EBV virus is a herpes virus which affects human and causes Mononucleosis Infection and may play a role in lymphoma. lymphoma has two types (H or NH) This study was performed between 2016-2017 at Tishreen University Hospital – Oncology department; we took blood samples and performed ELISA Test (Anti EBNA IgG) to all patients with lymphoma. 57 patients (31 male 54.4% and 26 female 45.6%) with lymphoma. Sex doesn't has statistical significance on lymphoma 25-50 year was the most age group affected by lymphoma We have 26 patients with Hodgkin lymphoma 45.6% and 31 patient with nonHodgkin lymphoma 54.4% In our study EBV disease found to have a role in causing lymphoma (P=0.004) but it doesn't cause a specific type of lymphoma (P=0.06). We noticed a relationship between the type of Hodgkin lymphoma and EBV disease (P=0.034) especially Nodular sclerosis and Mixed cellularity type but we didn't notice this relationship in nonhodgkin lymphoma.
The aim of this study was to investigate the specific antibodies and to determine the seroprevalence of Chlamydophila abortus on abortive cows in north area in Syria. Blood samples were collected and analyzed from 41 cows, aborted at least once, taken from 316 cows suspected from eight herds in north region of Syria.
Lung cancer is the major cause of cancer death. S100A7 overexpression has been associated with early stages of carcinomas . This study aimed to evaluate the levels of serum S100A7 in lung cancer. Our study contains 63 patients of lung cancer (46 newly diagnosis patients, 11 treated patients, 6 recurrence patients) and 15 healthy volunteers
Several studies and reports have indicated the prevalence of hepatitis D virus infection in many parts of the world at different rates , Ranging from areas of epidemiological and areas with a low prevalence of it. Till now there is no study in Syr ia shows us the prevalence of viruse Delta in chronic hepatitis B patients . The aim of our study was to determine the current prevalence of hepatitis D in chronic hepatitis B patients . And to take appropriate measures in dealing with these patients due to the increased risk of liver disease in the event of injury by it . 77 patients with chronic hepatitis B certainly proved with PCR analysis 25 women and 52 men visiting the center of hepatitis in Latakia were tested for antibody to hepatitis D virus (anti-HDV) by ELISA test . The results indicate a positive antibody in three patients (women and 2 men) and the prevalence was 3.8% , which point to a moderate prevalence of hepatitis D comparing with neighboring countries.
The search has been performed on blood samples from cows with different ages and various multi-productive purposes from a number of farms to detect sera-prevalence percentage of brucella abortus infection in cows using Competitive Enzyme Linked I mmune Sorbent Assay. The test results have shown general serum spread by the percentage 5882%. The rate of antibodies of serum spread in the cows in different farms under study have been between 0.00% and 16.66%.
Bladder cancer is the most common malignancy of the urinary tract, and has the fastest rate of recurrence which gives it high prevalence of tumors all over the world. Early diagnosis is very important for treatment efficacy, prevent tumor progress ion and prolong survival period, so many urinary markers have been studied but early diagnosis of carcinoma of bladder remains a challenge. Survivin is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein family (IAPs), whose irregular expression is associated with tumor cell proliferation, progression, angiogenesis, therapeutic resistance, and poor prognosis.
The incidence of contamination with ochratoxin A (OTA) in baby food products consumed in Syria was investigated using the competitive enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique.
This study evaluates the maternal immunity to chicken anemia virus in broiler chicks. Two groups, of only one day old chicks, have been breeding . The first group was obtained from a vaccinated breeder flock against chicken anemia virus .The s econd one was obtained from unvaccinated breeder flock against the same disease. Blood samples were collected from the chicks every five days starting from the first day of their birth. The test was performed enzyme –linked immunoassay (ELISA) to measure antibody titer for chicken anemia virus in these birds. The research results have shown that the average antibody levels for the first group was (3344) for the one day old chicks while (4144) for the second group. The results have also shown that there was a decrease in the average antibody levels during 15 days. This research has proved prevalence of disease in unvaccinated flock
Background & Objective: The plant creates raw materials through primal metabolism in order to maintain crucial lively operations. While in the case that the plant is subjected to inhibition of growth as a result to environmental circumstances char acterized by a high level of salinity, the Digitalis Purpurea used in this experiment changes its biological potential like bio-creation to form other necessary materials that take part in secondary metabolism operations, and hence affect the creation of glycosides that strengthen the heart, which Digoxin is one of.
According to the high specificity and sensitivity of ELISA test, we tried in this preliminary study, to certify the usefulness of ELISA test in the detection of specific antibodies (IgG) to cutaneous leishmaniasis(CL) in SYRIA, in order to certify the diagnosis of this disease by using the classic methods (observation microscopic – culture).
