This research includes evaluating the work of maintenance of themachines through their own key performance indicators (KPI), and approved byindustrial and service companies, We mention reliability, readiness ,average time between failures, average Repair time ,average time of periodic maintenance of their production and serviceequipment. After the data processing of emergency failures and periodic maintenanceof machines , we extracted values for maintenance performanceindicators, we measured their performance and correlation to evaluateits compatibility with global indicators. The research aim to assess the current situation through the use ofquantitative methods pattern which is used to access the values of theprevious mentioned performance indicators and their interdependence tobe used in support of maintenance decisionsin the container terminal later. We noticed a strong inverse association between periodic maintenance TPMtime and breakdown TBD, and reached a value rERS = -0.99, and thereforewe must focus on increasing periodic maintenance to reduce breakdowntime, and replace parts that cause recurringproblems which caused about intensive breakdowns, thus reducing periodicmaintenance time. Also we were able to classify the quality of maintenance and machinesthrough the readiness and reliability indicators and the mean timebetween failures.

School buildings in Syria suffer of the high cost of maintenance works. In addition, there is no fear methodology to organize the maintenance process and evaluate the performance of these buildings. This research aims to develop a system for evalu ating the performance of school buildings in the city of Tartous, in order to be used in the maintenance policy for these buildings and other buildings in other regions. The evaluating process is executed by calculating a performance indicator, which defines the state of the building depending on three sub-indicators: functional, technical and healthiness indicator. Maintenance manual and evaluating lists were developed to evaluate the components of school building. In addition, many questionnaires were set to determine the relative importance for each component of school building. The improved model was used to calculate the performance indicators for several schools. As a result, most of these schools were in a moderate situation. Also, the results clarify that some components have law state comparing to other ones and we should focus on them in organized maintenance processes.
Economic growth and high competition have put a strong pressure on construction companies to improve their productivity and performance. Many studies on performance measurement have been carried out at the project level. Recently, the demand for perf ormance evaluation at the company level has increased. This paper aims to identify a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). A List of 20 potential performance indicators has been identified according to Balance Score Card (BSC) through a quantitative and qualitative analysis. We have obtained the required information about the relative importance of the indicators through interviews with six experts in the construction industry to determine the size of the relative importance of each indicator, on the grounds that a large number of performance indicators are difficult to measure and control. We have adopted the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to identify fewer and more effective performance indicators. And we have used Expert Choice software to analyze expert answers. As a result, we have obtained 9 important indicators which can be directly used as indicators to measure and identify performance projects or as indicators within an integrated system, for performance measurement and tracking helps in improving the performance of construction projects in Syria.
A comprehensive literature review was carried out in order to identify potential factors that have an influence on project performance. Based on this review, a formal questionnaire survey was developed and sent to a carefully selected focus group of construction experts from within the Syrian construction industry.
This study aims to evaluate and compare the financial performance of the Jordanian Islamic and conventional banks using the five financial indicators of the "CAMEL" method represented by: Capital Adequacy index, Asset Quality index, Management Qua lity index, Profitability index, and the Liquidity index. This comparison will detect which of the two banks Islamic or Conventional achieves a better performance than the other. In order to study the reflection of financial performance on customers at the level of public trust, and to achieve these purposes, we select a total of thirteen Jordanian Conventional banks and two Islamic banks as a sample for this study during the period of (2006-2012). We employ a test “t-test” to study the significance of the differences between the averages of financial ratios and the use of multiple linear regression analysis to show the impact of financial performance indicators individually and collectively on the level of public trust. The result of this study clearly shows that Conventional banking achieves a better financial performance than Islamic banking, although the level of public trust of customers in Islamic banking stems mainly from its achieved financial performance, contrary to what has been obtained during this study for Conventional banking.
