The aim of the study was mainly to investigate the structure
of the macrobenthic invertebrate communities in Syrian deep
seawater. Few data are available for habitats and benthic fauna in
thissensitive environment, which threaten by fishing practices,
pollutants and climate change.
In the present study,a total of 50 individuals ofsurmulletMullussurmuletuswere
examined forexoparasites infections. The specimens were collected from the Syrian marine
waters (Latakia, Jablah) between 15/10/2014 and 30/10/2015. The skin, mouth cavi
ty,
nostrils and gills of each specimen were examined.
One parasite species belonging to Monogenea,Grubea cochlear was identified for the
first time in the Syrian marine waters and in Mediterranean Sea. This species, memberof
the family Mazocraeidae, was isolated from the gills.
The number of infected fish was 20 fish out of 50 sampled fish; withprevalence of
40% and Intensity of 5 parasite/ Fish.
SST satellite images analysis has provided us a new description of the surface
circulation in the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea. It showed many characteristics
for a lot of mesoscale eddies. In this study, the SST analysis is focalised on
the upwelling
structure showing by images, in the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea, which has an
important biological reflection at the marine environment. We have analyzed images for
different periods to identifier this phenomena's places and this will be help us in situ
nutrient observations.
The Mediterranean Diet is a healthy diet which protects from many
diseases, but many factors could affect the adherence and vary from
country to country. The purpose of this study is to assess the
adherence to Mediterranean Diet of the sample, the
n studying the
economic and social factors and lifestyle which affect the
adherence to Mediterranean diet. The sample was composed of
1000 people (516) women (484) men aged from 18-65 years from
all the economic and social levels, they filled a semi-quantitative
food frequency questionnaire. we used the SPSS program.
A total of 410 Sardinella aurita Fish , were collected from Syrian coast during the
period from April 2014 to March 2015.Total length and weight ranged between 81 – 270
mm, 6.94 –137.29g respectively. The aim of present study was to illustrated som
e aspects
of reproduction biology for Sardinella aurita. .
Gonads Somatic Index (G.S.I.) for female and male recorded highest value in early
June 4.22 and 5.80 respectively. Male and females round sardinella reach first sexual
maturity at total length (17.97 cm and 18.67 cm respectively).
Mean absolute fecundity (FA) increased with body length ( ) and
weight ( ), with an average of 20714.79 ±4876.21 oocytes produced per
spawning female. Relative fecundity (FR) ranged between 242 and 285 oocytes/g of body
weight (average: 266.17 ±21.49 oocytes/g).
The study on the frequency distribution of eggs diameters revealed the presence of
one beak of sardinella aurita. The egg diameters of sardinella aurita ranged between
0.2mm -0.7mm with an average 0.45±0.18 mm.
Pistacia palaestina is one of endemic species woodlands in
mediterraneans areas and Syria , Wich is spreading principally in
Quercus ssp and pinus ssp comminuties. Those communities of
woodlands are suffered by multiple conditions as deforestation
, so
these woodlands are accelerated to developing toward surbland
(maquis).
The "Middle East" is one of the most tense regions of the world, and these tensions linked mainly to the existence of the Zionist entity as an outside intity cruel implanted in the heart of the region, and which seeks to exploit and steal any land a
nd wealth lies in his hands.
And with the discoveries of reserves the vast gas and oil in the levant basin escalated tensions in the region after Israeli efforts to exploit these reserves and stealing these resourses without taking and this led to the outbreak of differences bilateral and multilateral conflicts of interests among the countries in the region which allows Israel to play a key role in these issues, especially the Lebanese – Israeli conflict ,the Turkish – Cyprios case which Israel is third party in such conflicts.
This research focuses the Euro-Mediterranean partnership in terms of the history of
this relation between the Arab and the European sides, and the development of this
relation and the agreement between these parties. It also studies the motivations
of both to
build a partnership between them, the political and security consequences of such
partnership, and the factors that affect it. This research also addresses the US role in this
Arab-European relation, and the future of this partnership in the light of regional and
international changes and under signs of the new world order.
The lithologic and palaeontologic study of the marine Neogene in Salquine
area (NW Of Syria) gave new data which allowed the distinguishing of a
number of lithostratigraphic units and the determination of their ages. This led
to precise lithostrat
igraphic correlations between the studied area and the
neighboring areas, and finally a clear knowledge of the geological evolution of
the area during the Neogene. The stratigraphic distribution of the planktonic
foraminifera in the area showed a perfect agreement with what is known
during the Tethys Neogene. The comparison with the neighboring areas led to
the discovery of an important stratigraphic lacuna in Salquine area during
salinity period of the Upper Miocene of the Mediterranean region.
