The purpose of this study is to Measure Syrian privet banks commitment to the International corporate governance principles which involve the principles of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the principles of Basel Committee for banking supervision, and that is according to the opinions of the investors, employees, auditors and regulators as stakeholders in these banks through preparing a questionnaire which had been refined and verified of its credibility. The study concluded two main results, which are that Syrian privet Banks are not committed to the international principles of corporate governance whether OECD or the Basel Committee Principles. This means that the commitment to these principles is merely a legal obligation inform that does not not affect in results the members of the sample. Finally the study came up with a number of Recommendations, that can lead to improve the reality corporate governance practices of the private banks in Syria.
The research aims to analyse the key issue relating to the management of credit risk in Islamic Banks through the analysis of risk management in the Islamic Bank, the types and formats of Islamic finance risks, the methods used to address those risks and challenges faced by Islamic banks. The problem with the research terms seems that credit activity is one of the most single important key functions offered by the banks, one of the activities profitable and most dangerous, where credit risk arises as a result of the inability of the debtors to meet their obligations in the dates of maturity, and the consequent loss incurred by the bank, and therefore. It is based on the premise of basic research related to the analysis of credit risk management in Islamic banks, to maintain low levels of credit risk. The study concludes that the risk of Islamic modes of financing in the forefront of the risks faced by Islamic banks, so that the activation of the role of risk management in Islamic banks to enable them to understand and identify, measure and address the various risks, and minimize possible.
Credit risk management is one of the important topics in the banking sector and it is considered As an essential and decisive and proactive factor to reduce losses and earn an acceptable level of return to its shareholders. The objective of researc h to study the impact of credit risk management on the rate of return on equity in private banks in Syria and the nature of this effect. To achieve the goal of the search a Convenience sample was selected from private banks in Syria for which financial reports and risk management reports were available. The search results showed There is no statistically significant relationship between credit risk management and rate of return on equity in private banks in Syria in that time period At a significant level of 5% . but there is a statistically significant relationship between credit risk management and return on equity if the hypothesis is tested at a significant level of 10%. The results also showed a statistically significant relationship between the rate of non-performing loans and the rate of return on equity , And The capital adequacy ratio negatively affects the rate of return on equity.
The research aims at studying the extent of commercial banks' commitment to the dimensions of social responsibility (legal, economic, moral, humanitarian). The research adopted a descriptive approach, Also the research community included all worker s in the public and private commercial banks in the governate of Latakia, and of approximately (671) workers. The sample size was determined based on the statistical sample law, which has reached (244) workers and it has been distributed using the proportional distribution between public and private banks. The questionnaires were distributed to the employees, and (230) questionnaire were returned with a response rate (94.26%). Using statistical methods the results were as the following: *Commercial banks in the governate of Latakia are highly committed to dimensions of social responsibility, legal, economic, moral. The relative importance of the moral dimension is(71.88%), (77.68%) for the economic dimension, and (74.04%) for the moral dimension. *Commercial banks in Latakia governate is moderately committed to the humanitarian dimension of responsibility with the relative importance of (57.92%). *Public and private commercial banks do not differ in the degree of commitment to the dimensions of social responsibility: legal, economic, moral, and humanitarian.
