Sixty yeasts spp. were isolated from samples of whey which collected from
different locations in Syria. These yeasts were classified morphologically
according to Barnett’s and physiologically by API technique to identify the
species of Yeasts, whe
re had found 10 classified yeasts as follows:
Candida krusei is the most of yeasts which founded in whey with 21.66 %,
and in the Second rank is Candida lusitaniae with 16.66 %. the third rank came
(Geotrichum capitatum, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Rhodotorula minuta) with
11.66%, after that the Candida magnolia is ranked in the fourth rank by
distributing with 8.33%. as soon as the Candida famata came in the fifth rank
with 6.66%, and in the sixth rank we founded Candida lipolytica with 5%,
finally the Rhodotorula. mucilaginosa and Candida. kefyr came in the last rank
with 3.33%, so we noticed the variety of the yeasts in the studied locations in
Syria.
Lead levels were determined in 52 baby food samples dedicated to feeding
children from birth until the age of 12 months. These samples were consisting
of dried cow's milk, rice, wheat, cereal, fruits in addition to samples of human
milk. Samples w
ere exposed to welt digestions and lead level was determined
using graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometer, and results were
compared with the certified reference samples. Results indicated that that
different levels of leads were determined in the samples studied and it was in
the lowest concentration (5.72 μg/kg diet) in canned fruits and in the highest
concentration (121.35 μg/kg) in cereal samples ranged. Other interface levels of
leads were found in the other baby food and reached 20.41μg/L in human milk,
84.32 μg/kg of cow´s milk provided from for 0 to 6 months of age, 98.15 μg/kg
of cow´s milk provided at age 6 to 12 months, and 92.62, 99.94 μg/kg in
formulas containing rice and wheat, respectively. While formulas based on
cereal had the biggest.
The aim of this study is to investigate the role of parents in monitoring and guiding
their children while using the media of violentsubstance, specifically movies, television
and computer games, as well as their role in supplying children with ski
lls to deal with the
media in order to understand the media material that surrounds them, to well-selectand
handle, and to effectivelyparticipate in order to reach a future plan which included
developing the capabilities and skills of parents in dealing with children and guide their
behavior in the media to protect them from the risk of media content.To achieve this
purpose,a questionnaire was designed to students aged between 13 and 14 years and the
study sample consisted of 40 male and female students from the elementary school in the
village of Kessabeen and a school in the Arab Almelk subsidiaries of the city of Jableh.
The respondents were requested to answer a number of questions that determined the
formatrepresented by the degree of consumption of the media with violent scenes, taking
into account the family environment around them.
Results of the study showed the importance of the role of parents in media education
for their childrenand also emphasized the importance of the educational level of the parents
in organizing and disciplining the child's behavior with media in order to develop methods
of critical thinking and strengthen learning skills in research and analysis of all that is
displayed through the media. The study results through a set of recommendations and
proposals that could be considered helpful to the people in the upbringing of their children
and the media, which could also contribute to access to the strong relationship between
parents and children.
A total of 370 bottles of noncarbonated natural mineral water (domestic and
imported) with different bottling dates, were collected directly from the
markets in Syria one word one year 2006.
Bacterial diversity was approached with tentative
identification of the strains isolated using biochemical and enzymatic criteria
(with the aid of API 20 NE identification system for nonfermenters).
