribute towards the current niche of Language Technology support for the Maltese low-resource language, across multiple computational linguistics fields, such as speech processing, machine translation, text analysis, and multi-modal resources. The end goals are to remove language barriers, increase accessibility, foster cross-border services, and most importantly to facilitate the preservation of the Maltese language.
This paper explores how technology, particularly digital tools and artificial intelligence, are impacting multilingual communication and language transfer processes. Information and communication technologies are enabling novel interaction patterns, with computers transitioning from pure media to actual language generators, and profoundly reshaping the industry of language services, as the relevance of language data and assisting engines continues to rise. Since these changes deeply affect communication and languages models overall, they need to be addressed not only from the perspective of information technology or by business-driven companies, but also in the field of translation and interpreting studies, in a broader debate among scholars and practitioners, and when preparing educational programs for the training of specialised language professionals. Special focus is devoted to some of the latest advancements in automatic speech recognition and spoken translation, and how their applications in interpreting may push the boundaries of new augmented' real-world use cases. Hence, this work---at the intersection of theoretical investigation, professional practice, and instructional design---aims at offering an introductory overview of the current landscape and envisaging potential paths for forthcoming scenarios.
This contribution describes a two-course module that seeks to provide humanities majors with a basic understanding of language technology and its applications using Python. The learning materials consist of interactive Jupyter Notebooks and accompanying YouTube videos, which are openly available with a Creative Commons licence.

This study aimed to determine the reality of scientific research in Syria compared to Arab Countries, and some developed countries, by comparing the proportion of expenditure on research and development of local output, the number of researchers and technicians working in research and development, the number of research articles published in international journals, the number of Syrian researchers registered in the Google Scholar search engine, the number of citations to their researches, the number of researches published in Tishreen University, in addition to the number of researches registered and completed for postgraduate students at Tishreen University during the period 2008-2018, the number of Syrian researchers registered in the Researchgate research site, as well as the number of applications for patents for accreditation in the Arab Countries, the value of exports of high technology and the proportion of those exports of transformative exports; and determine the components of scientific research to be available to create added value to the Syrian Universities. The researcher adopted the survey methodology and distributed the questionnaire to 289 members of the teaching staff at Tishreen University. The most important result of the study was that, the participation of the Syrian Universities in attracting talent, participation in local, Arab and international conferences, seminars and workshops, providing research labs, modern computers, participation in search engines, research sites, databases and financing of external publications are effective Foundations for creating added value. Then, some recommendations were presented that would contribute to the creation of added value, the most important of which are: increasing the percentage of expenditure on scientific research, employing researchers, encouraging researchers to publish in international journals, establishing cooperation relations with local, Arab and international research organizations and developing them.
Customer Retention Management (CRM) provides a strong competitive advantage for the organization to stay in the market. It helps management to track customer interactions with the organization and allows employees access to all customer,s previous i nformation; CRM gains its importance by creating a strategic vision to achieve the organization's goals of maintaining customers and reaching loyalty through integration with marketing policies and product development To increase the sales of the organization and to make offers that attract the target customer and interact with him in a way that ensures its preservation. The aim of the study is to define the reality of the application of CRM during the crisis period (2011-2018) in the Syrian private banks in Lattakia, and study the dimensions of customer relationship management in these banks, and then study the impact of these dimensions on the performance indicators that were measured through indicators of profitability, customer complaints, strong relationships with customers, customer satisfaction and loyalty. In order to achieve this, two main hypotheses were formulated. The researcher used the questionnaire technique to collect the data analyzed using statistical tests, the most important of which were the one-sample t. test, and the Pearson Correlation test. The researcher has reached several results, the most important of which is: a good evaluation of the availability of CRM dimensions in the studied banks, and there is a positive relationship between these dimensions and performance.

Information and communication technology (ICT), Gross capital formation, Openness, and Inflation are frequently well-thought-out as important drivers of economic growth for all countries, and especially for developing countries. This study aims to examine the effect of these factors no economic growth in Syria covering the period from 1995-2012, with main interest of the impact of ICT. To this end, the study utilized annual time series data set over the period 1990 to 2010. Econometric techniques include testing the stationary of data by applying (ADF) test and applying Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method of estimation. Moreover, Short run and long run estimates were found . The paper confirms a negative and statistically significant relationship between the economic growth and technology index in the short run, but the relationship becomes positive and statistically significant in the long run. This paper confirms a negative and statistically significant relationship between the economic growth and GFC in the short run, but the relationship becomes positive and statistically significant in the long run, where the relationship between openness and economic growth is positive both in the short and long run, whereas the relationship between the inflation rate and economic growth is negative both in the short and long run.
The modern economic environment is characterized by its unstable variables due to the increasing competition conditions and the great technological development in various fields. This requires various sectors of the economy, including banks, to co ntinuously strive to keep abreast of developments and to find competitive advantages that will enable them to continue and stay in the market. The aim of the research is to study the extent to which Syrian banks have achieved competitive advantage based on the subjective indicators by comparing them of the Commercial Bank of Syria and the Bank of Syria and overseas. A basic hypothesis was drawn up, with three sub-hypotheses, which were tested by the Statistical Package for Social Sciences, SPSS V (23). The researcher came up with several results, the most important of which are: The Commercial Bank of Syria and the Bank of Syria and overseas achieve a competitive advantage, Commercial Bank of Syria outperforms in the indices of capital adequacy and liquidity and quality of employees, while the Bank of Syria and overseas outperforms in the index of information systems and technology.
With the increasing trend towards the adoption of the modern data of building technology in architecture represented by the so-called smart buildings in an exaggerated and sometimes concise manner governed by the reality of the architectural state of the target, the question arises between the extent of the inevitability of the application of these data and their long-term feasibility? And the extent of the realistic consensus dimension for its actual adoption and the move towards a smart architectural future with its inputs and outputs? Therefore, the research aims to highlight the intelligent buildings concept and direction to reach a qualitative understanding of the need to adopt them as a future direction for our local economy in an integrated manner can be directed and formulated in proportion to the possibility of maintaining an architectural safety distance through which can ensure positive change in the direction of the future.
