The purpose of this study was to evaluate the twelfth grade (science
stream) mathematics textbook from the teachers’ perspective in light of
(the economy of knowledge). The study also explored the effect of
gender and experience within the sample.
The sample consisted of 75
male and female teachers all of whom were randomly selected from
government schools in the five directorates in Amman during the
academic year of 2009/2010. In order to achieve the purpose of this
study, the researcher developed a questionnaire that was made up of 30
items which were distributed over 5 domains. The results revealed that 4
of these domains received high scores (high quality) in which the average
was over 3.7. However, the content domain received the lowest scores
(medium quality). In addition, the results showed that there were no
statistical differences in the sample with regard to gender. On the other
hand, there were statistical differences regarding the teachers’ experience
wherein the more experienced teachers gave a higher evaluation of the
textbook than the less experienced ones.
The present study aimed at investigating the perspectives of Arabic Language
teachers in North-eastern Badia Directorate of Education of their training needs based on
their knowledge of economy standards. The variables of the study are gender, qual
ification
and years of experience.
This research aims to identify the extent of the practice of
mathematics teachers at the secondary level of the roles of the
teacher in the light of the knowledge-based economy from the
perspective of mentors specialists. Was preparing a questionnaire
consisting of 38 items, applied to all directors math workers of the
province of Hama Education Directorate's (10).
Nowadays, the world witnesses a great knowledge wealth that has allowed the developed countries to transform their economies into what is called « Knowledge Economy ». This term, entirely, means producing, spreading and using knowledge in between its
sectors by investing in its fundamental constituents that are manifested in education, research and development.
Through this research, we aim at showing the notions related to the knowledge economy and at the diagnosis of its practical fact in Algeria by presenting the principal challenges that faced this new type of economy and by looking for the mechanisms which must be adopted by the state in order to overcome these obstacles.
