A total of 410 Sardinella aurita Fish , were collected from Syrian coast during the period from April 2014 to March 2015.Total length and weight ranged between 81 – 270 mm, 6.94 –137.29g respectively. The aim of present study was to illustrated some aspects of reproduction biology for Sardinella aurita. . Gonads Somatic Index (G.S.I.) for female and male recorded highest value in early June 4.22 and 5.80 respectively. Male and females round sardinella reach first sexual maturity at total length (17.97 cm and 18.67 cm respectively). Mean absolute fecundity (FA) increased with body length ( ) and weight ( ), with an average of 20714.79 ±4876.21 oocytes produced per spawning female. Relative fecundity (FR) ranged between 242 and 285 oocytes/g of body weight (average: 266.17 ±21.49 oocytes/g). The study on the frequency distribution of eggs diameters revealed the presence of one beak of sardinella aurita. The egg diameters of sardinella aurita ranged between 0.2mm -0.7mm with an average 0.45±0.18 mm.

This study has been done on Sparus aurata (Sparidae). Fish samples (297 individuals) were collected along the Syrian Coast from March 2012 to February 2014. Total length (T) was 15 - 31 cm, and the total weight (W) was 53,1 - 410,34 g. The study o f gonado somatic index (GSI) showed that the reproduction period was between November and February with a maturity peak in January (3.98±0.97)% for females ,and in December (2.19±0.29)% for males. In addition, the length at the first sexual maturity was (21.5 cm) and (22.5 cm) for males and females respectively. The results of the hepato somatic index (HSI) was compatible with the surrounding environmental and physiological changes which resulted from the change of sexual activity during the reproductive cycle. Fecundity showed a wide range for a given length, there was a linear relationship between the absolute fecundity and each of length groups and total weight. Relative fecundity was (567896-849362) egg per 1kg body weight. The frequency distribution of eggs diameters revealed the presence of one peak, and the eggs diameter during the reproduction period ranged from 0.05 to 0.3mm.
Through this research, case studies were reviewed which reviewed the dermatology department at Tishreen University Hospital in Lattakia and specialized centers for leishmaniasis and parasitic diseases in Lattakia and Tartous governorates from the beg inning of April 2018 until the end of December 2019. Where Syria is one of the areas endemic with cutaneous leishmaniasis, as we have noticed in recent years the number of skin infections has increased dramatically in all Syrian governorates, which has made leishmaniasis an important health problem that warrants study. In order to isolate and determine the type and strains of the parasite responsible for skin injuries in Syria, in order to develop a plan to combat this disease and limit its spread. Microscopy and transplantation methods are the gold standard for diagnosing cutaneous leishmaniasis, especially in poor areas where this disease is common. Through this study it was found that the age group most exposed to infection is between 16 - 40 years and that the highest incidence was among males. As for the distribution of skin lesions, the highest percentage was recorded on the face, upper and lower extremities.
This study aims to define bird species that use artificial lakes in Syrian coast, and evaluate their population size for management and protection of wildlife. Four different sites were chosen in Syrian coast, which considered the most important ar tificial lakes. Point counts method was used in bird survey in November, December, January, February, March in 2011. 15 waterbird species were recorded belonging to 9 family and 6 order. Wading birds were the main component of waterbird (60% of all species) in Syrian coast. Populations size was 1 to 300 individuals. Diversity of birds and their Populations were greatest in sites which are rich in food ( especially fish). The results showed a difference in composition of bird communities in studied sites.
Two hundred fecal samples were randomly collected from various aged broiler flocks farms, which suffered from diarrhea or respiratory problem or both in Tartous and Latakia Provinces of Syria. This study demonstrated the infection of the broiler flocks with Cryptosporidium in Tartous Province of Syria with a rate of 5.6% only. The results of tests based on morphology and size of Cryptosporidium oocysts showed that the parasite is probably C. baileyi which ranged in size about (6 μm X 4.5 μm).
AlSin Spring spurts at the foot of coastal mountains and pours in The Mediterranean sea near Arab-Almulk village. Presently, spring water used for drinking, irrigation and industry, while excess water goes to sea. Current research aims to determin e the daily discharge response to daily rainfall, and to set an equation for recession discharge for predicting spring discharge and volumes of flow after definite time from the beginning of spring base flow, which allows to operate and manipulate available water resources through an optimum design of water intake from this spring. Response time of AlSin Spring between (3-5) days for average discrete daily rainfall with high intensity which caused 0.5 ~ 1.0 m3/sec increasing in spring discharge value. Yearly discharge trends to decrease with a rate of 0.0975 m3/sec between 1974 and 2016 years. While the monthly minimum discharges increase about 0.1284 m3/sec, and monthly maximums decrease about 0.0752 m3/sec between 1994 and 2016. We recommend adopting recession curve analysis to predict the optimal discharge of springs within definite periods.
