The study seeks to identify the prevailing methods of thinking among the mentally talented students in the light of their achievement rates and gender. The sample of the research was chosen intentionally. It consists of second secondary grade studen ts from "Top Students Secondary School". The study used the analytic, descriptive method, as well as the Sternberg & Wagner's list of methods of thinking, which was translated by Mr. Abu Hashem. The study showed that the most common methods of thinking for mentally talented students were legislative thinking, and liberal hierarchical thinking. The least common, on the other hand, were conservative thinking, global thinking and executive thinking. The study showed that the relationship between students' scores on certain thinking methods and their achievement rates was very weak. These methods are: legislative, executive, global, local, liberal, conservative, monarchic and anarchic. It was also found out that there was a weak relationship between students' scores on some other thinking methods and their achievement rates. These methods are: judicial methods and minority method. There is a moderate relationship regarding the hierarchical and external thinking. As the study showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the mentally talented male students and students excelling mentally in the following methods of thinking: global, conservative, hierarchical, monarchic, internal and external. This was in favor of males regarding internal thinking, and in favor of females regarding global, conservative, monarchic, hierarchical and external thinking.
The effect of teaching by using the Learning Program according to Marzano’s Dimensions Of Learning Model in growing the metacognition thinking for first secondary students school in Lattakia. The sample of the research was chosen intentionally , it composedof (58) male and female students, and it follows the curriculum in terms of quasiexperimental sample divided into two groups: (experimental 29 students), and the control group 29 students).And the study used the Learning Program according to Marzano’s Dimensions Of Learning Model for students in first grade secondary school, and Test for metacognition thinking .The study showed that:there was a statistically significant mean score difference between experimental and control groups according to Test for metacognition thinking as a result of the post, so this difference is due to the the metacognition according to Marzano’s Dimensions Of Learning Model, which due to the teaching in this method has contributed to increase the level of students' metacognition thinking better than the traditional way. And the study didn’t show a statistically significant mean score difference between the mean scores of students of the experimental group (male and female) in the post to test metacognition thinking, and it may be due to the fact that student who learn in a metacognition was an active partner in educational situation, he or she is the tempter, liquid and good listener, all that helped in the development of his metacognition thinking skills, whether male or female.
The study aimed to identify the degree of contribution to the national education teachers in educating students with challenges of globalization in the cultural dimension ( cultural , ethical , Media ) . The researcher used the descriptive analytica l method was conducted among a sample consisted of (49 ), a teacher and a school in secondary schools in the city of Damascus was pulled randomly. The existence of a generally low degree in English teachers in the degree of exercise of the skills of scientific thinking in their classrooms, and the degree of practice of English teachers of the skills of scientific thinking subsidiary was as follows: - A high degree of teachers in the exercise of the skill of scientific thinking related to (gathering information). - A medium degree for teachers in the exercise of scientific thinking skills related to (concentration - memory - organization - analysis). - Low degree of teachers in the exercise of scientific thinking skills related to (obstetrics). - Very low degree of teachers in the exercise of scientific thinking skills related to (evaluation - integration). 2 - There are no statistically significant differences in the average grade of English teachers in the degree of practicing the skills of scientific thinking in their classes according to the gender variable. 3- There are statistically significant differences in the average grade of English teachers in the exercise of scientific thinking skills on the total score of the scale and its sub-fields according to the variable number of years of teaching experience for teachers with higher teaching experience except for the following fields (concentration skill / information gathering / analysis / integration / Evaluation), where differences were not statistically significant.
