Parotidectomy is a common surgical procedure associated with some complications as well as facial asymmetry.Frey syndrome is a common complication after protidectomy and characterized by a sweating and a flushing and/or an erythema of the cheek area during mastication leading to very disturbing to the patient. Autologous fat transfer is an easy technique, widely used in cosmetic surgery to reconstruct the defect caused after various excisional surgeries as well as preventing or treatment frey syndrome. The aim of this study is to assist the results of autologous fat transfer to parotid area (after parotidectomy) in treatment frey syndrome in addition to improving the aesthetic aspects.

Objectives: to analyse the incidence of facial nerve dysfunction following parotidectomy and to correlate this with the extent of parotid gland resection, and the pathological diagnosis. Between 2010 – 2014, 35 patients underwent 35 parotidectomie s performed by the same surgeon. Results: the incidence of initial postoperative facial weakness was 37,14%, based on the diagnosis and extent of surgery, rates of facial weakness were 23,1%, 30,8% and 46,1% for superficial parotidectomy, total parotidectomy and total parotidectomy associated with a neck dissection respectively. Permanent weakness occurred in 7,7% of patients, recovery of normal facial movements occurred within 6 months in all patients with initial temporary facial weakness.
Tuberculosis is still a worldwide disease. Medical treatment is essential but surgery still has a role in the diagnosis and treatment of several various thoracic tuberculous lesions (both pulmonary and extra-pulmonary). We aim to present and analy zethe results of surgical treatment of thoracic tuberculous cases in Al-Assad University Hospital in Damascus. Also, we purpose to determine the indications of thoracoscopic and traditional surgical interventions in this field, and studying their complications.

While the field of style transfer (ST) has been growing rapidly, it has been hampered by a lack of standardized practices for automatic evaluation. In this paper, we evaluate leading automatic metrics on the oft-researched task of formality style tra nsfer. Unlike previous evaluations, which focus solely on English, we expand our focus to Brazilian-Portuguese, French, and Italian, making this work the first multilingual evaluation of metrics in ST. We outline best practices for automatic evaluation in (formality) style transfer and identify several models that correlate well with human judgments and are robust across languages. We hope that this work will help accelerate development in ST, where human evaluation is often challenging to collect.
