This research was carried out through the 201-2011 and 201-/2012 seasons
on 26-year-old trees of AL– Ashouri Pistachio cultivar grown in clay soil, in a
private orchard in Souran region (Hama province). Four types of organic green
fertilizers (Len
tils, Vetch, equal mixture from Lentils and Vetch and mix of
these legumes with barley), in addition to the control, to study their effects on
some quantitative and qualitative characteristics of pistachio nut. Results
showed that the use of green fertilizers caused significant increase in studied
indicators and the best treatment was mix of legumes with barley (45% Lentils,
45% vetch, 10% Barley), which achieved the highest significant values، where
average of weight of the 100 nuts was 107.45 g during the two seasons, the
average of weight of the 100 kernel was 67.08 g, average of length of shell was
20.85mm and an annual yield was 32 kg/ tree, compared with control, which
achieved 87.50g, 40.25g, 18.08 mm and 16.75 kg, respectively.
This research was conducted at the Agriculture Faculty, Damascus
university to determine some factors affecting rooting of some grape rootstocks
(B41, Ru140, SO4) by hardwood cutting during two subsequent seasons. The
results showed that Rooting p
ercentage ranged between 50 to 65%. with
significant differences between tested rootstocks. The highest rooting
percentage was obtained on B41 rootstock reached 65.47% followed by SO4
and then by Ru140 which gave the lowest percentage 50.44%. The treatment
with hormone IBA increased rooting proportion and all the parameters
(number and length of root, number of leaves and shoot length) were
significantly higher than parallel parameters of the control. The storage of
cuttings at 4°C for 50 days increased significantly proportion of rooting and
number of roots compared with the storage under field condition. There were
significant differences among dates of planting where the third date (mid
February) showed superiority in all parameters studied over other dates. The
cuttings from basal and middle of annual growth gave a significant superiority
in the average root length (5.26–4.32 cm, successively) compared to the
terminal cuttings while there was no significant effect to the cuttings position on
rooting proportion.
This study was carried out on three rootstocks of Crataegus monogyna Jacq.
With one seed containing fruit C.oxycantha L. with three seeds as well as C.
azaraolus Borkh, to identify the best method of Crataegus propagation.
The hardwood cuttings of
C.azarolus Borkh rooted in a IBA solution (4ooo
ppm)showed the highest rooting percentage 20% when grown in sand as well as
peat moss containing fermented arganic manure media.
٤٨ genotypes of Juglans regia L. were Studies in Damascus Gutta. They
were divided to three groups A,B, and C. Three genotypes were selected from
there groups. The selection were on genotype B٤, The percentage of kernel in
these genotypes Contain
the Highest percentage ٦٣,٨٧٪. The qualities of the
genotypes were fruits ٥,١٩ length, and ٤,٦ cm width.
Fifty clones of local seeded apricot (Klabi). Prunus armeniaca L. were
classified AL-Goutta orchard during ١٩٩٦–٢٠٠٠ . These clones were analyzed
in terms of physical and chemical characteristics with the objective of selecting
individual clones (
For dried apricot sheets) that meet the standard
specifications.
The research studied the compatibility of grafting on the pistachio
variety of Nab AL Jamal with three rootstocks (P. vera, P.
Atlantica and P. Khinjuk). This research was implemented in the
nursery of the agricultural department in Hama. The seed
ling
rootstocks were budded in plastic bags at the beginning of June by
T-budding.
