Fifty clones of local seeded apricot (Klabi). Prunus armeniaca L. were classified AL-Goutta orchard during ١٩٩٦–٢٠٠٠ . These clones were analyzed in terms of physical and chemical characteristics with the objective of selecting individual clones (For dried apricot sheets) that meet the standard specifications.

Some magnetic and physical properties ( magnetic susceptibility , intensity of remanent magnetisation , ac current electrical conductivity and density ) of ١٨١ samples from ٣٠ sites of Middle Miocene basaltic rocks (β 1 N2) from Al- Kisweh region south of Damascus were studied, in order to extend the previous study ( Abou-Deeb, ١٩٩٧) to other regions so that these properties might be used as characteristic factors in discriminating the neighbouring basaltic flows .The measurement of the in situ magnetic susceptibility of ٧٥ basaltic sites , distributed on ٨ localities , in the region helped to calculate the mean value of the magnetic susceptibility of each locality and an overall mean value of the whole region, which might be used in any magnetic interpretation of the magnetic anomalies. Also, the density of ١٢٨ samples were measured and a mean value of the density of each locality and an overall mean density were calculated in order to be used in any future interpretation of any gravity anomaly in the region .
Terebinth trees have been occupying a good part of the mount of Syrian (abed elaziz, pelass). The Pistacia atlantica fruit, rich in oil, is used by local inhabitants in many ways, few studies investigation of the P. atlantica fruit oil of Syria ha s been carried out,This study investigates the protein, ash, crude oil and oil composition of P. atlantica with respect to total phenol, iodine value and saponification value, in order to classify it among the other known edible oils thenafter compare the oil composition with the oils of other Pistacia species. The fruit of P.atlantica appears to be rich in oil. The major fatty acid in the sample studied are oleic, linoleic, our results show that. The oil has a higher content of unsaturated FA (oleic + linoleic = 72%). The oil can be classified as an oleo-linoleic vegetable oil. The biochemical data showed an elevated MUFA content (50-48%) which may constitute an important property against certain pathologies for its nutritional and preventive virtues.
٤٨ genotypes of Juglans regia L. were Studies in Damascus Gutta. They were divided to three groups A,B, and C. Three genotypes were selected from there groups. The selection were on genotype B٤, The percentage of kernel in these genotypes Contain the Highest percentage ٦٣,٨٧٪. The qualities of the genotypes were fruits ٥,١٩ length, and ٤,٦ cm width.
This study was carried out on soil samples collected from Damascus country side (Alghota – Jesrin), in order to study the impact of organochlorine insecticides resulted from heavy use for a long time. The duration of experiment was ١١ monthes cove ring four season condition. Samples were taken from two levels, the surface (١٠ cm) and the deep levels (٣٠-٤٥ cm). Soil samples were extracted by acetone, hexane and chloroform solvents. Residues were detected by using GC.
Carob pod is the fruit of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua L.). The fruit and its products, sold both in large stores and local markets, contribute strongly to the diet of people living in the Mediterranean areas of Europe. This study reports th e composition of carob pods sampled in Homs, Hama and Coast Regions
