The aim of this research is to determine the role of mineral (NPK) and organic fertilization (Chicken manure, Cow manure and Chicken with Cow manure) on vegetative growth and flowering of Zinnia (Zinnia elegans). This research also examines the possi bility of relying on this organic manure to present nutrients for the plant in order to reduce mineral fertilization. The results show that the use of NPK (30, 20, 20 g/m2) or Chicken manure (2Kg/m2) has a positive impact on vegetative growth (plant height and average number of branches andleaves on the plant). They also show a positive effect on the flower developmentand flowering (early flowering, number of flowers and flower volume). These positive effects are reflected on the proportion of dry matter both in the vegetative and flowering part. The results indicate that plants fertilized with NPK or Chicken manure realize higher economic profit than the control and those fertilized with Cow manure.
The aimsof this research were to morphologically characterize 27 local genotypes of tulip,to evaluate the genetic variability between them using 32 morphological traits, and to determine their chromosomal number. The results allowed the distinctio n between the studied genotypes based on the morphological characterization of all vegetative, floral andbulb traits. Results confirmed that the main limiting factor for distribution over the screened regionwas the high above sea level. All genotypes were divided into two main groups, the firstone included genotypes located at 400 - 850 m of altitude, and the second one located between 950 -1450 m. The microscopic analysis results showed that all the studied genotypes were diploid (2n=2x=24 chromosomes). Depending on the results of the morphological characterization and the chromosomal number of local genotypes studied, it can be considered the closest to the specie Tulipaagenensis D.C.
The aim of this research is to determine the best date and culture medium for the production of big rolls consisting of seed mixture (Lolium perenne, Festuca Arundinacea, Festuca rubra, Poa partensis) with the lowest costs. Seven different mediums were experimented in two different culture dates (15 September and 1 April). The results showed that the mediums consisting of turf or spent mushrooms compost gave the best germination rate (78-84%) in the two culture dates. They also gave ready big rolls in a period of time less than in the other mediums (78-102 days). The mediums also gave the best quality of big rolls in terms of light weight (41.96- 53.89 kg/m2), coverage rate (93-98%), and color. The medium that consisted of spent mushroom compost achieved an economic increase higher than that in the other mediums, where the coefficient of profitability in the former was (194.4%).
Ornamental plants considered one of the modern plantation, which should be introduced in the future agricultural development plan confirmed by field studies for the most important ornamental seed plants as a samples for data collections. Through i nformation and field data it can be concluded that, most of nursery's of ornamental plants were in a small size (less than 2.5 hectare) in comparison with some other propagated plants due to the absence of specialization. We observed a shortage in a propagated plant materials especially cut-flowers which considered the most important product. This research observed also many problems facing the producers leading to high production cost: preliminary materials, agriculture and propagation materials, expert workers beside obstacles in exporting and absence in observation and governmental help.
The aim of this research was to determined the role of humic acid (HA) and organic fertilization (poultrey with cattle manure) on vegetative growth, flowering and cormels production of Gladiolus (Gladiolus hybrida). Also investigating the ablity of this organic manure to provide nutrients for the plant in order to reduce the mineral fertilization. Humax (50% humic acid) was used, and three applications of HA applied at 2 leaf, 2 and 4 leaf, and 2, 4 and 6 leaf stages of plant development. The results showed that the use of humic acid had a positive impact on vegetative growth (plant height and average number of leaves on the plant) it also showed a positive effect on the formation of Spikes and flowering (early flowering, spike length, number of flowers on spike). The positive effects were reflected on the proportion of dry matter in the vegetative part. The results indicated that plants sprayed with humic acid in presence of Chicken manure produced higher cormels yield and economic profit than the control and those fertilized with Cow manure. . Data also, Showed that T4 treatment (plants sprayed 3 times) realized higher economic profit than authors treatment (112,66%).
The present investigation was carried out at the nursery of Agricultural faculty- Tishreen University, during 2016-2017, to evaluate the best organic culture medium for the seedling production of Zinnia (Zinnia elegans) and Stock (Matthiolaincana) with the lowest costs. Seven different mediums were experimented (Turf, waste mushroom compost, farm waste compost and their combinations). The results showed some differences in chemical and physical characters of experimented mediums. This differences had an impact on germination parameters (seed germination percentage, speed of germination, daily germination) and seedling quality (seedling length, collar diameter, fresh and dray weight, percentage of dray matter). The results indicated the mediums consisting of turf (T1), waste mushroom compost with turf (T6) and waste mushroom compost with farm waste compost (T7) gave the best germination rate and the highest quality of seedling. Data showed as well that T3 and T7 treatments realized the lowest costs and higher economic profit than other treatments.
