A comprehensive literature review was carried out in order to identify potential factors that have an influence on project performance. Based on this review, a formal questionnaire survey was developed and sent to a carefully selected focus group of construction experts from within the Syrian construction industry.

Economic growth and high competition have put a strong pressure on construction companies to improve their productivity and performance. Many studies on performance measurement have been carried out at the project level. Recently, the demand for perf ormance evaluation at the company level has increased. This paper aims to identify a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). A List of 20 potential performance indicators has been identified according to Balance Score Card (BSC) through a quantitative and qualitative analysis. We have obtained the required information about the relative importance of the indicators through interviews with six experts in the construction industry to determine the size of the relative importance of each indicator, on the grounds that a large number of performance indicators are difficult to measure and control. We have adopted the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to identify fewer and more effective performance indicators. And we have used Expert Choice software to analyze expert answers. As a result, we have obtained 9 important indicators which can be directly used as indicators to measure and identify performance projects or as indicators within an integrated system, for performance measurement and tracking helps in improving the performance of construction projects in Syria.
This research includes evaluating the work of maintenance of themachines through their own key performance indicators (KPI), and approved byindustrial and service companies, We mention reliability, readiness ,average time between failures, average Repair time ,average time of periodic maintenance of their production and serviceequipment. After the data processing of emergency failures and periodic maintenanceof machines , we extracted values for maintenance performanceindicators, we measured their performance and correlation to evaluateits compatibility with global indicators. The research aim to assess the current situation through the use ofquantitative methods pattern which is used to access the values of theprevious mentioned performance indicators and their interdependence tobe used in support of maintenance decisionsin the container terminal later. We noticed a strong inverse association between periodic maintenance TPMtime and breakdown TBD, and reached a value rERS = -0.99, and thereforewe must focus on increasing periodic maintenance to reduce breakdowntime, and replace parts that cause recurringproblems which caused about intensive breakdowns, thus reducing periodicmaintenance time. Also we were able to classify the quality of maintenance and machinesthrough the readiness and reliability indicators and the mean timebetween failures.
The research presents a study and evaluation of the current situation of the Commercial Bank of Syria and the mechanism for implementation of its operations and goals to be achieved, through Balanced Scorecard also provides an explanation of the c oncept of Balanced Scorecard in terms of its dependence on four aspects are (financial - customers - internal processes- learning and growth). The study reached the following conclusions: that the bank has succeeded in achieving its objectives in profitability and security of banking, but it did not succeed in satisfying customers, in achieving the goal of improving internal operations, and it did not succeed in achieving learning and innovation in procedures and staff . The research was presented a set of recommendations including: Adoption of the concept of Balanced Scorecard in performance measurement and deepen his understanding of the culture of the bank, the need to focus attention to customers and their proposals and to achieve satisfaction, the need for attention to improving the quality of banking operations and provide services without errors as soon as possible, and to focus attention to human resources at the bank and enable work to increase the degree of employee satisfaction and improve productivity.
In this PAPER, we perform a study and extensive comparative between the well-known link quality estimators and CTP, a tree-based routing protocol provided by TinyOS for different network topology and simulate it using TOSSIM simulator to evaluate the performance of these estimators.
Construction projects are subject to risks and uncertainties which affect project targets (cost, time, quality and safety). This paper reviews risks and their effects on construction projects in Syria, and it aims to develop risk management framew ork. In this work, risks in construction projects have been defined based on the literature review and interviews of some experts in the construction field. A questionnaire was designed to define the probability of risk occurrence and their effects, also to define the level of their effects by multiplying the probability occurrence with the effects. Another questionnaire was designed to define the extent of the effects of the most important risks on each target of the project, and to specify the procedures applied as a response to the risks. The results of this research revealed that "the Inflation, price changes" and "the difference between contracted quantities and actual quantities " are seen as the most important risk, where the studied risks in this work affect the schedule more than any other project targets. Also the results showed that avoiding the risks at the construction stage is the most used action.
