The effect of green manure and biofertilizer by using (Lupinus albus and Lupinus albu s + Rhizobium) on some soil properties and potato growth and production during two successive seasons of 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 was studied. The results showed that green manure provided the soil with 3.75 kg/m2 green organic matter including (398 g dry matter and 14 g nitrogen), while lupinus albus + Rhizobium provided the soil with 4.55 kg/m2 green organic matter including (581 g dry matter and 22.3 g nitrogen) and improved soil chemical properties. The results showed as well that biofertilizer significant improved potato growth parameters: plant and tuber dry matter, foliage surface, foliage index, plant length, plant elements content (N,P,K,Ca and Mg), tuber number and their content of nitrate and protein .The results showed as well that biofertilizer significant improved marketing potato yield.
The research was carried out during 2009 – 2010 in Al – Hasaka – Amoda – to study the effect of cattle manure at the rate of 30 ton/h1, and four organic green fertilizers (Lentil, Vetch, Faba bean and Barely) on plant area and earliness properties of cotton crop compared with chemical fertilizer 400 kg/h1 urea, 83 kg/h1 P2O5 and 25 kg/h1 K2O.The study showed that the cattle manure significantly increased (plant area, lower first fruiting branch, earliness of flowering and boll maturity) when compared with all studied fertilizers, the increase reached (190. 92 Cm2, 0.30 pod, 1.50 day and 0.90 day) respectively. When compared with chemical fertilizer, the legume green fertilizers (Lentil, Vetch and Faba bean) significantly increased the plant area when compared with the control. The legume green fertilizer (Lentil) significantly increased the earliness of flowering (2.73) day and boll maturity (2.21) day when compared with the green fertilizer (Barely). The chemical fertilizer did not significantly affect the earliness of flowering and boll maturity when compared with the legume green fertilizer (Lentil) during the two seasons.
This research was carried out at the Agricultural Scientific Research Center in AL-Gab during 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 seasons in fall. The experiment was laid according to split plot design with three replicates, to study the effect of potassium fert ilization on the technological and productive properties of two varieties of sugar beet (Suprima, D.S. 9004) in AL-Gab area. Four levels of potassium fertilization (0-120-170-220 kg K2O/h) were used. The results showed that the addition of potassium fertilization significantly improved the qualitative and quantitative properties of sugar beet. The higher sucrose (%), yield of root (ton/h) and white sucrose (ton/h) were at the potassium level 170 Kg K2O/h which reached 16.18%, 83.02 ton/h and 11.65 ton/h respectively.
A field experiment was carried out during 2003 and 2004 in Edleb governorate to study the effect of phosphate solubilizing bacteria (Bacillus megaterium) and cows manure on solubilization of phosphate rock, cotton productivity, and phosphate uptak e. The amounts of phosphate rock and superphosphate were added by the same amount of P2O5. An amount of nitrogen fertilizer as urea, was added to treatment 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 , whereas treatment 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 received amounts of organic fertilizer having the same amount of N added to treatment 1-6 (MAAR recommendation).
This study was conducted in Abu-Jarash farm at the Faculty of Agriculture, Damascus University during the main season 2013 to evaluate the effect of soil solarization and organic fertilization treatments on the productivity of some maize genotypes (Basel 1, Basel 2, Ghouta 1, Ghouta 82 and Local White). The experiment was laid out according to split-split plot design with three replications. The statistical analysis results clearly indicated to the existence of variability in the response of studied maize genotypes to soil solarization and organic fertilization treatments. The genotype Ghouta 82 surpassed in the traits of plant height, leaf area index, 100-kernel weight and grain yield (150.25 cm, 2.84, 28.10 g and 7.99 ton.ha-1) respectively, as compared to other studied genotypes and was closely followed by the genotype Basel 2 which recorded the highest number of rows per ear (13.83 row/ear). Soil solarization for 45 days before sowing and applying organic manures at the rate of 20 ton.ha-1 encouraged the traits of plant height, leaf area index, number of rows and grains per ear, 100-kernel weight which was reflected on grain yield. Therefore we can grow variety Ghouta 82 or hybrid Basel 2 to get higher yield of maize.
