The aim of this research is to determine the role of mineral (NPK) and organic fertilization (Chicken manure, Cow manure and Chicken with Cow manure) on vegetative growth and flowering of Zinnia (Zinnia elegans). This research also examines the possibility of relying on this organic manure to present nutrients for the plant in order to reduce mineral fertilization. The results show that the use of NPK (30, 20, 20 g/m2) or Chicken manure (2Kg/m2) has a positive impact on vegetative growth (plant height and average number of branches andleaves on the plant). They also show a positive effect on the flower developmentand flowering (early flowering, number of flowers and flower volume). These positive effects are reflected on the proportion of dry matter both in the vegetative and flowering part. The results indicate that plants fertilized with NPK or Chicken manure realize higher economic profit than the control and those fertilized with Cow manure.

The present investigation was carried out at the nursery of Agricultural faculty- Tishreen University, during 2016-2017, to evaluate the best organic culture medium for the seedling production of Zinnia (Zinnia elegans) and Stock (Matthiolaincana) with the lowest costs. Seven different mediums were experimented (Turf, waste mushroom compost, farm waste compost and their combinations). The results showed some differences in chemical and physical characters of experimented mediums. This differences had an impact on germination parameters (seed germination percentage, speed of germination, daily germination) and seedling quality (seedling length, collar diameter, fresh and dray weight, percentage of dray matter). The results indicated the mediums consisting of turf (T1), waste mushroom compost with turf (T6) and waste mushroom compost with farm waste compost (T7) gave the best germination rate and the highest quality of seedling. Data showed as well that T3 and T7 treatments realized the lowest costs and higher economic profit than other treatments.
The aim of this research is to determine the role of mineral (N.P.K) and organic fertilization ( Poultry manure, Cattle manure and Poultry with Cattle manure ) on vegetative growth and flowering of Gladiolus ( Gladiolus hybrida) and Zinnia ( zinnia e legans)
This study was conducted at the vegetable field of department of horticulture and landscape design, college of agriculture and forestry ,Mosul university, during spring of 2007 and 2008, to study the effect of times and levels of nitrogen fertiliz ation on some characters vegetative growth, flowering ,and yield of summer squash .Result indicated that, the time of nitrogen fertilization at the stage of fruit-set caused a significant increased in the leaf number /plant ,length of the plant and the fresh weight/plant. While the time of nitrogen fertilization wasn't affected significantly the total yield. The level at 320 kg.N/ha caused a significant increase of the characters vegetative growth and total yield. Also result revealed that, the interaction between the stage at fruit set and nitrogen fertilization at 320 kg.N/ha led to increase the total yield .The yield was found to positively correlation with the plant length ,fresh and dry weights of plant, leaf area, fruit weight, male and female flowers, and the sex ratio.
The research experiment was carried out during the 2007, 2008 and 2009, seasons on grape variety Al- Helawani (10 years old) to study the effect of N.P.K. fertilization rates and the triple superphosphate (T.S.P) application method on some fruits characters and growth indicators. Three fertilization N.P.K rates were used, rate 1 (75:25:50) kg/ ha, twofold and fourfold of rate 1, in three replicates in addition to control. The application of (T.S.P) was on soil surface and at 30 cm depth, the percent of leaf area, shoot length, the degree of berry colour, berry firmness were calculated. The results showed a significant increase of leaf area, shoot length and the Berry colour compared to control. The third rate was the best for increasing the leaf area and shoot length, while the first and second rates were increased the colour of Berry. At the same time, there was a gradual significant decrease in Berry firmness compared to control when the rate of fertilizer was increased. It was also noted a significant increase in leaf area (11%) and shoot length (4.5%) in deep T.S.P application compared to the surface application.
