يمكن أن تقدِّم فيه علوم الاجتماع قاعدة مرجعية يمكن اعتمادها لبناء سياسات أكثـر ارتباطـاً
بالواقع. و ليست الغاية هنا تحويل المهندسين و المخططين إلى علماء اجتماع بقدر مـا تسـعى
لفتح قنوات اتصال بين الجانبين على نحوٍ يمكن القائمين على التخطـيط مـن إدارة عملهـم
التصميمي في إطار و منظور أوسع. حيث تؤكد الورقة على تميز الأوضاع الاجتماعيـة فـي
البيئة المحلية و تستقرئ أهم المجالات التي يمكن للبحوث في العلـوم الإنسـانية أن تتـرجَم
ضمنها إلى مدخلات في العملية التصميمية على اختلاف دوائرها.
