IOT sensors use the publish/subscribe model for communication to benefit from its
decoupled nature with respect to space, time, and synchronization. Because of the
heterogeneity of communicating parties, semantic decoupling is added as a fourth
di
mension. The added semantic decoupling complicates the matching process and reduces
its efficiency. The proposed algorithm clusters subscriptions and events according to topic
and performs the matching process within these clusters, which increases the throughput
by reducing the matching time . Moreover, the accuracy of matching is improved when
subscriptions must be fully approximated . This work shows the benefit of clustering, as
well as the improvement in the matching accuracy and efficiency achieved using this
approach.
Publish/subscribe (pub/sub) is a popular communication paradigm in the design of largescale
distributed systems. We are witnessing an increasingly widespread use of pub/sub
networks for a wide array of applications in industry , academia , financia
l data
dissemination , business process management and does not end in social networking sites
which takes a large area of user interests and used network baseband .
Social network interactions have grown exponentially in recent years to the order of
billions of notifications generated by millions of users every day. So It has become very
important to access in the field of publishing and subscription networks, especially peerto-
peer (P2P) networks that used at first the Scribe data routing protocol. Since then, many
developments and improvements have been made to create new designs. One of these
designs is the Polder Cast protocol.
The research studies most used protocols performance to assess the effectiveness of each in
terms of the speed of the publication and subscription of topic , required resources and
distribution of load .
Publish/Subscribe Systems become increasingly important, mainly because they
provide a full decoupling between the publishers and the subscribers, with respect to space,
time, and synchronization. This research presents an overview of publish/subsc
ribe
systems and epidemic algorithms (especially the directed ones), and studies the
performance of directed epidemic algorithms used to ensure the reliability of
publish/subscribe systems. Adopting Scribe system and simulation using OMNET++, the
paper evaluates different directed epidemic algorithms by considering many factors:
targeted range width, number of rounds, number of nodes, and packet loss rate, on each of:
the reliability, overhead, and mean latency.
This research studied the tools of the promotional mix and their role in attracting
banks’ customers. The research was conducted on a sample of 210 customers of private
and public banks in the coastal area of Syria. Descriptive statics were used to
test the
hypothesis and to describe the relationship between variables. The SPSS program was used
and some descriptive statistic models were utilized (frequencies، different correlation
coefficients)
The research found the following results:
1- There is a statistically significant influence between the role of the promotional
mix’s tools and attracting banks’ customers.
2- There is a statistically significant influence between advertising, public relations
and publicity, sales promotion, personal selling, internet and interactive marketing and
attracting banks’ customers
3- There is a no statically significant influence between direct marketing and
attracting banks’ customers
4- Most of the studied customers believed that the promotional activities done by the
banks have a big role in maintaining banks’ name in the market.
The reseearch studied institutional advertising and its effect on clients’ satisfaction.
The research gave suggestions to the Syrian banks that help banks choose the most
effective type of institutional advertising in order to reach a high level of
clients’
satisfaction. Descriptive statics were used to test the hypothesis and to describe the
relationship between variables. Previous studies in this field were reviewed. Primary data
were collected through conducting a questionnaire on a sample of (210) clients of private
and public banks. The questionnaire was to measure both the dependent variable (clients’
satisfaction), and the independent variable (institutional advertising).
The research found the following results:
1- There is a statistically significant influence between institutional advertising and
clients’ satisfaction.
2- Institutional advertising accounts only to (43.7%) of the changes in the clients’
satisfaction.
3- There is a statistically significant influence of the type of institutional advertising
used on clients’ satisfaction.
5- Institutional advertising that supports a cause has the most significant influence on the
satisfaction of banks’ clients, followed by institutional advertising that promotes a
positive image of the bank.
