We present a method to support the annotation of head movements in video-recorded conversations. Head movement segments from annotated multimodal data are used to train a model to detect head movements in unseen data. The resulting predicted movement
sequences are uploaded to the ANVIL tool for post-annotation editing. The automatically identified head movements and the original annotations are compared to assess the overlap between the two. This analysis showed that movement onsets were more easily detected than offsets, and pointed at a number of patterns in the mismatches between original annotations and model predictions that could be dealt with in general terms in post-annotation guidelines.
FrameNet is a lexical semantic resource based on the linguistic theory of frame semantics. A number of framenet development strategies have been reported previously and all of them involve exploration of corpora and a fair amount of manual work. Desp
ite previous efforts, there does not exist a well-thought-out automatic/semi-automatic methodology for frame construction. In this paper we propose a data-driven methodology for identification and semi-automatic construction of frames. As a proof of concept, we report on our initial attempts to build a wider-scale framenet for the legal domain (LawFN) using the proposed methodology. The constructed frames are stored in a lexical database and together with the annotated example sentences they have been made available through a web interface.
This paper investigates updates of Universal Dependencies (UD) treebanks in 23 languages and their impact on a downstream application. Numerous people are involved in updating UD's annotation guidelines and treebanks in various languages. However, it
is not easy to verify whether the updated resources maintain universality with other language resources. Thus, validity and consistency of multilingual corpora should be tested through application tasks involving syntactic structures with PoS tags, dependency labels, and universal features. We apply the syntactic parsers trained on UD treebanks from multiple versions (2.0 to 2.7) to a clause-level sentiment extractor. We then analyze the relationships between attachment scores of dependency parsers and performance in application tasks. For future UD developments, we show examples of outputs that differ depending on version.
The soil water erosion risk is one of the most important problems and
challenges facing the agricultural process in the Syrian coast today. The aim
of this study was to determine the spatial distribution of dangerous areas of
water erosion in the
basin of the Mrqyieh River using CORINE model. To
achieve this objective, the first phase of the study was to evaluate the soil
erosion viability based on soil characteristics (soil texture, soil depth and
percentage of stones); these properties were classified according to their
influence degree on soil erosion. The potential risk erosion map was based
on crossing all information obtained from soil erodibility, erosivity index
and the degree of slope at study area by using GIS technologies. The land
cover map of the study was produced and classified to two classes
depending on soil protection degree. Then, an actual risk map of soil erosion
was prepared after crossing land cover and potential risk erosion classes of
study sites. This study showed that 14.8% of the studied area facing high
risk of soil erosion, while the soil risk was moderate in 40.4% and low in
44.8% of the study area. The highly risked erosion area was located in the
center, northern and northwest parts of the study area. Moreover, the study
confirmed that the land cover is the most influential factor on soil water
erosion. The results showed that the Corine model for soil water erosion
mapping is a highly effective and cost-effective approach
A brief Explain about the use of the Agile Scrum methodology for building and developing software applications. This methodology provides a working environment to ensure rapid and continuous production of applications.
Software engineering is an important concept for the development of information
systems, which is more than coding or writing of programs, that it includes quality,
scheduling, economics and knowledge of the application of principles. Software is s
ubject
to errors in manufacturing and operation and needs to be evaluated like any other product.
In this research paper, we present a development of the traditional programmatic model
of software engineering using the CRISP-DM methodology, which is primarily used in
data extraction engineering systems, that aims to improve software quality. We study the
effect of introducing this methodology in terms of reducing the number of errors
discovered in software and its impact on error detection at an early stage of the software
life cycle.
The results showed that the use of this methodology helped to reduce the errors
discovered in the software after the development process. It also helped to detect a greater
percentage of errors in the early stages of the software life cycle, which helps to increase
the quality of the software, compared to a relatively low number of lines. Code because of
applying the proposed methodology.
The velocity and direction of the wind greatly affect marine navigation and the
movement of merchant ships in harbors, It also affects the rapid movement of pollutants
into the air from industrial cities to agricultural and residential areas.
The
importance of the research comes from forecasting monthly wind velocity in the
Tartous station and to achieve this goal the data of time series for the monthly wind
velocity at Tartous station in Tartous governorate The methodology of "Box – Jenkins"
been used in the study, this methodology relies on finding future forecasts from original
data series.
Also, the applications “MINITAB, EXCEL” have been used to obtain the results of the
study.
As a result, the study found that wind velocity value in the ' Tartous station' decreasing,
this decline amounted to 0.002 km/h per month during the monitoring period.
Also, the appropriate (SARIMA) model for the series was build after it passed the
various statistical tests are required, and founded that SARIMA(1,0,0)(1,1,1)12 model is a
good representation of the data and the SARIMA(1,0,1)(1,1,0)12 model is the right model
to forecast future monthly wind.
The prophet's bibliography is considered as one of the oldest Islamic literature works.
These works are historically significant for two reasons. On the first hand, they are seen as
manuscripts documenting the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pea
ce is upon him). On
the other hand, they predict for the Arab thought methodology in the outsets of entering the
field of writing and methodological authorship.
This research focuses on the concepts of the prophet's bibliography, the reasons
behind writing it, its resources and its harbingers. Moreover, it studies the content of five
books exploring the writing methodology in them. These books, which are considered as
the first stage of this type of writings, have been chosen in an effort to gain access to the
results that show the authorship methodology in the case of the pioneers. In addition, this
research highlights their role in establishing for writing in other types.
Water erosion is the most serious environmental problem which cause soil
degradation in watershed areas in Syria cost .for this reason, this study aimed to defined
spatial distribution of water erosion risk for land Bhmra Dm basin using corine mode

Corine model depend on calculating all factor that affect water erosion ,soil erosion

Architectural design subject is the backbone of the architectural education
curriculum. Moreover, the outcome of architectural design subject of first year is the base
that will form the students’ architectural thinking and skills in the upper leve
ls.
In this research, the author is attempting to examine architectural design educators'
views (36 teachers) of the First Year on the subjects of design education and the design
process. Since students' views are very important in formulating an educational model of
the design process, the author will also collect some students' views (114 students) from
architecture faculty, where he is employed at the University of Damascus.
The Study reveals several suggestions for improving the design methodology for
architectural design education in general and in first year in specific.
