Women shared men in the cultural aspects of life during the Abbasid ear, by proving to be famous poets and authors. Throughout the ages, Egypt had the honour of being the country where the Kiswa (the embroidered black cloth covering the Kaaba) had been manufactured. The Kiswa had been made in Egypt – renowned for manufacturing such a textile - from the Pre-Isla mic Age down to the Islamic Age and throughout the successive Arabic and Islamic historical stages. The Kiswa was looked at as a political, military, and civilizational emblem for it was an emblem of sovereignty in both the Arab and Islamic Worlds. The Mamluki sultans had endeavored to achieve such a status since the very beginning of their being in power and the rulers of Egypt. The Mamluki sultans had maintained the hounor of having this dignified religious emblem and they were involved in conflicts with other powers just to maintain their patronage of this holy emblem which denotes political, military, and cultural sovereignty.

This paper attempts at focusing on analyzing the poetic structure of a pre-and-post- Islamic poet who witnessed and lived in the early Islamic and Umayyad Eras. In this regard, the paper attempts at categorizing the major subjective characteristics of a famous poet, such as Al-Farazdaq, who represented a unique phenomenon on the creative, literary, and poetic scene, through the poetic satirical exchanges with Jareer, the Umayyad poet laureate. All this is being dealt with through trying to trace the major characteristics of this ego and the impact it had left on the Arab poetic output.
The research deals with city image in the divan of the poet Abdul-Aziz Al-mukaleh. It searches for the objective dimensions of the image and shows its importance and variety devoting itself for the image in a way related to general native, national and human issues. It also deals with the aesthetic dimensions of the city image, and investigates its language, music and how it can get benefit of the heritage in a multi-dimensional way. The research has tried to define the features of the city image at Al-mukaleh, which are related tightly to Yemen and its history, and that has made the city image – at Al-mukaleh – more distinguished than that of other Arab poets, like Al-Bayani, Abdul-Sabour, Hijazi and others. The researcher has also referred to the poet’s success in conveying his message to the reader, and what helped him to do that was a clear linguistic form, which we can say about it: “ easy but rather impossible “. And an honesty of an intellectual attitude which is equal to the saying: “what comes from the heart pours in it “.
